Excellent cushioning and secure cushioned fit around the heel. This a new feature that my old Kayano shoes did not have. I wear out the back of heel inside the shoe first and this cushion bubble locks my foot into place and feels amazing. They are light considering how big they look. I have worn Gel Kayanos for over 10 years and I love these. I have flat feet and problems with a crooked toe however I love to jog, walk, run etc.. These shoes allow me to do that pain free as if nothing was wrong with my feet. That is priceless and helps with justifying the cost ;) .

An excellent shoe. The most comfortable running shoe I’ve had. I’m a regular to this particular brand and style.. It’s amazing, but I’ve been making a mistake for years. I’ve been buying a Regular width shoe because I have a narrow foot or thought so. That’s what they’ve always told me. The front of my foot has pain when I run sometimes and I get blisters on my big toe. I finally went to a wide shoe realizing that with the repetitive pounding of the asphalt, a little more room would be possibly helpful and that’s what it turned out to be. Something to consider if you have some pain in the front of your foot or are getting blisters

I wasn't expecting to like the Gel Kayano 31s; I loved the 27 and 28s, but hated the 29 and 30s. I figured the minor updates to the 31 wouldn't make a difference, but at least for me they were just what I needed. I'm a walker these days, about 2 - 3 miles every morning, and these shoes provide the comfort and support I've been after. However, I think quality could use some work. The front tread on the left shoe started coming off after just one week (!!!) of use. Fortunately ASICS warranty approved their replacement, but I hope I don't have to keep going through this on a regular basis. These shoes are WAY too expensive to have these kinds of defects!

I bought this a month ago and slowly took my time breaking into them whilst interchanging with my New Balance Fresh Foam 880. For me, it seems to be an Asics Kayano thing where I blister on my inner right heel (could be my running form). Considering my previous Kayanos were the 27s, I didn't think this would happen again and unfortunately it did. They're a great shoe for stability. I can see and feel the improvement in ankle support. Light weight and cushioned.Kayanos 27 lasted me through the bulk of my half mara training. Hoping these would also be a great fit for full mara training and the mara day!
Frankly, I cannot give you an honest review. I needed a longer (larger) size and your website and phone were "unavailable" for a period of 5 days for me to arrange a return and repurchase. I gave up. The colors and style was great The shoes are a winner in my sister's eyes and feet so I thought I'd try them. Unfortunately your customer service and availability and website ruined my entire experience. I live 45 miles from an Asics store. I had high hopes for these shoes in style and comfort for my bunions. Lost me as a customer unless you come up with some amazing way to make me a believer in your on-line service.
I bought these expensive shoes ($320) because the Athletes Foot salesperson recommended them to me, as I've got chronic plantar fasciitis. I've had it for 2 years and none of my shoes are comfortable to walk in. After purchasing the latest Asics Gel-Kayano shoes, I walked 3 blocks back to work and my feet were very sore, especially my toes. The rocking movement exacerbated my foot pain, putting pressure on my upper foot, and causing pain through my whole foot, instead of just the arch and heel. These shoes may help with some cases of plantar fasciitis, but they made mine worse. But I'm grateful to the store for giving me a full refund, even though I had worn the shoes - thank you!
I have been a dedicated Kayano fan since I started running after a back injury. Doctors suggested this shoe as the most stable and supportive for my recovery. When I started running I trained and did events in this shoe. So comfortable for walking, jogging, working, training and running - every day. I've never steered away from the Kayano and enjoy the continued improvements and new technology with each iteration. This shoe has never failed me, always feel comfortable and supported. Great everyday and training shoe for longer runs.

Unfortunately since the release of the 30's I have been having issues with them and have had to return 6 out of 7 pairs due to faults including soles separating from uppers, stitching falling apart and parts of the sole peeling off, after very minimal wear. This most recent model is seriously flawed and they seem to have forgotten to put in the cloud like cushioning that was great in the 30's. While the fit of the uppers and grip has improved, it seems this will only stay attached to the shoe for a couple of months max. So disappointing, as was my response from customer service who seemed to think 6 out of 7 pairs of faulty shoes was acceptable and their solution was to "choose a different model".
