I always purchase my asics in the narrow 2A fit but was looking for a shoe with grip/traction.I gave these shoes a try because I could not find a narrow width trail shoe within the asics brand. I bought the black digital violet colour.These are considerably larger than my other Asics shoes even though I purchased them in the same size. (See photo for comparison to my gt2000).I’m not sure if they are intentionally on the larger/longer side because they are a trail shoe after all and would need to allow for more movement? I purchased online because my nearest store is 300 kilometres from here.They are too big for me and they are loose around my heel but i will insert a heel grip and see how it goes.This is my first pair of trail shoes.

A trail shoe with great stability and support – but it still feels light and very comfortable on the foot. The added millimeters to the foam's stack height (from previous editions) is very welcome! ​I believe it really improves impact absorption.​ The shoe works really well on various surfaces like rugged trails, gravel and unpaved terrain. I’ve also hit some asphalt in between trails and I’m surprised how well they've handled it.

It’s flexible sole, but with the revamped ASICSGRIP technology - rock protection plate - helps shield your feet from the rocks and rugged terrain whilst on the trails.The appearance is also impressive, with this unique color that stands out brightly in the mountains. And the elastic tongue for comfort, which fits snugly around the foot.Definitely, this is my favorite trail running shoe and my first choice for such terrain.
On my feet they fit perfectly, with a good roomy toe box which is a must for me to avoid toe bashing. The laces tied nicely (seems a daft thing to note but they’re not too short or long, and don’t slip once tied). The tongue of the shoe is also a shoe highlight for me- it’s soft, comfortable, and sits at a perfect height, and allows me to tie the laces tight and keep the top of my foot comfortable.The gel trabuco 11 really excelled in the muddy trails, providing good traction and propulsion up hills, and gave me good confidence descending in slippery conditions.I’m pretty confident in saying these are going to be my go to trail shoes for the next while
These are the shoes I'm currently using for my long and mid-distance trail runs. They're very cushioned and supportive - plus very bright! - and very grippy in mud, snow and grass.They ARE laces rather than lock laces though but I've had no issues with them coming undone and they're the sturdier laces than on road shoes so stay done up better, which was something I was concerned about with non-lock laces.I like the loop on the back to pull them on / off when the shoes are muddy and I like the colour despite a being a nit unsure initially. They also shed mud pretty well when they dry which is a bonus.
I recently started testing these on the trails and i am really happy with the way they perfom. Straight out the box they were comfortable with a soft tongue, plenty of support and a roomy toe box. Whilst i'm yet to take them on boggy trails, they have been on grass, leaves, dirt and gravel and performed well with good grip and a comfortable feel regardless of surface. I also LOVE the pink colour!
These are very comfortable, with a roomy but snug toe box. I also have the Trabuco Max 2, and although those feel lighter and bouncier, these feel more grounding and supportive. Small thing but I like how the loop on the heel end of shoe goes from left to right rather than up and down like most shoes with a loop on them. It's a minor thing but useful and functional. I will keep my Trabuco Max 2's for trail runs that also cross to tarmac, and these for the hard core trails. Also loving the blue/green colour.
After running hundreds of miles in my Trabuco 10s, I was keen to see how the latest version would compare. It doesn't disappoint. It's slightly higher off the ground and 5g lighter than its predecessor, but offers the same protection and comfort and a more contemporary look. It works for me on the roads as well as the trail - which is great for out-the-door runs in the city and for trail races that include some element of road.
Precisely 11 days before my first Trail Run Marathon Challenge my shoes spilt! I was distraught and extremely worried about how I would ever find and wear in a pair of shoes in time. These shoes are everything and more and truly made the event for me! They fit my feet so very well, they are comfy, they are supportive, they look amazing. Can not fault them. 26 miles after only 11 days of wearing them in - no blisters or rubbing. Extraordinary! So pleased.
