Decent card to get you by if you need a vid card. Ok for light/low res gaming. Good for regular 2D desktop use. Very low power requirements which is good. It would have been nice if it had display port or 2 of them for dual monitors. DVI is kind of extinct. Be aware there is also DDR3 models - don't get those. So -1 egg for no display port and -1 egg for price/performance Other than that decent solid little card...........until better cards have better availability and pricing.

Running an ASUS Rampage II GENE build, Intel Core i7-950 @ 3.0 GHz liquid cooled with 16 GB RAM. Chose this card over a 750TI because of power consumption (I live in the city so our bills get outrageous). I know my board could use a nicer GPU but for the price point, this thing is absolutely stunning. Minimal power consumption and it runs so quietly and smooth that I didn't want or need to mess with the stock assembly. Every game I've thrown at it has run beautifully at 45-60 FPS with no problems whatsoever, and this card can outperform a few of my friends' 1050s with the factory OC clock speed alone (it smokes all the low-pro 1050s with ease). Very impressed with the performance and even more impressed with its ease of use. I do wish it was a little bit skinnier, though, because it blocks off my PCI-e x1 slot which I was hoping to use for an SSD or something. One other note of mention: the factory GPU OC disc you get with this card isn't that great because its GUI is not the greatest and can linger in the background during gaming sessions and cause an unintentional bottleneck. The card OCs perfectly fine during rough game sessions with other GPU OC software. There's a few to choose from so if you're a beginning builder, this is a fantastic little card to learn on (I certainly learned a lot, this was my first build).

Put this into an i3 2100 rig (uATX, PCIe 2.0, 8GB Ram) used as a DVR/media center running Windows 7 64 with Windows Media Center. Just bought a new 4K TV and needed a card to run a higher resolution. WMC is sluggish at 4K, but that’s probably because the CPU. Replaced a GeForce 710, and the difference is astounding. Netflix now runs at full speed in the browser. The pictures of the card, however, seem a bit deceptive. The fan shroud fills the slot next to the x16 slot, so beware. Also, don’t forget to take the protective cover off the PCIe pins.

Good entry level graphics card
24 April 2021

I bought a KF series intel 10th generation chip so needed a graphics card. Didn't realize how hard they are to procure as a result of the pandemic and bitcoin mining. After prolonged searching & waiting settled on this one. I'm not a gamer so wasn't looking for anything high end and in fact would prefer something burning about 30-75 watts. This one is low profile which I don't need now but maybe in future if I swap this one out in building a compact computer. It's ASUS quality and is packaged very well. Satisfied with this purchase.

Great temporary GPU
8 June 2021

This is a great GPU to use while waiting to get your hands on a real gaming GPU during the current shortage. Will do most tasks including light gaming. You can squeeze a bit more performance out of it with MSI Afterburner. If looking for a 1030 right now, make sure you get the cards with DDR5 - too many others out there with DDR4 which can't really handle games.

Jeez she's still good for her age.
25 June 2022

Surprisingly this gpu has held up well in my gaming needs. However I had to give her away to a friend of mine and he's had the same level of luck that I've had with it. we constantly play sea of thieves and Other games that can be heavily V-ram taxing. Though He still loves it enough that he's willing to wait on another graphics card. Although he was unable to play a few games at all due to the V-ram limitation.

Nice little card
23 March 2021

I would recommend for anyone struggling to find a gpu and refuse to go Intel. The gt 1030 is better than the UHD 630 integrated graphics that Intel chips come with. I don't game on my pc. My gpu workload consists of zoom calls and obs studio recordings while screen sharing. This card was perfect and has exceeded all my needs.

Review of GeForce GT 1030 2 GB Phoenix Graphics Card
28 July 2020

Good Points: I bought this as a "budget" card, to improve the playing experience in games with photo-realistic, free-roaming navigation but minimal "action". Games like Cyan World's Obduction. And for that use, it has proved excellent.Improvement Points: I put the card into a PC with an Asus motherboard, thinking I'd have no issues with compatibility. But I really struggled to get the card recognised as plugged in. That could have been a fault with the motherboard but it could be that the PCIe connector on this card is slightly off tolerance in its sizing, such that the card did not sit correctly in the socket.

Surprisingly capable budget gaming card for HD gaming and 4K video
20 September 2019

Though aimed at the 4K HTPC crowd and cheap e-sports gamers, its a surprisingly capable graphics card for anything but the most demanding new releases, if you run at a lower resolution and/or turn down the settings a bit. Had no problem playing 30fps in Subnautica, Fallout 4 and Signal From Tolva at medium to high settings at 1366 X 768, and with antialiasing on high the image quality is perfectly acceptable, especially if you are a couch-based gamer. You can probably play a lot of older titles, indie games and less demanding stuff (like Fortnite) at 1080p with a fairly stable frame rate too.
