This shoe is simply fantastic in every way! This shoe offers a more springy (Squooshy) cushioning than any other shoe I've ever worn. It's so comfortable to wear for running, walking, standing, and even working in. It's the best running shoe I've ever worn. I have 4 pairs and will most likely get another pair before they're discontinued. The Novablast 4 is firmer than this and won't offer you the comfort this shoe does. Great job Asics on this shoe!!!

Let me first start off saying thank you for your design of your Nova blast 3 shoe. Let me also say I'm just a regular blue collar worker who works 12 hours on their feet. Therefore I can say I really hate my feet I hate being on them if there is too much pain. A regular work shoe has no padding underneath and not a lot of support. I was looking for a shoe that I could wear that would not give me any pain at all. The Nova blast 3s when I looked up on videos about them came up to be the top two or top number one shoe for comfort. At first, I thought the NovaBlast 2 were the most comfortable shoes ever. My usual shoe is the Cumulus, which I've been wearing for over 10 years, but I found them to be getting tight in the forefoot. I run marathons and weekly training is around 35 - 45 miles. I liked the 2 so much I ordered the NovaBlast 3. Unfortunately, I started to develop hip pain after logging around 200 miles in the NovaBlast 2. I didn't make the connection to the shoe until I noticed that my inner foot was dropping (sinking upon impact). It was like the cushion gave way under the inner side of my foot. This doesn't happen in the Cumulus or any other running shoe I've used. It's not a stride issue or anything like that. Of course, eventually I had to try the NovaBlast 3, which I only used once when I first received them. I thought it may have been a flaw with only the one pair. Nope. Hip pain started coming back and I noticed once again my inner foot was sinking. My wife even notice that my foot looked odd while running behind me. Threw both pairs in the garbage. These shoes seem to work fine for others, but not me, which is too bad because they are comfortable. It's more important to me that I run without pain!! Wish I had kept them for a photo, you could actually see they were tilted inward.

Most fun shoe I've ever ran in. My first venture away from gel (30+ years injury free) and so far this is my favorite shoe ever. Feels like running on a gym matt in my socks. Wouldn't change a thing. Marathon pace is usually 3hrs +/- would feel comfortable training or racing in these shoes. Never thought one shoe could do both!Bought vs 3 since reviews said vs 4 was not as bouncy due to eco foam. Also "eco" virtue signaling turns me off. Just please continue making good shoes!
Best running shoe I've ever owned, I've worn the GT-2000s for several years and last year switched to Kayanos which I considered an upgrade. Novablast by far outperforms these two previous. SO SO comfortable and bouncy as it is mentioned. It took me 2-3 runs to get used to it since it feels high when you put them on but boy are they awesome! I do a about 17miles during the week and then a long run on the weekend, 8-10miles. Last two weekends I did a 12miler and 14miler and they did not disappoint. One thing that I wish ASICs will improve is the bottom of the sole, feels and is pretty flat without much grip unlike their other shoes. I'm not asking for a trail shoe but better grip on the bottom can be improved.
I really like these shoes. They are my current standard choice for asphalt/concrete running training. They are cushy and bouncy, while also allowing me to run faster if I choose to. I recently did my 5K PB in them. I believe that thanks to these shoes I improved my running form. These are neutral shoes, and thanks to the softness of the sole foam I discovered that I'm slightly pronating, which even computer imaging of my feet did not pick up. Knowing this helped me a lot to adjust how I run as well. I also have a bone deformity where my Achilles tendon attaches to the bone and these NovaBlast 3 shoes do not irritate it which is really great! If you are a neutral runner, and want an upgrade over your typical beginner running trainers, these shoes should be on the top ... MoreI really like these shoes. Purchased this shoe to replace previous daily trainer (NB 880V13,) which I had been well pleased with. Like the NB, this shoe presents smartly, and the midnight/olive oil livery is fantastic. The fit gave me pause. Initially, I did not sense that locked-in feel around the heel. However, I found that once I had laced-up and sat out on my initial run the fit I was looking for seemed to be there. The shoe felt light and bouncy throughout the 5.5 mi breaking run. Dry conditions didn't allow me to put to test the traction of the outsole, but it inspired confidence in the dry on asfalt. It was a balmy 62 degrees Fahrenheit, but the upper appeared to be fairly breathable. I usually use Nike and Hoka, but wanted to expand to other brand, and decided to try Novablast. I didn't like old Asics heavy running shoes, so I didn't think about Asics for a long time, but I heard and read great reviews about these shoes, and I thought Novablast is different from the old heavy Asics that I am familiar with. It's a bit heavier than my Mach 5 (my favourite training shoes), but lighter than Air Zoom Tempo or Zoom fly. Cushion is pretty good, as a lot of people say. It's great for training runs on the slow side. Wish it is a bit lighter. Upper is too thick and adding weight. The outer sole seems durable, although I am not the loud sound the outer sole makes. I guess it's a trade off against durability. As many mentioned, I also heard that the grip is not goo, in wet condition. I so far avoid running with them when it's raining or wet. I probably keep this policy. The green color of the sole is really cool. Although the gray upper color is not clean. I don't like the pattern they put on the upper. I think the shoes look better without the pattern on the upper. Overall, I am happy with Novablast for training. Wish it's a bit lighter, and the upper design is simpler.
Comfortable and secure upper. Narrow. Like all ASICS shoes it seems unnecessarily pointy in the toe making the shoe seem almost a half size bigger than it is. Toe box volume is also low. Good lock down though. Heel has too much padding to make up for an otherwise subpar heel lock down, but with the padding it works. Foam is great. When walking around my foot rotates inward at toe off in a way that feels odd like the foam is collapsing on the medial side of the shoe. That feeling goes away when running and my first run I set my second fastest 5k time of the year without trying but the shoe is also extremely unstable along with the liveliness. Running over some rocks along a railroad track the shoe was rolling over left and right like no ones business. It doesn’t ... MoreComfortable and secure upper. Narrow. I run 70~80 miles per week (some weeks over 100) and have a lot of shoes in my rotation for various requirements: speed/races, daily training, tempo work, easy/recovery running, and more varieties for different types of trails. Of all these different needs and running situations, the daily trainer definitely gets the most miles so, naturally, I became very interested in the Novablast 3 based on all the hype out on the Internet about it, including reviews claiming it "The Shoe of the Year" and "Best Daily Trainer" ever, etc. And these proclamations were from reviewers I respect and trust, so I just had to get it.I normally like to wear white colorways for road running (always black or something dark for the trails) but decided to opt for the cool Black/Amber one ... MoreI run 70~80 miles per week (some weeks over 100) and have a lot of shoes in my rotation for various requirements: speed/races, daily training, tempo work, easy/recovery running, and more varieties for different types of trails. I must say, this shoe is probably the one I waited for with the most anticipation of all the shoes I've bought and owned, so my expectations were quite high. I wondered, "Will this shoe really live up to the hype?"Well, I can unequivocally say that it does. For me, at least. I know that a single shoe model won't appeal to everyone and I already see that there are some who don't buy into the hype. When I unboxed, I was taken back by the stunning sleek look and also how large it is in person compared to what I've been seeing on the Internet but, at the same time, how light it was. It's a lot of shoe but it felt impossibly light for its imposing size with the massive midsole. The initial step-in feel was very pleasant and the upper wrapped around the feet in a comfortable and cozy manner. This is one of those rare shoes that feels broken-in and that conforms to your feet the minute you step into it for the first time. I thought, "This is definitely off to a good start." After lacing up, I took a few walks and ran in place and immediately liked the feel and the bounce that the midsole provided. It was soft but not in a squishy way. There was just the right amount of bounce and energy return. I started getting excited and couldn't wait to get out a long run.Over the past two days after receiving the Novablast 3, I've put in 25 miles at pace ranging from 7'/mile to 10'/mile and it has given me nothing but smiles with each mile. It's smooth, energetic, bouncy, comfortable, and can definitely keep up with the faster paces. I'm still getting used to the big midsole (especially in the heel area with the wide width) although it hasn't slowed me down. Even though it's lightweight, you still feel the volume and girth of the midsole as you go through your gait cycles.Personally, I probably don't need so much cushioning and such a wide platform. And I agree with another reviewer that I could do with less of a heel-to-toe drop. Around 5mm would have been fine but it's not an issue for me at all. It isn't the most nimble shoe out there but that is expected with the stack height and the wide base. This is for straight ahead running and it's really, really good at it.I don't think I would race with the Novablast 3 or when I'm shooting for my PBs. I have other plated shoes for such endeavors. But, for virtually everything else (which is around 80~90% of my road running time), I'd say that Novablast 3 will now be my main shoe. It seems perfectly well suited for daily training and tempo runs as well as easy slower-pace recovery running.I can easily alternate between the two (daily training and easy/recovery) with this one shoe during the same run. I can't say there is another shoe that can do both very well at the same time. Daily trainers (like most racing shoes) often aren't good for long easy-miles and want you to run fast and feel clunky when running slow. Max-cushioned easy/recovery shoes tend to be heavy (over 10oz), so you don't feel like picking up the pace. The Novablast 3, to me, is somewhere in between but also do both very well. I could probably race or do speed work with it as well but it'll be about an ounce heavier and without the carbon plate, so it's obviously not optimum for such running.Overall, I'm so happy with the Novablast 3 that I have added two more pairs in different colorways and the TR version for the trails - albeit mild smoothened hard-packed dirt trails (definitely not for technical trails). This shoe will get most my miles and time over the next year or so. I may put in 25~30 miles per week with the Novablast 3 including the trails with the TR version) with it so it'll be good for me to rotate with several pairs.Running Shoe of the Year? I'm inclined to agree. This is the very first time that I've bought multiple pairs of a shoe model at the same time. It makes me enjoy my runs more than any other and that's the best complement I can give it. It's not the fastest shoe, it's not the most cushioned or comfortable shoe, but it is the most versatile in that it can do a lot of things really well. But, most of all, it is a very fun shoe that brings a smile to my face as I run and put in the miles. I really can't ask anymore from a shoe.
