Best working shoe

Such a comfortable and well-designed shoe. It has the perfect balance between looking sleek for work and having a medium-to-high level of comfort. It usually takes me a while to find a good wide-fit shoe online and ASICS always seems to exceed the expectations. I've been wearing this shoe for about a year and I can say it's still in good condition and it's been through every kind of weathering scenario. It's not great in the rain so I would'nt advise wearing this in stormy weather. However, it's still a good shoe so if you're looking for something that needs to be somewhat presentable and has enough comfort to go into a sprint then this is probably the best choice.

These are the third pair of 550- TR’s. Safe to say that I am very happy with the shoe for the purpose of playing Pickleball on an outdoor court. The only concern is the longevity of the soft sole. I would like to be advised of a shoe with the same comfort but with a more durable sole suited to an outdoor cement hard court. Than’s heaps for your time and looking forward to advice.

Gel-550Tr Grade School

The asics Get 550Tr are the best wearing jogger for school kids. Being made of quality leather and also coming in white to meet school dress requirements I have purchased this model and similar from when my kids were in Prep. The joggers easily last the school year. The only thing that has change in the previous model was the breathability of the shoe. Which could be better as it didn't let the foot breath as well as the models previous and the shoe became a little smelly.

Great Shoe
1 July 2024

These are great shoes and I've used this particular shoe (through all its model changes...) for 20 years. The shoe market has developed over the years and this type of "cross trainer" has become less fashionable but as a versatile "everything" shoe its hard to beat, With the width choices, fit is never an issue. No need to break in, they just work.

Lightweight shoe for running (errands)
6 February 2024

I purchased the white/apricot colour way of these and they are a great style aesthetically and for comfort. I tried half a size up to my usual 7 and opted for the Wide fit. I'm so glad I did, it's made me realise how narrow my former Nike's were. Can't go wrong with these as a mum on the run.

Replct model, but niggles
11 August 2021

I waited months to buy these to replace my previous tennis shoes which were discontinued (Gel540TR D Wide) and as far as the size and fit goes, they are what I waited for.2 niggles however:1. As these are a D Wide shoe, you'd think ASICS would make the tongue also wider. Nope. No. Tongue is still as narrow as standard fit shoes. There are wide 1cm EACH SIDE gaps between the tongue and the shoe where the laces are. Bother. Lets sand in at copious volumes, and looks stupid.2. Laces supplied by ASICS are about 40cm too short to lace through all holes and tie. As a result I have to miss 2 pairs of lace holes on each side, exacerbating the sand ingress.

Review For GEL-550TR (2E Wide)
8 May 2023

I am a long time user of the previous models similar to this shoe.I find they are the best for walking and general day-to-day use. They are light but solid (more than the 2000 model for instance). The support base of the sole is a great help to the orthotics I wear. They are also long-lasting which justifies the purchase price. This model also looks smarter, so can double as a casual shoe which can be worn at a social function.

Review of Asics Gel 550TR - Mens Cross Training Shoes
11 June 2024

Even if those are sold as cross-training shoes, they are also excellent for walking, of which I do 20-30 km weekly in Winter. As with each new pair of shoes, those must be be 'walked in' so expect the occasional blister, even if wearing double socks as I do, on your first walks.Manufacturing quality is overall in keep with the price, although the tongue may be slightly too narrow, you may therefore see a bit of the colour of the socks on the sides, between the shoe laces. While walking, impact dampening is excellent, it's like walking on clouds. No more aching feet after 3-4 days of walks in a row!

Smile time !
18 July 2024

Recently purchased to replace other old A's friends. These new acquaintances are destined to become good reliable friends too. Everytime I see them, they're beckoning me to take a walk, and I can't help smiling when we do. This model provides a wonderfully parallel platform for a sure-footed experience, with ideal support up front. The only reason my old A trainers, that are about 5 years old, were retired, was because of a split in the small toe area, in the mesh material. This model will probably be inherited, given the materials of its making ~ a real quality product from an ever-stylish brand.

They look good
27 May 2024

I have still been wearing the Gel-Melbourne for knee arthritis. So these are the first that aren't specific. They are taking awhile to get use to. They are softer, and the sole bends when walking, it is a good thing as the others were stiff like walking on a wooden sole. I think these will be good. I have removed the lifts for the outside of foot from Melbourne insoles and put them in these, plus a heel wedge also for the outside of heel.
