Best shoe I have ever worn. This is my third pair of these exact shoes. Was excited to find them still.I still have the second pair and wear them when I am outside. Each one of them have lasted over 2 yrs I believe.Good support that stays with the shoe for a long time. I thought about buying two more pair and storing them to get me an additional 4 yrs.

This model of ASICS is probably the best athletic shoe I have ever purchased. It is supportive, offers excellent cushioning, grips terrain superbly, and is built like a tank. Probably the most durable outsole I’ve seen on an athletic shoe. Perfect for hiking, walking, and jogging on any type of ground from roads to off-road areas. I recommend a more cushioned shoe for long-distance running (over 6-7 miles), but for anything up to that these would be fine. I always have one pair in rotation and a spare for when my main pair wears out (it takes upwards of a year of very heavy use). No better value athletic shoe exists!

Shoe is fine but Asics customer care is substandard to put mildly. I have been wearing Asics running shoes for 20+ years and the Venture model for several years including the Venture 5,6,7, and 8. I ordered Venture 8's direct from Asics which arrived with a slightly collapsed heal. I contacted customer care who referred me to the warranty claim department because I had thrown away the original box the day I received them prior to trying them on. The shoes were unworn and brand new. I sent 6 pictures showing the collapsed heal. The initial response from warranty claim was to send me an email which including a link about how to purchase the right size shoes. After several emails and follow up phone calls to customer care I received a message that my claim had been ... MoreShoe is fine but Asics customer care is substandard to put mildly. I will never feel the same about the Asics brand again and it is a shame that while many companies use situations like this to delight and retain a customer - Asics customer care has done just the opposite over a $70 pair of shoes. Very sad and I am shocked for a company the size of Asics.

I've been wearing Asics for over 30 years and absolutely love them. I have 3 pairs currently -- Kayano, Noosa, and these GV8s. Love them all but the GV8s just fit differently than the others. Even though these are 45s and I normally wear 44, they're still tight in the toebox and narrow in the heal, causing discomfort. Even after clipping the toenails down to the minimum, it's still tight! Quite odd for Asics but seems like a size goof --- never had this problem before. The heel molding is more narrow than usual and stiff. I'm not surprised since it's a trail shoes, just to the point where it's uncomfortable. I do like the lightweight and the breathable uppers, especially here in Vegas -- felt very nice! I do like the lightweight and the breathable uppers, especially here in Vegas -- felt very nice! Like others have mentioned, the insole padding is weaker than my running shoes. I've not had any other GV models to compare with, but the padding in my Merrells was much better. The color is like split-pea...slightly darker than pictured. I've put 3 trails on them so far and will review after a few more months to see how these behave. I absolutely love Asics so I really wish my experience was bette with this model.
As a long time Asics wearer, I had no problem trying the Gel-Venture 8. I wanted a more versatile shoe rather than an all-out running shoe. These have not disappointed so far. Very supportive and comfortable right from day one. I went a half size up from normal which I think was the perfect choice. I have used them on the treadmill and they feel as good as my old Asics running shoes, but for everyday use and a bit of rough gravel walking they excel. They have excellent grip and traction, and with the Othalite insole, feel soft but supportive like a good pair of walking shoes, only lighter. The uppers feel a bit more padded than my old running shoe, but that just makes them all the better for what I am using them for. I have had a lot of shoes over the years. Lots of orthopedic brands, popular brands, etc. These Asics are affordable and extremely comfortable even the first day I wore them. Good tread with excellent grip. Very good cushioning. They seem well made and you can tell the attention to detail. I think I have finally found my brand of shoes. They have more expensive models but these are very nice. If Asics keeps up the quality on their affordable shoe lines I don't think I will buy another brand. For the money and even many times more money you won't get a better shoe both in performance and comfort. Very satisfied.
I bought these 5 weeks ago and have been trying to see if they just need to be broken in to be more comfortable on the bottom of my feet, but still no luck. I never liked Asics prior to 19 months ago because I need extra cushioning for my soles, but when trying on shoes 19 months ago I actually found a pair of Trail Scout 2's that ironically felt pretty good and lasted 18 months of every single day wear. I went to go buy another pair online 5 weeks ago and of course they were out. So, I thought I would try these since they're supposedly for trail sports too. BIIIG mistake. These are just as painfully uncomfortable on the bottom of the feet as running barefoot on rough concrete!
For the 1st time ever, I've purchased a pair of ASICS and the size seems to have changed.Bought size UK 12 Euro 48, the same as I have done several times, even including cricket shoes with spikes. This shoe bends my large toe inwards at the top, either the width has shrunk slightly or the length has decreased, either way I can't wear them, as for day to day wear and they are too uncomfortable. Shame I loved the colours. Also inside the trainer itself felt great, with lovely heel feel and bounce.Typically they are out of stock of the size up! Unfortunately had to return for refund..
While wearing the shoes casually to the office on a daily basis, they started peeling within a week. I emailed the company about this issue, and their response was that the shoes are designed to work only in perfect conditions. Any deviation from that is considered the customer's responsibility. This was their comment, "This warranty does not cover any defects due to improper fit, normal wear and tear, damage due to improper use, misuse, improper transportation or storage, failure to follow product instructions, modification or alteration to the product, unauthorized repair, or negligence." My question is, how can the shoes start peeling off within a week of normal wear (For me, there was no deviation such as slipping or hitting the shoes against a stone. The only variation was that I drove a car while wearing them. If that's an issue, then wow, these shoes need to stay in the store after purchase)? Even a pair of shoes from Temu costing under $20 would last at least a month.
I'm done with this brand. I've been very happy for over 10 years with the GEL-Venture line. But this latest version falls way short of expectations. The sole is so bad, my feet hurt, even if I use them as walking shoes. I bought a couple pairs on eBAY of 'last years stock.' which has been my routine for several years now. They were so bad, I thought they were illegal knock offs - but I still needed running shoes, so I purchased another two pairs at a higher price direct from this brands website. Sure enough, this cheap modification presumably to increase they profit margin has really betrayed my trust in this brand. This once loyal customer will be looking elsewhere for my running shoes from now on.So many great brands eventually fall victim to greed resulting in ... MoreI'm done with this brand.
