This is the best coffee machine we’ve ever owned. It’s seriously has so many features that most high end coffee machines have. It’s very well priced too. We choose anthracite, because it looked amazing on our coffee station bench too. It’s also very compact and comes with different pucks to suit and love the beautiful wooden handle on the portafilla. The whole machine is excellently made and I highly recommend

I absolutely love this coffee machine. It’s the most amazing coffee machine I’ve ever purchased. It’s exceptionally made and such a ‘dream’ to use. I highly recommend this coffee machine. Love it’s sleek and retro look We’ve just recently had a new kitchen installed and a coffee station. I researched this particular model for months before deciding and it fits perfectly on the bench

I spent a great deal of time researching many espresso machines before deciding to purchase the Ascaso Dream One PID. I wanted first to find a machine that had a small foot print as my counter space is limited. I in fact retired my Behmore Brazen Machine in order to make room for the Dream. In every way, the Dream ONE PID exceeds my expectations for quality, and styling, as well as performance. The only thing they could do different would make it a double boiler, which would increase the footprint as well as the price.I was about to purchase a Breville from another dealer when I came across the Ascaso Dream PID. I purchased mine from you because you took the time to answer my questions via phone, and emails. This told me that you would be a dealer that took ... When my over a decade old entry level Breville espresso machine died, I decided to upgrade to the polished aluminum Ascaso Dream PID. Its a beautiful little machine that makes a great latte. The booklet that came with it was small and hard to read but their website has really good videos that explain the start up, programmability options, and functions of the machine.I've been having fun experimenting with the pre-infusion time, grind, tamp and brew time. Even when I've not gotten it perfect, it still makes a very good latte. I do brew first and then steam the milk because I don't want to mess around with purging it down to brew temp from steam temp. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. It makes great coffee, has a small footprint, and looks gorgeous on ... It has been just about a year since I purchased this machine. My style is usually a double shot each morning. If I feel fancy I will make a cappuccino but its not common. Some things i have learned so far:It comes with a 14 g double basket. I found 16 g of coffee seems to be the sweet spot, going any higher than 16 g gives pressure issues. This was an issue at first because everything i was reading was 18g of coffee or even more! The PID and the shot timers work well and it is fairly easy with a good quality grinder to get constantly good shots.I like that I can use the single shot timer for my clean water runs. that way i know the double shot timer will be ready for my next pull. This machine is so beautiful and we have the red one and it looks amazing on the ... I feel I might have a hard time with microfoam latte but my latte skills are pretty bad.The downsides are as follows:The steam knob broke and they sent me a replacement with a metal ring around the wood to strengthen it. This works well but as mentioned in other reviews after I steam it is very hard to completely seal it and I do get some dripping on the wand until I really crank it closed.I don't steam milk often at all so this isn't really to much of an issue. Perhaps i would steam more if this wasn't a bit of a pain.A big downside for me is this is not a very common machine so there is very little content online for tips or tricks, no user groups or forums I have been able to find. So most everything I have had to figure out myself or apply other methods.
AB were able to prove match and offer the best price I could find anywhere! The coffee machine is absolutely beautiful! The quality is fantastic, the coffee it is making is excellent.Would highly recommend the product if you are looking for high quality machine that looks like a beautiful classic in your home.If you are looking for great customer service and super fast delivery, I would also recommend purchasing through AB!
The Dream PID was my first entry into espresso and it's been a ton of fun.Pros:1. Small, very good looking machine. I think this is a massively underrated feature for a first espresso machine when counterspace needs to be negotiated with a significant other :)2. Fast warm up. I can't overstate the value of this for me. If I would've bought an e61 machine I'd be waiting 30min+ every time I wanted to make a coffee. There's no way I would've made half as many coffees as I have with that kind of waiting requirement just to start playing. There's also no need to worry about back to back shot recovery time on the machine as it's ready to go so quickly.3. PID is fun to be able to play with as you try roasts and explore the espresso world.4. 58mm standard group. ... MoreThe Dream PID was my first entry into espresso and it's been a ton of fun.Pros:1. There's also no need to worry about back to back shot recovery time on the machine as it's ready to go so quickly.3. PID is fun to be able to play with as you try roasts and explore the espresso world.4. 58mm standard group. Even though Ascaso doesn't sell a bottomless portafilter, you can buy others. I found one with a wood handle that matches the other boxwood. It's also easy to try out precision baskets. In short, you get to play with a lot of the customization e61 machine owners get to play with.5. Side mounted water reservoir. Again, so many machines out there have top mounted reservoirs. This one is side mounted which makes it easy to refill without having to move the machine.Cons:1. Manufacturing quality seems quite poor. I've had two issues. One, out of the box, it wouldn't draw water. After talking with the (really fantastic!) customer support at SCG I realized that the tubing from the reservoir was split at one of the connections to the valve. SCG offered to fix it (but I'm far away and impatient!) but I got in there, cut the tube at the split and reattached it. The steam/hot water valve has not been great. After a few months I was really having to crank hard on the knob to get it to open or shut. Eventually the wooden knob itself broke. SCG has again offered to repair (this time I'll probably take them up on it) when I get time to figure out how to pack it up and send it.2. While the thermoblock insulation is generally really appreciated for brew temp stability (something I care about much more than steaming!) it really takes a lot of water purging to cool everything down to brew temp.3. The portafilter is *very* snug in the group and this is a small machine. As a result, to really lock it in you need to hold the machine with your other hand.4. Again in the category of this is a small machine, it has what seems to me like a tiny drip tray.5. I wish I had more control over preinfusion. The maximum option for preinfusion is a 5 second delay which, with the vibe pump build up time, means that you have about 9 seconds before water hits the puck with full force.Overall:This machine has been a huge success for me. I've really gotten into espresso. I look forward to using it every day. It's good looks and small footprint were an excellent Trojan horse to get my wife on board with espresso as well! The build quality has been extremely disappointing but SCG customer service has been great.
Great looking machine with good performance and really great steam. In the end I returned it, but only because it wasn't the right fit for my primary coffee habit (americano).Pros:- Solid stainless steel construction and the wood accents look great.- Really great steam, and it only takes 60s to get up to steaming temperature.- Quick heat up time from cold. It's ready to go in 2 mins, but full heat up time of the group takes about 10 min- Makes a great espresso and has good temp control (no temp surfing needed).Cons:- Small water tank and an equally small (and spill prone) drip tray.- Very little clearance, I could not fit my scale and a shot glass under the portafilter.- Hot water is not very hot (~150 F) with the PID set to 205. I ended up having to boil ... MoreGreat looking machine with good performance and really great steam. Absolutely stunning finish. The powder coating is just exceptional, and the wooden finish on the portafilter handle and steam wand really add to the experience. A lot of thought was put into the feel of this machine, including the updated PID buttons and rocker switches. The only things I can complain about are the poor durability on the chrome bits (scuffs easily) and the knob for the steam wand has far too much range; you would expect it to have less than 1 full turn of play but it has about 4 full turns to get to full power, which is still not that high. Otherwise, very low clearance under the spouted portafilter, so plan to buy a bottomless if you don't have one and use anything bigger than a cappuccino cup.
At first I was a bit skeptical about this new Ascaso machine; at this price point you could buy some other machines with PID that have a robust pedigree and a long track record in the coffee industry. At one point this machine was made available by SCG in an open box sale, so I decided to give it a try. Well worth every single penny, and would definitely buy a newer version at full price if it ever came to that.At first there is a bit of a learning curve to using this machine, that probably one of the downsides for older customers that might be a little technologically challenged. Nonetheless, after reading the manual and getting acquainted by the Dream PID I can truly say that its a very pleasant and straightforward experience. All the features on it truly rivals ... All the features on it truly rivals the Rancilio Silvia PID (mod) which lies about in the same category in terms of price and has a long history of being a staple transition machine between an entry level semi-auto and a lower-end prosumer machine. What did I like? PID is accurate and very easy to set. After running 10 shots on a couple of different days the temperature is always truly within one degree of the PID reading. Pre-infusion works well, and allows you to set the time of pre-infusion. Steam flow is very powerful, and the steam arm hinge is as close to perfect as i've ever seen in a machine. The pressure gauge was compared to an external pressure gauge and reading is accurate; its also easy to adjust as compared to some other machines. Lastly, its an aesthetically pleasing machine, it looks great on any countertop, its footprint is on the smaller side and its a conversation piece for any kitchen. All this translates to making top notch espresso for the amateur to low budget prosumer categories. What I would change? The portafilter is hard to slide into place once you have your coffee in and you're ready to pull a shot, especially with the double shot basket (I use a basket from my previous machine which fits into the portafilter and makes it easier to slide into place); its not gonna affect your shot, and its not something that gonna consume time at all, but it could be hard for an older person or someone with muscle problems or a pain condition to put it into place... You should consider this when buying, as you should cater your own needs when picking a machine. Also, with the spout being so large, it can be hard to use larger mugs with this machine, wider vs taller cups are the way to go with this machine. Ascaso should also consider making a bottomless portafilter available for consumers. Other than that, if you can surpass the slight learning curve, you're good to go!Great machine, would buy again, definitely recommend. Wanted to give 4.5 stars but I just rounded up (its closer to five than it is to four in my opinion).
