This is probably one of the best motherboards at present for the Intel LGA 1700 platform. I bought it mainly because of the white design that matches my other components and the status OLED display, having had another Asus top of the range motherboard previously with similar capability. Its build is absolutely solid, it is a heavy motherboard and it is also a normal ATX-sized MB so you won't have any issues mounting it in most modern cases, if not all of them.Performance-wise, I can't say how it compares with other same-chipset motherboards but I think at this level any possible performance difference between different brands is unnoticeable in real-life work or gaming.Memory support-wise, it runs RAM at 8000MHz with no stability issues, any higher speed than ... MoreThis is probably one of the best motherboards at present for the Intel LGA 1700 platform. I would strongly recommend however, you get RAM from Asus QVL as otherwise chances of them not working are quite high, especially at top speeds.I had the Corsair Dominator Titanium 8000Mhz initially which was unstable as anything, however, having replaced them with G.Skill 8000Mhz RAM which is on the ASUS QVL, the system runs absolutely fine.Features-wise, I really like the OLED status display of the motherboard, this as I wrote, was one of the main reasons for buying this motherboard. It has tons of ports, and here, I was mainly interested in a motherboard having ThunderBolt 4 port(s) and an integrated Wi-Fi 7 network card, with a magnetic base antenna. There are also and enough PCI-E slots, placed at good distance from one another to accommodate modern GPUs and possibly a sound card. Likewise, there are quite a few M.2 ports to cater for all modern home computing needs. Regarding the PCI-E ports and M.2, it is a limitation of the Chipset/CPU whereby if the PCI_E 5.0 M.2 socket is used, the bandwidth of the primary PCI-E 16x port is reduced to half, however, I haven't noticed any performance impact. If there is any, it is absolutely negligeable. What I didn't quite like about the motherboard is that the M.2 Gen 5 nVme slot is cooled by a not so big radiator that also has the OLED display on top. This radiator gets really hot even with a Seagate FireCuda 540 SSD mounted underneath so I dread to even try another, latest gen SSD like Crucial T705, which gets even hotter. Certainly, you can always use a SSD that comes with its own heatsink or use a 3rd party one, but then you lose the OLED display, unless you find a way to stick it to the 3rd party heatsink somehow. That however, is not an option in my books.Another thing I didn't like was the packaging, which at its price point, doesn't make it look like a premium product, meaning that there are not so many accessories as there are with the 'Extreme' range and the ones supplied, are just thrown in the box, underneath the motherboard. Moreover, the first MB I received came with a massive damage on the box from the supplier so I returned it and got another one which was ok.All in all, this is probably one of the best value for the price motherboards in its range, the only possibly better ones I could think of are Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme X Z790 and maybe the MSI Godlike Z790 but their prices are also substantially higher.

With only 3 hrs of use, either this motherboard or ROG Strix 4080 OC caught fire. ASUS is taking their sweet time and only had me send it back after days of delay and numerous emails and phone calls. Still no commitment on replacement of their faulty equipment. Now my new computer case and other components are covered in smoke. Very poor customer service. Last ASUS products I will ever purchase.

Cornerstone of my i9-14900K build. Make sure you use the included USB Support "DVD" (stick) to install the drivers and accessories, because downloading them from Asus and then installing them in Win 11 is a pain.

Worked as expected. Reverse motherboard connectors made it easy to connect to power supply.
Please bring back the magnetic wifi bluetooth antena same with formula 6 as before, add more sata3 ports, over all better than my old formula woth the sleek design and 128gb ram support is so sweet
What is there to really say.. this motherboard speaks for itself. Performance, performance, and stability.

This is my 2nd top to bottom custom self built pc. The 1st use the asus formula 11 and when it came time to pick a motherboard for this one it was just a matter of what asus to use. My system looks very clean and the the performance is top tier. Dont have a single negative thing to say about the MB
I love this motherboard. I purchased it because of the white color way and features.
This is my second attempt at installing this z790 MB as the first stuck while attempting run at switch on. I constantly rcvd a 55 error code. Returned to Amazon and got a replacement that is up and running. AIO cooler and updates went seamlessly as did amoury crate for the drivers. It has been running for nearly a week and I am very pleased. Thanks ASUS even with the blip
