I bought this product a couple of months ago - our electrician installed it. I set it up (I am a certified enterprise network engineer - not that you should have to be). The doorbell is slow to respond, the connection drops in and out, the video call function doesn't work, and half the time the notifications are delayed to a point which makes the doorbell useless. Not fit for purpose - it's a toy at best. A very expensive toy that does not work. Terrible support. Does not come with a power supply. There is nothing good about this unit. Avoid at all costs.

The Arlo video doorbell is currently the best in the market with features and ease of use. Currently not HomeKit enabled but should be in the future. Also if you don’t have a wired doorbell that you are replacing then you may need an electrician to install this doorbell. Other than that it’s a great product.

I never usually leave reviews but I just had to warn others about this worthless product.Poor connection to my WiFi, 10 second lag when speaking to someone, setting the Activity Zones and either receiving no notifications or notifications for activity *outside* of it... On top of that, their customer support team takes forever to respond and offers pointless troubleshooting steps like toggling settings on and off, instead of accepting there is a problem.Grateful to JB Hi Fi for letting me swap out this faulty product for an awesome Eufy wired doorbell - go for them instead!

This has blown 4 transformers since I bought it 2 years ago. It disconnects from the WiFi randomly. Possibly because it's wet. Or it's hot. Or it's cold. To reconnect it you have to take it off the wall and poke a steel pin between live wires. I hate it. HATE IT. I do NOT recommend. (The camera is good.)
I purchased this to add to an existing Arlo system with 2 cameras. While it was easy to install and setup, it does need a power source from 18 to 24 VAC. It is designed to be simply wired into an existing powered doorbell system BUT the 18VAC systems are very US and rare in Australia. Make sure you get a plug in powerpack from your friendly electronics store. The good news is that this system also connects to the Arlo chime to add the ring.The system rings your phone no matter where you re when someone presses the doorbell. It connects quickly and the video and audio are excellent. Other features like movement detection and recording also work well. Great Video Doorbell, was easy to installed, works well with my Samsung mobile, and my wife’s iPhone, has many features, night vision not bad, however have trouble connect with google home, most likely its my Samsung phone as its J6 early version of Android software..
Just had my video doorbell installed and it works great. Great video quality and very easy to use. I did not have a current doorbell system, however, Arlo had an article on their webpage that explains how to install with an AC power. Works perfectly.
The Arlo Video Doorbell is a great addition to my Arlo home security ecosystem and works just fine alongside my Arlo Pro 3 cameras. A recent firmware update from Arlo now allows the video doorbell to connect directly to the Arlo SmartHub and is now compatible with the Arlo Chime. PLEASE NOTE that this doorbell requires existing doorbell wiring otherwise you’ll need an electrician to come and install it. My installation took about 2 hours and I was able to avoid having a wired chime installed since I opted to use the Arlo Chime instead. I knew all of this before my purchase because I did my own research meaning that I didn’t buy this product blindly not knowing what it’s actually meant to do.
The Arlo system this device cannot connect to Google Home reliably and offer a simple broadcast announcement or chime when the door button is pressed. No it is not fully compatible with Google Smart Speakers or Google Nest as is promoted. It relies on your mobile phone being turned on and simply makes a call to your phone requiring you to go find your phone before knowing if someone is at the door. Also the system will no work unless you have an active internet connection. No internet no notification. Extremely disappointing.
Tested the doorbell out inside with a brand new power supply to test that it was all working. Set it up outside & it died 2 days later & had to be returned to store. Also you need the hub for HomeKit support which the arlo website doesn’t mention.
