Since then I have ordered from ASICS corp. online and the shoes I get, GT-2000, are like a counterfeit version of what I got at the store Nordstrom five years ago. I wonder why. The fit is still just as good, though.

I would not buy these. I will be buying a different shoe for running and outdoor activities because I can feel everything in those shoes. It's not supportive enough. I do not suggest it.

These GT 2000 are slightly different to my previous ones. Higher heel guard & thinner tongue. These have orange flashes on the bottom heel area, which would be good for running in evening light. My only criticism is the laces they are still flat laces in slightly round hole they twist & are not easy to undo or pull up. I wish they did this stability in a walking shoe. As I had been recommended this shoe by a foot clinic for over pronation.

I have low volume, slim feet and several tendon issues, and wear this GT-2000 style as my primary walking and everyday shoe. Over the last 5 years there have been a number of changes to the fit and fabric, but this current model fits well and has a stronger fabric upper than some prior. I am buying my second pair while the size is available. I always stick a circle shaped shoe hole prevention patch on the inside above my large toe to prevent fabric tears. Grateful for Asics making the only true narrow athletic shoes. But--wish they would offer at least one other color option for us narrow gals.
I loved the GT 2000 11. I did not like the GT 2000 12 at all (too wide and squishy) and had high hopes for the GT 2000 13 only to be disappointed, again. The upper mesh and toe box is great and the fit is more narrow, but the shoe feels like it's weighted in the heel and seems quite heavy when walking even though the actual weight of the shoe is lighter than the GT 2000 11. When I wear my OTC insoles my foot is pushed to the inside of the shoe and rubs against the shoe. The shoes are not any more comfortable with the factory insoles.
I have been wearing the GT-2000 narrow for many years. The styling was changed a few years ago and I prefer the earlier styling. Also it would be nice if the narrow came in additional colors and not only black. I wear ASICS for walking daily.

I contacted customer service and was told that given the amount of time Iād had them they would be covered under warranty. Iāve been loyal to ASICS for over a decade and Iām an avid runner, personal trainer and competitive bodybuilder. Imagine my horror when I received an email stating that this was ānormal wear and tearā, that the shoes didnāt fit me properly (mind you I was fitted at a local store and purchased these online through ASICS because my local store didnāt have the color I wanted), and that I didnāt lace them correctly. ASICS GT-2000 are just perfect! Have been wearing ASICS for years but truly unaware that the GT-2000 is designed for a foot like mine - narrow and FLAT. The shoe is made to offset the problem with how my foot āpronatesā which has caused knee problems. Moreover, ASICS is the one narrow athletic shoe that is a true narrow.
I recently purchased the GT-2000s 13 for my 5-10km runs and as a preseason shoe for footy. They are an extremely comfortable and cushioned shoe and I feel supported from the moment my heel makes contact with the ground to the moment I push off my toes. You can definitely notice the enhanced cushioning under the forefoot. The transition also feels very smooth and efficient no matter what speed I am walking or running at. I would highly recommend this shoe to those standing/walking for long periods as well as your frequent runner.
I love these shoes. I have worn this model for years! I have a narrow foot and it is so difficult to find a show that fits properly. I only wish they came in more than one color. It gets a little boring when you have narrow feet that if you find a shoe made in narrow it is usually only in a basic color. Please, never discontinue making this shoe in narrow.
