Decent sized solar panel so the battery charges fully during the day. If you need more light, Arlec also have a 500 lumen solar sensor floodlight. Similar style but larger size. Good for scaring off feral animals, if you know what I mean ;-)

I wish I read the blurb on this online before purchase, because it was only after purchasing and opening them that I discovered they are always on at a low brightness, something I specifically didn’t want. This leads to a fundamental flaw with the product - being always on it attracts insects. Insects move. The motion sensor detects that movement which means the light is almost constantly on at full brightness. It would be nice if the always-on nature of the light was stated on the packaging, or better yet, if there was a way to turn the low light mode off but still have it turn on with motion. Other than that, they do work reasonably well, with good brightness.

Nice product. Sensor performance sometimes is bit awkward. I installed these lights on the upper side of timber fence. As these lights get enough sunlight to charge without any obstruction, they provide ample lighting for the whole night (~10 hours).

Had 2 of these up to test for about a week or so now and I'm pretty impressed. Battery lasts all night even after a cloudy day and despite feeling cheap and flimsy, it's survived a downpour AND a 1.5 metre drop onto the concrete when my temporary blue tac mounting solution stopped working. Light has a 1200mAh Li-on battery and can be opened up pretty easily to put in a higher capacity one in if needed. Would love to see a brighter version of this.
Choose this product to provide lighting along the side of the house walkway - between the fence and side of house. April and they turn on about 6pm-6.30pm just after about dusk. They become brighter when motion detector is triggered, providing temporary brighter light. This product doesn't have any bells or whistles, but is a good solar powered light. For somewhere like the front of house which is visible from the street I'd choose something more 'fancy', but these lights are functional and look clean, tidy and basic for more of a basic area. Exsctly what I am after, they provide decent lighting to empty bins at night etc without tripping on pavers. Perfect for tenanted housing, or for elderly that are likely to trip. Or anyone just wanting extra security in general.
Been using these solar panelled lights for 2 months already, absolutely love it. Never fails me at night time, I live at a very poorly lit area and the lights are dim when no motion is close by but when I walk towards it it brightens up. Loved it so much, I came back and purchased 2 more.
Bought two of these and posted a glowing review just over a year ago. One is still going strong, however the other one recently died. With nothing left to lose I opened it up again only to find that the battery compartment and the 18650 battery were completely corroded and this is what caused the light to fail (the battery still had a decent charge so the solar panel was still working well!) Will see how the other one goes but I suspect it'll be a similar story over time. It's a shame that this could have been prevented with a simple rubber seal around the rear panel. Still a good light but can't recommend something that by design, will fail when exposed to rain for long periods of time.
Good to attach to the house where the sun can get to the panel, has a good distance from the house to the road sensitivity. My neighbours followed suit and got some also, looks good at night, and I've had mine installed for around 1 year, usually weather resistant. I bought 4, 1 went down after 6months, probably internal and we've had quite a bit of hard rain recently in Australia. Lights up a good area, great for pathways around the house and growing shade plants at night as the light is dim until something activates it.
I've had these for about a month and so far couldn't be happier. I took the time to make sure the product was fully charged for several days (switching it off at night) before using it normally. The lights are lasting all night on the dim setting and the sensor for the extra brightness is very good. I took another posters idea and put magnets on them so they easily attach to the shed and metal fence. Bonus during the recent floods and power outage- I brought them all inside and they lit up the whole house interior all night so no need for candles causing fire hazards.
not bad for the price. needed it near our front gate, very dark cant see a thing. This brightened up 4mtrs away, then turns off 30-45sec later. I only have to open my front door and it turns on. photo is of how bright is it. and other photo is of dimmer light is stays on alnight til morning. soft that it won’t annoy you or neighbours. photos were taken on a rainy day, so pretty good solar light.
