The 500ml one's I purchased were the 100% imported from Japan, lovely taste. I definitely wouldn't recommend the 330ml bottles as they are brewed in Australia. Taste is completely different

Brewed in Australia - No longer imported

Last case ordered Nov 2022 was brewed in Australia. Side by side tasting with the imported product revealed that they are subtly different beers (Aust product being slightly lighter in colour and with a more pronounced hop bitterness on the back of the palette), This is probably explained by the Australian brewed product being significantly fresher than the imported cans. Still good value.

The Australian brewed asahi cans are barely better than Carlton Draught. Such a shame, was a real treat to be able to buy imported cans. Hopefully they make it back.

Disappointed
11 December 2022

Asahi 500ml cans used to be my go to beer as they were brewed in Japan and tasted fantastic compared to the horrible tasting Asahi (brewed under licence) in Australia bottles. Recently I discovered that the 500ml cans are now also brewed in Australia and taste different. Also as another insult to customers, the price has remained the same for a beer that is now brewed in Australia not Japan.I am hugely disappointed, Asahi have lost a once loyal customer.

Karakuchi!

I bought this 2 months ago when in stock. Probably the best Super Dry beer on the planet. Imported from Japan, crisp and refreshing. Ice cold, you probably can not get a better beer. 24 x 500 ml cans for this price is excellent value. Completely different taste from the Asahi Super Dry bottles (brewed under licence).

Make sure it is brewed in Japan
20 January 2022

This is normally my go-to beer for refreshing, crisp, dry lager and it is much better than the same branded beer in bottles. However, recently at First Choice I noticed they had these same 500ml cans but upon closer inspection, I noticed they were 'made under supervision' in Australia. So be careful and always make sure you get the ones that are brewed in Japan, they are much better.

More fake beer from Asahi
6 January 2023

Congratulations Asahi…. More fake beer. “Japan’s no1 beer” now made in Australia. Not sure how this is possible given that no one from Japan has consumed the fake rubbish that Australia is now brewing.

Saddest day ever! these silver bullets were being brewed in Japan but no longer! its a shame as they are still selling at a premium and its not the same Karakuchi taste anymore.

Now brewed in Australia
11 November 2022

Just picked up a case and so disappointed that these cans are now brewed in Australia under supervision. Nowhere near as good as the imported cans from Japan.

These are no longer imported.

The 500ml cans were all imported up to about two weeks ago. There is a distinct taste difference between the import and the aus brewed cans. The price should be dropped to reflect the product.
