Artusi 90cm Electric Built-in Oven (CAO900X1)

Oven is a Good replacement, however it only comeswith one oven rack. With an extra oven rack I wouldhave rated it 5 stars

I bought the Artusi 90cm Electric Built-in Oven a month ago. It was delivered and installed on the date agreed and very professionally by the Appliance Online installers. The oven has been working very well and a great improvement on my previous oven. I am very happy with the oven and recommend it to anyone interested in a not too complicated oven that works well.

Hi, We never used to bother setting start and end times on ovens before, just started the oven and keeping an eye on the clock, which was also always built into the oven.I am old-fashioned so read the instruction manual first before touching anything.So we had everything set up, and selected grille and temperature and absolutely nothing happened. Panic. Why doesn't the thing work? Checked whether the power CB had opened, no. Read the manual again, nothing that told me anything. Really worried whether electrician had made a mistake. After a long time of worrying, I decided to see whether I needed to set the clock, but nothing in the manual. However, as soon as I turned the clock, the oven came on. All that worry and panic, and just about to get the electrician back, which would have cost another call out could have easily been avoided had the manufacturer taken a bit of care and mention the need to use the clock at all times in the manual!Then, the next problem. Even though we didn't normally use the clocks in previous ovens, we did know that, when they reached the end of a period they would ring or ding, or make a noise and more than once. This one doesn't. When you turn it back by hand you hear a single ding, not very noticeable, but when it turns off by itself it does not make a sound at all. SO you are guessing and, if distracted, the oven may have switched itself off a long time before you notice. I strongly believe that this oven should let you know when it switches off.THe third problem with the clock is that you have to guess how long something needs. WIth earlier ovens, you would switch it on, and when it reached the preset temp, you would place your food in and then you look at the time, and after 30 minutes, or whatever, you'll go back and have a look and a prod, to see whether the food is cooked. If not, you just let it go. With this Artusi, there is no built-in clock, so, you have to go into another room to look at a clock. You have to go and check whether the temperature has reached its setting, then should really have to restart the clock, otherwise part of your cooking time is already gone for the pre-heating. Then after 30 minutes, you do the same but you can't just let it go if it wasn't quite done, as the timer might switch itself off another 3 minutes later, depending on original time selection.Finally, the clock seems to jump from about 5 minutes to go to 'finished, in quite a bit less than 5 minutes. The indicator is also not very precise.So, in summary, this oven requires a lot more close attention and you can certainly not set it up like other ovens to think that after 90 minutes the food will be cooked. You can't cook a big turkey, if the ovens needs pre-heating and the turkey may need 3 hours, because the timer doesn't go past 120 minutes.The lack of a built-in clock and the lack of a proper warning sound when the oven switches off are major negative points. Apart from that, the oven seems to be doing well, although I notice that, because of these short comings, our use of the oven may have reduced to about 10% of what we used to use ovens for.SO this is why fair overall, build quality is more important in the long term, when the bottom element fails and you may find that you can't get spares (as in my previous Italian oven) and ease of use would have been better if it hadn't caused us the initial panic. ALso, my wife used our previous ovens totally on her own, now she wants me to set it up every time she would like to use it. This is mainly because of the timer setting.
