They'll sell you a sub par laptop at a greatly inflated price with a smile on their face, and outright lie to make their cut.I am NEVER shopping at best buy again. Your best bet is to buy an Alienware, or Razer gaming laptop, as Asus has no idea what they are doing.

If you decide to follow suit make sure to go into the MyAsus settings and change your battery charging settings to 60% to increase battery longevity.

This poor 3070 begs for mercy as I don't think I've ever seen a computer run so poorly some of these games.and on battery, this thing is a pathetic stuttery mess. in performance mode it says the battery would only last 1 hour and 45 minutes LISTENING TO MUSIC, and when you try to play a game? 55 minutes. but the cpu refused to go past 1500mhz, and the gpu? 850mhz, This means my 20$ 10 year old core 2 duo pc was running faster than this laptop around the same power usage. turning the graphics as far down as normal yielded me 24 fps with unlimited enabled (as Nvidia settings limit the gpu to 30fps on battery but I stopped that).so with that all being said and concludesthe cpu is extremely underpowered and with that uses more power than it should resulting in poor battery lifethe cooling system is so underwhelming Asus thermal throttles it way before it comes an issue resulting in extremely lackluster performance,the laptops build quality reminds me of the 100$ Chromebook I used for middle school. and runs like one too on battery B)the gpu is so woefully underpowered on purpose a laptop with a 3060 that is decently well built will make this laptop feel like the previous generation to last generation.this laptops fans scream for no reason because the parts thermal throttle so early which kills turbo frequencies and furthermore gives slow performance and enjoy burning not just yourself but your furniture with how hot the frame getsyou'll never be able to fully utilize the panels 240hz because the cough cough "i3" I mean i7 is so underpowered.and oh yeah the power brick likes to run hot which im sure won't cause any house fires in the future to people who may live in hot climates.as much as I hate to say it as I tried so hard to love this laptop, the 3070 and i7 in its name is just a scam to grab your attention because they reel you in when you see the price tag, the ssd and ram is to butter you up because you'll see nothing else in the price range offers that much storage out of box. and somehow out of everything it has good reviews when this has to be the most frustrating device I've ever owned is just saddening to me.go buy a different companies laptop like a HP omen with a 3060 for around the same or less, it performs faster than this laptop whilst offering much higher quality of life and overall quality.. thank you for reading and saving your money.

Asus software has presets for windows, silent, performance, and turbo. Not too much difference in fps between using performance mode and turbo, but turbo kicks fans on high very soon and hard. Usually just use it in performance mode since there wasn't much need for turbo.Since you can't control the fans except for with presets, when gaming the temperature and fan speed with go up and down drastically until you've been gaming for at least an hour or longer, then it will finally even out and stay consistent. Small complaint but frustrating still.Bottom of laptop will get uber hot, to where it's painful to have it directly on your lap while gaming. Must use a cooling pad for lap use beyond browsing.No undervolting possible using normal means with ThrottleStop as it was disabled by intel update (maybe throttlestop will figure out work around).Overall viewpoint:If you are looking for a lightweight gaming laptop that can handle any game with good fps, but also be able to use it as a non-gaming laptop with good battery life then this is perfect.If you don't like loud fans or having to use external laptop cooling pads to keep CPU and the surface temp of laptops in desireable levels, look at other options first.

(Single stick DDR4 3200MHz SODIMM is the kind you'll want - the capacity is up to you - the price difference is $50 vs $80 between 16GB and 32GB respectively)Overall, this is a great laptop for the price; great specs for the price and decent upgradeability. However, I did buy it almost a year after it launched. It is a good buy now, but definitely do some research; there may be something better out there now in terms of bang for the buck. If your research has brought you here, and you are leaning towards this one, I would hope this review pushes you over that edge.
I've owned several Asus ROG laptops in the past, they were amazing. This was my first from the Asus TUF lineup, and I've got to say that for the price, I'm impressed.I've owned this for almost two years now and it's running just as strong as it was on day one.Starting with the exterior: It is quite simple, but tasteful. (See Photos for port layout)Last but not lease, Performance: This can run the majority of new games (BF 2042, Diablo IV, MW2) on medium settings at around 60 fps. I personally aim for 60fps when I play games. For me, that's the balance of FPS to quality that I like. After several hours of prolonged play this thing does get HOT and will have a great reduction in performance. It's annoying, but understandable as its only a laptop. When this happens I just take a break for 10-20 minutes to let it cool back down. On that note, the fan is very loud, but if you are like me and use a headset most of the time, it's not noticeable.All in all, love this thing. Would definitely recommend a TUF series laptop to anybody looking for a solid mid range gaming laptop.
This is my second Asus TUF gaming laptop, the first being the A15 with a Ryzen 7 and GTX 1660Ti which is a solid mid range gaming laptop. Only major downside was the poor chassis ventilation and the screen wasn’t fantastic colour wise.This Dash F15 though manages to be slightly thinner and the cooling is massively improved and the fans aren’t as loud when working a full power compared to the A15.The i7 11370H quad core is a good CPU with a decent base speed around 3.3Ghz with quite a high turbo speed of 4.8Ghz. Personally I would have preferred to have had a Ryzen 7 in this laptop with double the amount of cores but this i7 still does a decent job.Finding a laptop for this price ($1699 at time of purchase) with an RTX 3070 is a steal in my opinion. Yes I know it’s the low wattage variant and other reviews state some of the 3060 cards in other laptops fare better results under certain tests/applications but it still does an excellent job of playing games and it’s the extra VRAM that I wanted at 8GB over the cheaper 3060 version with 6GB.Playing COD on the go is fantastic on this laptop, the screen is better than the previous A15 model and the 144hz Adaptive sync panel works well in games.It’s worth mentioning that this plays MS Flight Sim 2020 very well, that’s largely due to the fact that the max resolution you can play that on is limited by the laptops 1080p screen but never the less that’s a demanding game and you can set the graphics to High/Very High without issues.The RAM memory set up in a lot of the new laptops these days is frustrating with having only one Expansion SO-DIMM. The 8GB that’s non removable and part of the motherboard is at least a good speed at 3200mhz. I added another 16GB stick to the slot for a total of 24GB which is more than enough for what I need. There is another NVMe slot to upgrade SSD storage too.The battery life is really good, way better than the A15 which only had a 48Whr battery (due to a redundant HDD bay taking up space) vs the 76Whr in this.The one thing I do miss is the full number keypad with the keyboard that featured on the previous model, there’s nothing wrong with this keyboard button and feel wise but it’s nice to have separate numbers.It’s important to note that there is NO webcam on this laptop, for me this doesn’t matter but it could for some people.The other bonus with buying an ASUS laptop is their FREE 12 month ADP Warranty program. This is more than just a standard warranty as it covers you for accidental damage caused by dropping/liquid damage etc without paying anything extra which I think is a great perk.Overall it’s a great laptop for the price, sleak design, sturdy construction, thin for a gaming laptop, fast components, great battery life and bonus warranty
Good for the gamer who also needs a work or school laptop.Pros:Fast processor and discrete GPU allow you to play most games on Medium or High settings. It does get hot so I recommend a cooling fan underneath to keep the heat down. I also use this computer to do 3D modeling using Fusion 360 and slicing model files for 3D printing. It quite literally can handle most everything I can throw at it. The SSD allows for fast boot up times and the battery lasts for several hours off charger as long as you make sure to setup the Armory Crate to switch off the discrete GPU on battery. And it's light enough to fit into my backpack to take to school or meetings.Cons:512 GB SSD gets full fast with modern game sizes. I had to purchase an external drive to keep my games and ... It can get kind of confusing at times with installations and I have to make sure to bring that external drive with me if I want to play games on the go. The track pad is not my favorite but I have yet to find one I like on any computer. The computer does not feature an SD card slot so you will need to purchase a USB SD card reader.UnknownsUSB C charging: it has a USB-C port on the side and I use it connect at USB Port Extender that connects to my second monitor as well reading SD cards. It supposedly can also charge via the USB-C port but I do not have a powerful enough charger to test it and honestly don't have much reason to.
