As usual, Asus has made installation as easy as pie. Enter your SSID, user and password and it just works. If you want to configure in greater depth and for more features just login and enjoy the great web interface. The last Asus Router lasted 11 years, being on all the time. If it is like its predecessor this one will too. (It does not seem to be as warm.) For speed and range this one is so much better than our old one!

All in all well worth the money and I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Just simple product registration failed miserably. All instructions on the booklet that come with the product were ALL WRONG. First impression is terrible. Product is supposed to be USER-FRIENDLY and seamlessly smooth. Unfortunately it is far from it. That is why Asus failed my first impression miserably.

Fast with Good features, but some negatives
23 August 2024

A straightforward plug & play replacement for my old TP-Link modem-router, it's fast and ful-featured. It took a while to fully configure, but on the second day, I went to tweak a setting and it told me someone was already logged in (not true). Rebooting & power-cycling the router didn't fix this, and ASUS tech support said a factory reset was needed! Luckily I'd saved the initial config so was able to restore the settings after reset, but this problem needs attention. The other issue is that many of the options are not covered by the user manual and some don't seem to be covered in the online support and FAQ docs.

Great router at a good price.
24 September 2023

Initially I had a problem with the setup, I found help on the support page of the ASUS website and the download for the ASUS utility APP. I unplugged the router and rebooted the computer. I started over, signed into the router and completed the setup. I downloaded the utility AP. for signing into the router in the future. After that it was just a matter of reconnecting all of the devices. The RT-AX57 functions very well. It takes full advantage of my service speed and is a great replacement for my previous ASUS router. Aside from my setup problem, that was probably my fault, I highly recommend this router.

RT-AX57

Bought this router to use in conjunction with an ATT 5268ac Pace Modem. Never having setup a router before, I was up and running in about 10 minutes. I really wanted a TUF Gaming AX5400 router, but this was all i could afford at the moment. Its purpose was to move the connections from the ATT modem over to the RT-AX57 & use it for online gaming, mainly CS2. I wish I had just waited longer & gotten the TUF Gaming AX5400. I went ahead and set up all the peripherals, mainly 2 outdoor cams-WiFi, 2 Roku devices-1 Wired 1 WiFi, 2 Desktop PC's-1 Wired 1 WiFi, and an LGTV-Wired. The main goal was to remove BufferBloat by setting the QOS & I was able to go from an F-rating to an A+-rating on the WAVFORM webpage with this. The main goal was to remove BufferBloat by setting the QOS & I was able to go from an F-rating to an A+-rating on the WAVFORM webpage with this. The router is working fine, it includes AiProtection from Trend Micro free lifetime Firewall protection and has many settings for you to tweak if you want to use a VPN or IPV6, Alexa if you're into that, Parental controls and AI mesh if you want to add more routers to cover more distances. The RT-AX57, it's not a bad router if you just don't want to use what your ISP gives you or you want better WiFi coverage. Did this improve my ping to the CS2 servers? No, but then again, I don't think any router will. My closest server is in Atlanta from Miami and this made absolutely zero difference. I am wired in through Ethernet & was hoping this made a difference, but it was exactly the same as if I had just used the ATT modem. Would the TUF Gaming AX5400 make a difference? Reduce ping or maybe give a more fluid experience with less latency and with more gaming options, like different hops to the server or a more robust connection? If ASUS sends me a free one, I'll let you know.

The router works but the VPN is a nightmare.
6 January 2024

The router itself works okay. My mistake was to buy the model that includes VPN, thinking that this would be a straightforward way of including this protection - when, in fact, my wife and I have so far (after hours of trying) failed to connect the VPN. The Asus support staff try to help but seem as clueless as we are, having so far proved incapable of grasping the problem - which appears to be that the system isn't compatible with Apple computers.

Top Gun for routers
8 October 2023

The best of the best - if there was a Top Gun school for WiFi routers this one’s call sign would be “Maverick.” This router is the best I’ve had and after a long line of issues with competing brands I finally decided to take Consumer Reports word and buy the router with the best reviews and comments. So far this router is flying Mach 2 with its hair on fire and shooting all of the other bogie routers out of the sky.Goose we are too close for missiles switching to guns. This router has the best of the best all built into one affordable unit.

Very good router with lots of features
28 March 2024

I have total of 3 Asus routers and none of them disappoint. Some of them run Merlin firmware but this AX57 just runs stock firmware. It is basically as almost plug and play as it could be. Setup starts with a wizard and you can later adjust other settings. The router has tons of features including parental controls, mesh capabilities, DDNS and VPN (server and client). Range is excellent. This one is installed in a warehouse that's 140 feet long. I have great signal end to end even thru a cinder block wall. For the money, I think it is a very good buy.
