I upgraded from an older Asus router and this was much need. It's speed is so much quicker. Haven't had trouble while playing video games online with the family. Four gaming systems going at once; plus the son is on his Chromebook; and streaming on Roku all at the same time. No buffering. The setup was quick and being able to have each band have their own name and password is awesome. Being a parent and wanting to make sure the kids aren't watching things that are inappropriate the parental controls is decent. Not as good as Netgear but I don't have to pay for a subscription so to me that's way better plus it has built in security. Super easy to setup just scan QR code on the router with the app. To make changes, you use the app instead of logging into the router each time. The setup wizard is pretty straight forward that its a no brainer. You want qos, just click a button and done. You can even prioritize gaming, streaming or just surfing the web. Plenty of features and you can also extend you network coverage in you home with additional Rog devices to create a mesh or in my case i used my older router at a AP for the other side of the house. After a couple of firmware updates, this router has been rock solid. Had to do a little research to get it set up because it has a lot of options. Ended up going with separate 2.4 and 5 ghz SSIDs because a couple of old devices didn’t like a single channel with “auto” directing by the router (Smart Connect), and a guest network for some old WiFi thermostats. Overall, it’s very fast, good coverage, and no device drops. Very pleased.Only question is whether I should have gone with the 16000, but this one is great until more devices actually use the 6 ghz range.

Great Router, Over 5,000 sqft, great coverage
8 April 2023

This Router replaced a Netgear RAX 120 Wifi-6 router. The Netgear was good till the addition of a PS5. on wifi it could not handle the speed. I have a large home ( 5,294 sqft) and 43 devices, and Heavy streaming (8 TVs through Fire tv), two PS4s and Nintendo Switch. I also have a Netgear EX80 range extender to cover outside devices. on the RAX 120, I was getting 135 mbps through the extender on 5G. On the Asus, my extender is getting 257 mbps on the same speed test. So, the range is more stable. Also the ping is 16ms down from 24. for gaming, I didn't realize how much it was lagging with the old router. Online gaming is more stable. Also with the Asus Router App, you have so much more control over your devices. you can optimize devices per their function. The Router does a very good job of identifying what is attached. Setup was a breeze, I kept the same SSIDs and passwords, and all my devices immediately connected. As for the TV (Streaming), the pictures are more clearer after the switch. There are other newer routers WIFI-6E, but unless you have a device with 6ghz capability, (only a few phones to my knowledge) it is not going to do anything for the average consumer. WIFI-7 routers are coming in 2023, but looking at those prices (I have not seen one with a preliminary price under a $1000), again not something necessary for the average consumer. With a 1gbps download 50mbps upload plan from my internet service provider, this router delivered 936.51 and 52.45 wirelessly, with a ping of 13.51milliseconds. My provider is upgrading my area to fiber internet and should be done within two months. The GTAX11000 PRO is able to take 2.5 gbps service via a single port, and up to 3.5 gbps with port aggregation. So it is capable of handling just about all internet plans currently out there. Remember 5,000 sqft 1 acre, and my backyard entertainment/pool area is covered with no equipment outside of the house.

I stuck with what has worked for me

I purchased an older model about 7 years ago that gave me a lot of trouble free years, and figured I would reward that by purchasing this shiney thing. It took me longer to unpack than it did to setup. Packaging was robust and instructions were clear and simple to follow.Wifi coverage is solid, improved over older models. Even though the router is poorly placed in a ~2500SqFt home 5Ghz wifi still reaches the whole house. Router is at top front of house, signal reaches back yard, albeit at 40% strength.Only issue I have ran into is having an ISP router with a 5Gb port plugging into the 2.5Gb port and having a cable that couldn't handle the speed, so be cognizant of port speed between devices if you are having any port flapping issues.Overall, based on prior ... MoreI purchased an older model about 7 years ago that gave me a lot of trouble free years, and figured I would reward that by purchasing this shiney thing. It took me longer to unpack than it did to setup. For me, the stability and power of this model was worth the high pricer.

Its not a pro, its a beast.

I used to be die-hard night hawk. But over the last 2 months, went through 2 axe11000, and the ax 3600 mesh 4 times and was about to go nuts. Now with the asus beast, no more issues with wifi and my connected smart home. The router is just that its not pro but a beast. I pay for spectrum gig and im now connecting at the bighest 1189mbs, on average 1100 plus. Nighthawk when it did work my best was 940mbs. I plan on getting the rog gt6 router and use those as nodes for mesh. Will i severly overkill my network, yes, but the rog series is a beast that cant be triffled with when it comes to home networking. Overall good.
15 June 2023

Overall its a good router. QOS is a little strange. If I run a speed test on my PC, I get lower speeds even though my QOS if focused for my PC. I pay for 1GIG up/down but only get about 500-600 speed wirelessly when right next to router, I do have a lot of devices but was getting alot more prior. I use another asus router for AIMESH, I like that these routers have this feature and can create a whole home mesh system. Router looks good, sleek and UFOish. Sometimes my speed on my phone just drops like crazy to about 20-40 mbps, not sure why. For the price this is not bad especially if you have another Asus router. Would like to have consistent speeds; taking a star away because of that.

They say you get what you pay for, this device might be a little pricey for some, but it comes packed full of features. Its performance is fantastic at close range, and this improves with distance. With a family of 4, 3 of which are gamers, whilst streaming Netflix, not forgetting all other devices "IOT" - this router can handle all without congestion or lagging. It has built in internet protection if you require web browsing protection for your youngsters.

Released December 2022
15 June 2023

To the guy who said he's had this router for 2 years, he's incorrect. This is the new pro version of the router, and was only released in December of 2022. This newer model has a faster processor, a 10gb port, and other improved hardware. What I would caution is that Wifi 7 is just around the corner so if you can hold off, you might get a better price, or newer hardware. You can ignore this review if you want, but you definitely need to ignore that guys 1 star review because it's for a different product.

I've had an Asus RT-AX92U for a couple years now and it's always been fantastic in whatever apartment we lived in. A couple months ago we moved into a house, and I started thinking about getting the big brother, the GT-AX11000 to make the main router and then add this RT-AX92U to the office as an access point using AiMesh so our garage can get a signal. Well, I was surprised to find out Asus released this bad boy, and I was excited to get it. It's everything I hoped it would be and more. Now I have everything in my home connected using Apple HomeKit and it's AWESOME!
