Recycled and sustainable materials bring high performance to the men's ASICS GEL-Kayano Lite 2. Designers built the Kayano Lite 2 with an engineered mesh upper for breathable coverage. The mesh contains more recycled materials than typical running shoe mesh to help divert waste from the landfill. ASICS designed the GEL-Kayano Lite 2 for lightweight stability by constructing it atop a wider base. The expanded footprint provides more surface area on the ground, which creates a more stable landing and toe off. To soften the ride, ASICS used its FLYTEFOAM midsole and signature GEL cushioning technology in the rearfoot and forefoot. Plus, the midsole foam is made from organically derived materials, so itrsquos easier on your feet and on the planet.

Love these shoes. The durable material makes them last so much longer than comparable ones that have a thin fabric around the toe area that quickly wears through. Very comfortable as well. Use these ones mainly for everyday use so went for the black colour. Have another identical pair in blue used solely for the gym. Would highly recommend for comfort and durability.

Having run both Kayano Lite and Kayano 28 I can say they use vastly different means to stabilize and control pronation and I prefer the Lite, which use cleverly designed midsole and heel bevels angles. The Lite turns quicker, have thicker stack and slightly more cushioning properties. Tons of outsole grip. It is the best stability shoes I’ve experienced so far. It’s not perfect because the cushioning is not soft enough for me, and transitions sometimes gets hampered by the huge heels. Def not for neutral gait or those seeking soft squishy midsoles. I find them best used for short recovery runs.

the Kayano is the top of the line Asics. However, the quality has been going down. Personally, while I love the arch support, I also need the ankle support and don't like the new take on the traditional ankle support that had been a staple of the model for so long. I hope the plastic arch support comes back soon. Other than that, very pleased as always, this is my 8th pair of Kayanos.

Terrific cross trainer / school shoe combination. My son has long and narrow feet. I purchased sole inserts as well for additional support due to the shape of my son's feet.Easy to wear and long lasting pair of shoes.
This is the third time I have bought these shoes. This pair are nowhere as comfortable and even though I have been wearing them for a month, the cushioning seems to have gone. I do a lot of walking but my previous shoes of the same brand are over a year old and are still more comfortable then these go figure
I normally take a 11 D but this shoe is roomy. I had to really tighten the laces to get a comfortable fit. the laces are miles too long resulting in them flopping around during the run. They are OK for running giving average cushioning and support - nothing special. I have run exclusively in ASICS shoes for many years and find theses ones disappointing. They are not worth the outrageous cost.
ASICS stopped selling the 550TR in leather for adults. The new product the GT1000 appeared similar. I need leather for durability. The shoe gave me trouble from the start it seemed too short. I hit a US 12 1/2. I thought my foot must be slipping forward so I used the runner loop in the laces. This didn’t help but I persisted hoping it would break in and come right. But my toes were being crushed nails polishing and shocks abrading. Unfortunately I had to return to the almost worn out 550’s. As part of the process I switched the insoles. It was then that I found the old 550 insoles did not fit in the new 1000 shoes without buckling. The size difference is small but significant. The shoe is made well other than it being the wrong size.
I have had a lot of trouble finding a show that I can use to do work in the backyard. Previously I was using a pair of ASICS joggers that were very confortable but which had a soft fabric top. They were fantyastic and comfortable but just not built for hard work in the yard. I was looking for a shoe that had a leather top and hence more durable. I tried a pair of New Balance but they were not comfortable and looked liked weraing out my little toe before wearing out the shoe. Then I found the ASICS GT-1000 LE 2 - it has been a spectacular improvement - both sturdy and comfortable - just what I needed. Thank you ASICS and the Athlete's foot for the very helpful service.
I'm a long time Kayano user; I've probably gone through about 30 pairs over the years. I bought a pair of Kayano Lite 2 shoes, ran in them for about 15 miles, and ended up returning them because the fit was way too snug in the forefoot. I felt like it was putting too much pressure on the top of my foot when I'd run, which made them uncomfortable. That said the cushioning on these shoes felt awesome (much more responsive than regular Kayano, but with seemingly plenty of support), and these were 0.8oz lighter than regular kayano in my size. Hopefully they'll fix the fit issue in a future iteration of this shoe, or move some of improvements in this shoe across to the regular Kayano.
firstly I visited in store to purchase these but they were out of stock. I was dubious about online ordering, what if sizing was wrong etc. In store staff were knowledgeable and explained exchange if necessary.second these shoes are better than expectations. My son finds them very comfortable / supportive and the upper is a leather like material. IMO making them stronger than the mesh material of the previous ones he had.Your prices are better than competitors too!Overall I am very happy with the experience with the Athletes Foot. Thank you
