ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 buffed-up design with chart-topping thermal performance. From top to bottom, the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 has been radically improved to accommodate the impressive new Ampere chips from NVIDIA and to deliver the next wave of gaming performance innovation to the market. A fresh design and more metal surrounds a grouping of Axial-tech fans. Last gen's uniform fan layout has been usurped by a new rotation scheme and specialized roles for central and auxiliary fans. Below the blades, a larger, more impressive heatsink is ready for the most demanding thermal loads. The PCB has some new tricks up its sleeves, and even the backplate has received some performance-boosting changes. You've been waiting for the latest and greatest in GPU design - and this is it.

Thankfully I have a full tower Cooler Master Cosmos case so there was plenty of room to accommodate this GPU but even still getting the mounting screws aligned and in place was a challenge due to the modular case design as well as the bulk of the heat sink and fans. The card came to life and looks great along with my Asus ROG Crosshair Hero VIII motherboard. Compared to my RTX 2070 Super I find this card runs a bit warmer and the fans are somewhat louder. Not a big issue as I expected as much from this power hungry card. In gaming though, this is where this card really shines. In limited testing I find that this card is giving me around double the performance of my 2070 Super. That is saying a lot as the 2070 was a good performance card in my opinion. Personally I believe my system could handle any game I chose to play with little effort.Out of the box Asus has this card overclocked and pushed pretty much close to the limits. With some tweaking you could probably get a little more out of the core and there is some performance to be gained from increasing the memory clock but considering the performance out of the box I see little reason to push it harder. As far as would I recommend this card? If money is no object and you want to match your other Asus components then by all means I would recommend it. Otherwise I would probably suggest just dropping the coin on a founders edition card and tweaking the settings. Nvidia did a good job on their cooling solution and you could probably get the same results as this card while saving $600 in the process. The only other thing I would say is that the price on this card should not be $600 more that the FE card. Yes it looks nice with the ARGB lighting and Asus is giving you a warranty on an overclocked GPU from the factory but I honestly feel the premium would be more in line around the $2k mark. Sadly, that won't be happening any time soon considering the shortages currently affecting the market!

Fantastic! Highly recommend! All I did was unplug my old NVIDIA 2080 card, plug this one in, and it worked right away. The current NVIDIA drivers I already had, seamlessly integrated. Everything ran faster and looked better. No fussing around with anything else. Also, the noise complaints are highly over rated. It sits 3 feet away from me and I can barely hear it. When it does get spooled up at max fan speed, it is quieter than a small desk fan. When playing elder scrolls online with max settings, my GPU temp is running about 32 degrees.

This card is absolutely mind blowing. I had an rog matrix 2080ti which was one of the best 2080tis money could buy before this card. I just got the card as I didn't really have a need at this cards launch but with the prices coming down and availability coming back I went ahead and purchased the card and I am extremely impressed. I know that the 40 series is coming soon but I have no plans for 8k anything anytime soon and this does amazing with 4k games. I can pretty much play any AAA title with the maximum settings and get around 80-140 fps. I am running an older setup with a z370 mobo, 64gigs of memory and an I7 8700k. I love my setup and this card exceeds all my needs and the max ive seen it heat up is about 74 degrees

With the GPU market right now, some might argue that the current generation is overpriced, but the 3090 is in a unique position. Because the 4090 is only projected to mine 15 percent faster than a 3090, the 3090 will have far better resale value than most cards that have been produced over the years. It's a win win for gamers and the miners. With that out of the way, this card is an absolute beast. It's literally 3.5 times faster than a PS5. My 2070s was just starting to falter with some newer titles but now my monitor isn't even good enough to challenge this thing, RIP. The 3090 has inredible memory quality and can absolutely chew through tasks like encoding, mining, scrubbing through videos, deep learning and many other tasks. The 3090 has inredible memory quality and can absolutely chew through tasks like encoding, mining, scrubbing through videos, deep learning and many other tasks. The fact a 6600xt is over 800 bucks in most markets says it all. There are no good deals, but as an investment if you plan to sell and get a new card next generation like me, this card actually becomes a better investment than most originally thought. The card is beautiful. Machining quality is outstanding with no defects and the brush finish adds class. The led light when set to white also looks crisp. One of the best looking cards ever designed.Memory gets hot but not as hot as the cheaper aib models. Watercooling or a better backplate can solve this entirely. Mine will get sandwiched between two waterblocks. Power delivery is also fantastic. This card is a great overclocker, and no game can make the Strix 3090 kill itself unlike other inferior designs on the market. This thing is an absolute unit and I'd recommend it to anyone willing to cough up a kidney, cause used market 2 years later will make it worth it!There really isn't a better gaming card out there. Thanks microcenter, for helping me build my dream PC by supplying real gamers with GPUs!

Powerful GPU, downside is the GPU is powerful...

I replaced the Mobo with the same model and it works.Asside from who knows what ever nightmare that was all about, the FANS. the fans are gonna troll you fiercely. my ASUS Strixx 1080ti stopped fans under 60c, which was anytime i wasnt gaming. my Rig is cool. The ASUS Strixx 3090 though has a wattage condition as well as temp, so running an 1440p ultrawide at 100hz just requires over the fixed 50watt threashold, even if under 50/60c so they always run at 53%. The GPU tweakII software doesnt seem to work at all with this card, give it up. My Motherboards AI Tweak 3 software (Asus) does seem to have impact on the cards behaviour though. Now this card has made my system far hotter overall, and to the heading of this review. Because the card is more powerful, my CPU has more room to work (AMD 5900x), so the CPU does more work. Overall this means everything is louder, hotter. Its not just more performance for the same cost, its more power draw, louder fans to deal with the cooling and a CPU that is doing more work so the CPUs fans are going at it more.I've had to redo my case fans curve, CPU curve and i'm still trying to balance the GPUs curve. it's prone to sudden temp spikes now which lead to a sudden high intensity fan session for 5-10seconds.Probably best you just get a 3080 folks.

One of the best RTX 3090s out there! and the RGB is beautufil, but not as bright as I wish it would but still enough to see through my tinted black Corsair 5000d Airflow case,I was initially gonna go with the 3080 Ti from EVGA but I seen they had this baby in stock at my local bestbuy so i price matched it to amazon and bought it and I am happy with my purchase, The reason I went with a 3090 over a 3080 Ti was to future proof my self my build a little bit although nothing in technology is ever future proof tbh lol,but i intend to get into video editing , photoshop , streaming live and just want the best of the best tbh lol , i think its ridiculous that the previous 2080 Ti had 24gb of vram and the new 3080 Ti has only 12gb smh , maybe the 3090 is just a money grab ... MoreOne of the best RTX 3090s out there! and the RGB is beautufil, but not as bright as I wish it would but still enough to see through my tinted black Corsair 5000d Airflow case,I was initially gonna go with the 3080 Ti from EVGA but I seen they had this baby in stock at my local bestbuy so i price matched it to amazon and bought it and I am happy with my purchase, The reason I went with a 3090 over a 3080 Ti was to future proof my self my build a little bit although nothing in technology is ever future proof tbh lol,but i intend to get into video editing , photoshop , streaming live and just want the best of the best tbh lol , i think its ridiculous that the previous 2080 Ti had 24gb of vram and the new 3080 Ti has only 12gb smh , maybe the 3090 is just a money grab , but I payed the price for this one because it comes with RGB and also a triple fan coolingIf you are just gaming and want a GPU for that specific subject , Id say to go for the 3080 Ti however, if you are like me and just want the best of the best , RGB and a better cooling system than the Founders Edition , go with this oneDepending on the temps in your house , this GPU runs pretty cool , it usually idles anywhere from 30c -45c MAXIf you are into overclocking and can put it on a waterblock then you can really take advantage of its full potential!3090s are also one of the best mining GPUS, atleast for ETHEREUM ,*****also keep in mind that if you might need to upgrade your Power Supply unit ,and if you have an old CPU, you also can potientially bottle neck this powerhouse of a GPU.It is also pretty big so make sure that you can even fit this gpu in your case! , it fit well in my Corsair 5000d Airflow midtower case ,PC Specs :MSI Z690 Edge DDR4 - MOTHERBOARDIntel 12th Gen i7 12700k - CPUCorsair DDR4 3600mhz - RAMCorsair ICUE H150 Elite Capellix CPU AIO ,EVGA GT 850w Auto Eco Mode

This GPU is power house for graphics and rendering. All my games run at 4k 120fps on ultra settings. All game settings maxed out. Every single game. very impressed. My only concern is the memory temps. Specifically the VRAM on the back of the card. lots of air flow will be required to run it.Mount a decent size fan close to the back of the card and point it right at the retention bracket that holds the cooler on the card.Just by adding the fan dropped VRAM temps by 8c or less depending on ambient rooms temps

The ROG Strix 3090 OC Debunked

I've read all kinds of stuff about this GPU and I have gone through quite the experience myself. Having owned this for 2 weeks, I was still able to quickly discover incredibly concerning issues.First, this GPU cannot run on an analog PSU so even the ROG Thor can't handle this GPU. You would think it would be a match made in heaven and that 1200w is more than enough but the problem is that the Over Current Protection will constantly shut down the PC.this wouldn't happen with a digital PSU. The intense power spikes that only come from ultra high settings (not benchmarking) will make you realize that certain things only work best with specific parts. So a Be Quiet Dark Pro 12 is would be the absolute best. The other problem is that even if you have the right PSU, you now have to worry about temperatures. Not just VRAM temps, GPU temps, but the temps on the physical back plate itself. Do not ignore if it gets passed 130 degrees celsius. Mine did, and would should down the whole PC when it got that got from the outside. I was sure something was no right and upon closer inspection of the shroud from the outside, behind the logo/word GEFORCE on the GPU, I could see missing thermal pad. There seems to be missing thermal pad in all of the 3090's, which is what is leading to coil whine. I never had coil whine, I wasn't able to use it at hot enough temperatures for prolonged periods but I imagine if I did, that the coil whine would present itself within a month, This is speculation but a really good hypothesis nevertheless.Asus RMA, well it seems like tech like to play games. I explain something and they do the opposite, then say "We could not reproduce your problem". If you explain that you have a problem when gaming on high settings, they run a benchmark and send you the results and say "I don't see a problem". If you tell them the GPU gets too hot (to 130 celsius) on the outside, even after saying its the back of the GPU, tech sends a snapshot of CPU-Z thermal results, which again have nothing to do with what I said. I don't understand how they get anything done properly in this manner back at ASUS RMA.After repeating myself twice, it seems like they finally decided to READ and then realize there was in fact something very wrong an I am receiving a brand new replacement. My first expensive GPU and this is what I went through. I asked them to make sure that they test the 3090 (MY 3090) with my power supply, so I sent them my power supply too. So today I am receiving the new GPU but they still have my power supply so I still won't be able to use this.As you can see, if you have to RMA anything, you gotta be smarter than them just to get it done right. If you value your mental health, maybe stay away from this product. But if your a true enthusiast, this won't stop you, you will be happy to find and solve issues, having to play around with power supplies and getting no straight answers if you need an RMA. After all this, I can't wait to actually use a 3090, I've owned one for almost 3 weeks now and it's done nothing but kinda destroy my Twitch channels ability ot even get Affiliate because I haven't been able to stream during all this.

This Thing DESTROYS Everything I Throw At It

It's laughable how this GPU plows through games at max settings. I found that it was getting me nearly 240 FPS maxing out the WW1 shooter, Verdun. Previously I couldn't max it out and I would get 60 FPS. I bought this to run MSFS 2020 on Max Settings. It delivers and pairs nicely with my 5950x. Granted, I am running it MAXED OUT and getting 40-60 FPS. That game pushes the limits of the GPU. COIL WHINE is nonexsistent if you use V-sync. What I discovered is that without V-sync, the GPU would run on Max speed and get most of my games above100-300 FPS. Instead of using all that power, I just capped the FPS with V-sync and the GPU barely breaks a sweat. Seriously, it's funny how this GPU barely works on some really demanding titles. It works hard on MSFS 2020 though, ... MoreIt's laughable how this GPU plows through games at max settings. I found that it was getting me nearly 240 FPS maxing out the WW1 shooter, Verdun. NOTE - GET AN 850W Power Supply, you're gonna need it. 750W is just enough room, give yourself 100 more watts to allow for the overclocking of this GPU. HOW TO BUY - I used an app called Hot Stock to get this at MSRP. Do not pay scalper pricing for this GPU.

Ultimate Gamer's Graphic Card for 2021 and beyond.

I bought two of this that I have planned for a SLI system. Turns out for everything that's not 4k gaming, SLI through NVLink is not even necessary for the cards to work together during most workloads.Gaming, streaming, video processing, computating complex set of numbers to be verified over a blockchain node, all works flawlessley without any limitations set on by the menufacturers. With a single 3090 card, you can play all the latest games at 4k ultra settings on 120hz screen with gsync on (because frames will fluactuate between 110~118 range).if you are an atypical "disable and turn off every screen sync settings and running it raw" type of person, you may have better luck pairing this with a 1440p/240hz or 1080p/360hz monitor for that ultimate out of the box ... MoreI bought two of this that I have planned for a SLI system.
