Beware...not the Nimbus we know and love!
3 July 2023No running for me

I took in both my Nimbus 24 and 25 shoes and the podiatrist confirmed peroneal tendonitis caused by the Nimbus 25 shoes which has a significantly higher stack height and lower toe drop compared to the Nimbus 24 and previous Nimbus models. This changed the mechanics in my foot when running and resulted in tendonitis. I was told not to wear the Nimbus 25s and go back to the 24s when my foot recovered.3 months later, I still have pain in my foot and can't run or even walk very fast AND I have a pair of $260 running shoes I can't wear! As an active person not being able to run or even walk is very frustrating and knowing it was caused by these shoes makes it even worse. Very disappointed!

My feet have never been so happy!!! They are everything I needed to help me battle the complications of having MS. MS can be debilitating, but with ASICS I won't give in or give up walking!!!I have only one issue - the cost, they are as expensive as the HOKAs. Of course, they are worth it, but I wish ASICS would offer a discount for disabled people. Many of us cannot work, are on SSDI, SSI, or need help with covering the costs of helpful products such as these shoes. That said, I simply cannot believe how much better my feet feel in these shoes! THANK YOU ASICS, IMO, YOU ADDED MANY HAPPY YEARS TO MY LIFE.

Huge improvement over previous version

This is my new favorite shoe! The new version (Nimbus 25) is a huge improvement in many ways over the previous version (Nimbus 24). This new version has reduced heel drop which eases the pressure off of the forefoot (old version pushed me onto my toes and caused pain in the ball of my foot). This new version is more cushy and has a pull tab at the heel to make it easy to get the shoe on. I am very happy that there are some fun colors in the Wide version. I ordered the silver/purple in size 8 Wide. I sized up one whole size from my regular shoe size. I have high arches and I am a heel striker. I like that ASICS is making a high quality shoe to help those with high arches and underpronation. Love these - I'm back to Nimbus
26 July 2023

I am not a runner but I walk a lot and long distances. I wore Nimbus for many years and loved them because it felt like walking on a cloud, as the name suggests. I stopped wearing and buying them a couple of years ago because they became very uncomfortable and made my supination worse, despite them supposedly being a neutral shoe. I moved to Brooks and tried other brands. Brooks Ghost worked for a while but despite buying the same model, there was inconsistency in the feel of different pairs I bought, and the cushioning was non-existent. The Nimbus 25 were recommended by a sales consultant at The Athlete's Foot. I have used these shoes for a couple of months and feel confident enough to say that these are the best walking shoes I have worn in a very long time. Mixed review
12 April 2023

I was very mixed as to whether I liked these shoes or not. As a runner (currently training for a marathon) I unfortunately didn't get on with these shoes. But running shoes are a very personal choice and having completed a gait analysis, I know a less cushioned sole works for me as my ankles turn when running and firmer soles prevent that from happening. These shoes have incredibly bouncy soles so would be a fantastic trainer if that style suited you.The trainers itself have padding in all the right areas (around the lower ankles and heels) and a very breathable fabric on the top. I particularly like that the tongue is super breathable and stretchy. I have wide feet so tend to go up half a size if I'm not able to try on and the 5.5 fitted me perfectly. I feel the insole could have more support so if you have a high instep they may fall a little short in that area. Finally the colour is wonderful - sort of like a neon coral colour and I loved it!So although these trainers aren't right for me due to personal preference, they're still great running shoes.

Not my favorite running shoes
22 June 2023

I went to Fleet Feet to get my feet scanned and an associate recommended these shoes. I tried them on in store, loved them, and hurried back home to order them from ASICS.First mistake: I ordered the white ones. I know, I know. Why order white running shoes when I KNOW they'll get dirty? Well, maybe it's because my white Hokas set my expectations high. I've only been using my ASICS for 2 months and they have gotten completely dirty lol but I'm willing to accept that it's on me!Second mistake: I thought I liked lots of cushioning based on my affinity for Hokas. However, I'm not sure what it is with these ASICS but I do not love the cushion here. It's uncomfortable.Overall, these actually hurt my feet when running when ironically I was going to use them as ... MoreI went to Fleet Feet to get my feet scanned and an associate recommended these shoes. Potentially great once worn in

I bought these for long distance walks to avoid blisters on my soles which I was getting with my sketchers archfit trainers. The nimbus 25 are much more engineered around the foot so there’s not as much friction inside. First walk was 13 miles and no blisters. There was a little heel rub and slightly bruised toenails, and that’s continued with each shorter walk. The shock absorption from the thick soles is great and the curved toe is good for speed. They give a lot of bounce but are not super squishy underfoot. They have quite a low rise from toe to heel, which I don’t mind. I’d say the sizing is on the small side. I went up a half size but maybe could have done with a full size. There’s plenty room width wise even for my wide feet. Trying to copy hoka's and failing. Yes, there is stability and cushioning (that feels nothing like the cushion of hoka's) but they make you walk totally differently. Nimbus were the only sneakers that didn't hurt my injury. I've been in pain since only walking around the house. They are NOTHING like other versions of nimbus. I've never written a review but went out of my way to do so this time hoping others won't bother purchasing them and that someone at asics reads these reviews. I'm going to have to hope a brooks style works or that my current pair of 23's last until the 26's come out and they are hopefully what we all expect nimbus to be. Asics - what have you done to the greatest running shoe? I have been a devoted Nimbus wearer for 15+ years and this is definitely no Nimbus. It doesn't feel like a Nimbus, doesn't fit like a Nimbus, doesn't ride like a Nimbus and certainly doesn't look like one. I could get past the looks if it felt good, but these shoes actually hurt.Pros - I have wide feet and usually don't get a lot of color choices.
