Light, Comfy, springy and really nice cushioning and support, basically all what i wanted. You have to to order 1 size bigger, even if you wear other Asics shoes. I have 2 other Asics model shoes run 44 correctly, this one i needed 45. A pair 45.5 would even have been better, unfortunately not available.

Still trying to find a comparable shoe to the Nike Alphafly. The Alphafly is my favorite shoe for running and for seemingly similar effort, I run 20-30 seconds faster per mile.I was hopeful the Metaspeed edge would approach that performance. For only about $50 per pair less I was expecting more. Don't get me wrong, they are a good shoe that is light and supportive. However there is not the noticeable bounce that you get with the Alphafly.I need to put a few more miles on them to really see what they are capable of but not really wowed right now.

The fit is true to size for me. The toe box has ample room. Highly cushioned heel with moderate cushioning in forefoot. Responsive ride. I think a good half marathon race shoe and also for tempo/speed work on the road. Not sure if there is enough forefoot cushioning for marathon racing for many runners.

I over pronate and I was looking for a marathon shoe that provides me stability while running. The Metaspeed Edge does not feel as if you have a carbon plate, however it does provide you propulsion as you increase your cadence. Because you don't feel you have a carbon plate, this is an ideal shoe most definitely for runners who want to use a carbon plate shoe but have been hesitant to run in them because of the bouncy awkward feeling. I am a pronator runner and this shoe provides me stability and ease to run without feeling that carbon plate feeling under my feet. Definitely recommend this shoe!
They are harsher on my legs than my Nike next% 2’s. I used to have every edition of the gel-nimbus until I realized how much I was heel striking I was going which resulted in IT band issues. These help you get up on your forefoot but they beat your legs up. I bought them for Ironman world champs in Kona but will be racing in the Nike’s instead.
Have only done one short run, but as always ASICS just works for me. I was worried about the stability but the shoes felt good from the start. They are a bit smaller than the other ASICS I have, but still worked fine. The colours well speak for itself, and by far the ugliest shoes I have ever bought therefore only 4 stars.
Light weight and comfortable enough for a wide foot. I normally run in the ASICS GT2000 for daily training. The Metaspeed's are snug for now. I hope they don't rub me raw during the marathon we will see. Asics you should make a wide racing shoe for us with sasquach feet. Thanks
I was very excited to get these on my feet. They feel great on foot and lock your foot down nicely. They have a different feel to the vapourfly - more like a traditional shoe. I went for a tempo run in them and while they felt good I didn't feel anything special. I looked at the stats and saw that my cadence was the same as it would be on a normal run. The next time I took them out for 8 x 1km repeats. I made a point of increasing my cadence when I felt tired and wow. They came into their own and without an increase in perceived effort, just a quicker cadence, they felt fantastic and I maintained my pace. Have used them since and same result - great when you increase your cadence.
When the Edges came to market, I purchased a pair from this ASICS website. Before I made the purchase, I used the website size check and compared against 3 other brands. In all cases, ASICS recommended I buy a pair 1-1.5 sizes smaller than normal. I ended up purchasing a pair sized 0.5 less than normal just in case. When they arrived, they were completely snug. I would have sent them back for a bigger size but they are now all sold out. Therefore, I gave them a run out for 6 miles and now have blisters for the first time in a long time. Really unimpressed. It’s a shame because the shoes themselves are lovely…more stable than a number of the supershoes …and so was really excited to see what difference they could make to a cadence runner like me.
This is a very fast shoe, great for long distance. With all shoes in the portfolio, the only choice is really either the Metaspeed Edge or Metaspeed Sky. The Metaspeed Edge has less foam in the front part and bounces a little bit less when hitting it with lot of small strides. Otherwise, there are only no differences.
