As a running beginner I found the Contend 8 shoes perfect for my needs. They are comfortable with spacious toebox, good arch support and light.The price I paid for was $99 and this was outstanding for its quality.Previously I bought the Contend 7 which are similar but less firm.I would definately recommend this running shoe to anyone interested in walking or running.

I usually wear a 7.5 but these shoes are really short in length. Had to swap to an 8.5 instead.While previous reviews mention this, I was still taken by surprise as I wear a different style of Asics for netball (which are true to normal sizing).Lovely colour and quite comfortable (both secure and buoyant) once the size was right.Bought for running, but so far have only walked in them. Good price.Happy with purchase!

Bought these recently at $80 clearance/member's price, what a bargain! Once you get used to the shoes, they are actually really comfy and supportive; for daily walking or jogging. My guess is they will last me 6-12 months with daily use.Compared to Adidas and Nike, I'm glad I decided on these Asics! Worth paying the money in comparison to spending $50 on a cheap Target pair that aren't comfortable at all.

Above average shoes, but not as good as the Gel Trigger. I have a pair of Gel Triggers which are great, but do however make my feet feel too hot on a warm day. I wear them all day at work and I am standing most of the day. So I bought the Contend 8 since it has the mesh top. It is definitely a cooler shoe but I have also found that my feet and ankles start to hurt in the afternoon. So probably not as much support as the Gel Trigger.
Highly advise trying for size before buying. I ordered two pairs of shoes online at one time in the same size (my usual size) from two different brands, and these were tighter than expected (the others were prefect). Fortunately, they do fit, but they are a very firm fit.Extremely comfortable. My first pair of Asics, and I'd definitely buy them again.
really love these shoes. but be aware that gelcontend 7 are smaller then gel contend 6 and grl contend 5. so i would recommend sizing 0.5 up. when i bought my regular size my toes were touching the end of the shoes and it is annoying. but other than the size issue withthis specific gel contend 7, these shoes are perfect! for walking, working and standing on them all day long, sport!! running, walking, functional workout, anything, even when travelling abroad in a big city- can walk all they on them and it feels perfect. serously one of the best products asics has!!
I've only tried to wear these a few times, but each time they gave me blisters. My foot fits the length of the shoe, but the back of the shoe curves up into the back of my foot and rubs. I actually bought them in store, but there weren't many options in my price range, and I thought they'd be OK once I wore them in. I'm usually size 6.5-7, but I bought size 7.5. I tried the size 8s on and they seemed a bit long but still tight around the ankle. I've tried to stretch them but they won't budge. I can only hobble in them, so I can't imagine running in them. A waste of money, and I hate throwing things out but they cause too much pain.
I bought two pairs for my daughter and myself. I am trying to get my teenage daughter to exercise. She couldn't walk or run with her other sneakers, except this, because she'll get pain in the arch. As for me, I'm a regular long distance runner and I have plantar fasciitis. I only wear Asics gel shoes because they have the right cushioning, perfect fit, roomy for orthotics insoles and are very durable. I bought them through Click and Collect from my regular store at Knox. Their service is excellent. I am a very happy customer!
I got into running for the first time in my life during lockdown and needed an affordable pair or running shoes. Without trying them in person first, I had to do some research first to make sure they were a good fit for my foot shape and arch. I am pleasantly pleased with them and have done about 10 runs so far in them. I'm not sure if I'll get them again cause when lockdown ends, I'd like to be professionally fitted. If you're looking for an affordable, entry level running shoe that looks good these are a good option.
Brought these online for my daughter, her last pair of Asics were a Women's US7 so I thought same brand shouldnt be an issue with sizing so I went to a size US8 (which is what she is with other shoe's). Couldn't have been more wrong. Ended up with a Women's US11. She's 10 years old and really tall for her ages but seriously how can this style of sneaker be so out with its sizing its really beyond a joke.
