I bought this show to use on my mid to long runs as part of a cycle of shoes to use during a phase of a marathon training. These were comfortable straight out of the box and I was able to take them on a 10 mile run, I would say that they have increased in comfort following a breaking in period, I'm now up to 60+ miles and they feel like they have moulded to my foot. I have used them on a few tempo runs and they are comfortable but not particularly lightweight or responsive. They do provide a good level of support due to the light truss and this is definitely more forgiving than the due max of previous models. I found the outsole to be pretty poor in the wet, it offered little grip on hill sessions at pace. Overall I would definitely recommend this shoe for use with ... MoreI bought this show to use on my mid to long runs as part of a cycle of shoes to use during a phase of a marathon training. I am a midfoot striker so "unfortunately" can't comment on the gel heel.

This is a great shoe and is easy to slip on. The best part is that the cushioning pushes me forwards as I run making me feel lightweight. The shoe in general is very lightweight and breathable. The only downside is that the shoe doesn't fit very tightly onto your foot, and has a more airy feeling meaning that fast turns and maneuvers take a bit more skill, but is perfect for more longer distance/sprinting runs. Because of the looser fit, I would recommend tightening the laces a bit such that you don't break your ankles on accident. I wouldn't say this shoe is made for mud mainly because small dirt particles can get stuck in the opening where you put your foot in because of the easy slip on design. I did feel a bit of foot pain on the inside part of my right foot ... MoreThis is a great shoe and is easy to slip on. When you are a size 12.5UK it can be tricky finding an Asics shoe that fits correctly. This issue is what drew me to this model initially as its frustrating trying to find a Kayano/Cumulus that works for me as I have to chose between a 12UK and a 13UK and neither size quite work for me.I'm glad I did - because this is a perfect shoe. I have slightly flat and medium to wide feet, it hugs and supports with total comfort. It's not so built up that it looks a little blocky. The new mesh hugs the toes without feeling restrictive at all. Fit is true to size with your normal running shoe, unless you have boxy square feet where I'd suggest you size up.I run in the Asics Glideride. So I use the GT-2000 10 as my day to day walking/recovery shoe. Couldnt find a better option to do the job.If there was one criticism - ASICS! People like me have size 12.5UK feet and we need your help! Please can you update your stock levels and supply this size across your premium ranges because if you dont people will shop elsewhere. Always very limited supply and colour-way range. What about the Kayano? 12.5UK's dont feature much which is a shame. There I've said my piece.I love this shoe. I have no doubt you will too.

The GT is a pretty good daily trainer. Although a bit on the heavy side for tempo runs or speed work the shoe is more than capable for a short or long runs. I find the cushion both in the midfoot and heel area to be responsive and comfortable. The upper is breathable but gives plenty of support especially in the heel area, I had no heel slippage at all. The forefoot is wide enough where my toes were not rubbing against the side, on longer runs I noticed my feet especially the toes were not as sore. As for the colorway there a plenty of options but nothing really bright which I prefer. Overall, I recommend this shoe as a daily trainer and happily keep as part of my shoe rotation.
These are great trainers. I have been buying them for last 20 years. The materials have changed in the last years and the shoe upper typically wears out within a year. In the past it used to last far longer. However, it would be wise to change them once a year anyway to avoid injuries as the sole is designed for certain amount miles. These running trainers are very comfortable and supportive for running, gym or just walking. Enjoy!
When you find a shoe you like, buy lots of them - you never know if you're going to like the next iteration as much. The GT-2000-10 is probably my favourite ever running shoe in terms of reliability, comfort and feel. I over-pronate slightly, so value a support shoe for the everyday runs. I don't race in this shoe, but value it for medium to long-distance training. It's actually fine on the track as well for normal training (it's good to use carbon sparingly). This is the third pair of GT-2000 10s I've had, not including a pair of the GT-2000-10 GTX as well, which is also great. I've retired each pair at about 1000k, and each has been in ostensibly fine condition at that point.I also prefer this to the Kayano; for me it's more forgiving and adaptable.
Solid Shoe. Maybe not the best for doing explosive athletic training but is suitable for it if needed. Great running shoe and has generous cushioning and still be low to the ground and responsive. Upper feels very light and durable. Love the look and design. ASICS quality for sure. Stability and midsole curve is there but is subtle, so it can be used easily for those with flat feet or pronate like myself while allowing to still really activate my own arch and strengthen it in my training. The arch support hits that sweet spot of giving mild support while allowing you to be athletic. The Gel Nimbus series is more maximalist on support and this is a good level down on the max support stability type of shoe.I Run, wear casually, weight lift, and do athletic agility ... MoreSolid Shoe. I run about 20 miles a week. Sometimes more, sometime less, depending on life's constraints. I wanted to try this shoe after a review I read suggested it was a better option than the Kayano Lite 2. After a few weeks of running and I'm not sure that review was accurate. The shoes feel good. They run and fit well. But I think I was getting more support and more cushion from the Kayano Lite 2 than this model. They also have developed some wear and tear beyond what I would expect at this point (less than 60 miles). Wear and tear isn't such a big deal if it's primarily aesthetic, but in this case it's the sole of the shoe and the feeling that there isn't much between my toes and the road. It's a distraction during my run and I wonder how much more road these shoes have ... MoreI run about 20 miles a week. Sometimes more, sometime less, depending on life's constraints. The Kayano Lite 2 held up better where it mattered for me and so while the GT-2000 10 was a little less expensive, it's lack of durability may keep me from buying this model again.
I have been always wearing Asics UK size 5.5 for years, but GT-2000 5.5 is too small. I brought the shoes on the outlet website and wanted to return to the store at Canary Wharf London but got rejected. The store manager refused to let me return shoes on the ground that the shoes are not in the "unworn condition". There needs to be some common sense here, that one has to wear the shoes once to figure out if they fit or not. For me the shoes are in perfect conditions. Please see below for the pictures. In addition I pointed out to the store manager:1. It's Asics' fault that GT-2000 model is not true to its size. I has been wearing Asics for years and always had size 5.5. However GT-2000 size 5.5 is too small that I need a size 6. As I did not expect size 5.5 would ... MoreI have been always wearing Asics UK size 5.5 for years, but GT-2000 5.5 is too small. However GT-2000 size 5.5 is too small that I need a size 6. As I did not expect size 5.5 would not fit, I wore the shoes once to school to pick up kids. In total no more than 1km.2. Asics does have a "Road Tested Shoes" program that they can resell minimally worn shoes at a discounted price. This is a great way that the shoes do not get thrown away and save the environment.Despite I pointed out the above two reasons, the store manager still refused to take my shoes. I understand rules are rules, but I appreciate some common sense and human understanding in this situation.I just had to pay another pair of shoes with size 6.
I bought these shoes last year because I work in the medical field and needed a shoe that could withstand long hours of standing/walking. After a few months of wear I noticed the fabric lining on both heels starting to wear away, creating holes. Over time this only worsened and got to a point where I could no longer wear the shoes because the plastic material was now poking and creating blisters on my heels. At the time, I reached out to ASICS customer service twice informing them of the problem, providing multiple pictures in the correct format of what had happened. On both occasions customer service replied saying that the pictures provided were not in JPG format (they were) and that they could not review my claim. These were the first and now last pairs of ASICS ... MoreI bought these shoes last year because I work in the medical field and needed a shoe that could withstand long hours of standing/walking.
