Great price for a pair of 6E routers. I use as AP's behind a router. The 6E works great. Connection speed showed 1.4GB connection with throughout up to 90-95MB/s sustained. With two acting as AP's had coverage all over the house at full speeds. Setup by router GUI or the ASUS app was easy. Just put in my wifi information and theses new routers picked up everything on my network with no issues. 2.4 and 5GHz channels work fine too. Covers all the devices in my home. Size isn't big either. Great 6E wifi at a decent price.

The 5 GHz. and 2.4 GHz. signals are strong. throughout my home for the moment, but I need 6 GHz. connections - as my neighborhood is heavily polluted with 2.4 and 5 GHz. WiFi signals that were previously knocking my smart TVs off the Internet at times. For the moment, this is no longer happening, but I want all my signals registering as Great in the software. Understand, all ASUS 6GHz. MESH system main routers continually try for improved wireless connections - and this does cause client signals to occasionally lose connection. So, you really need all wireless nodes reporting strong connections directly to the main router and not daisy chained to each other to the main router. A nice feature of the mobile phone software is it also allows you to easily see how good the client connections are and to keep up with how the main router is keeping or changing all the MESH node and client connection configurations. This allows you to see how node placement and whether LAN cable connection addition changes are needed for some nodes. The software also makes it easy to update the firmware of the main router and the nodes - be sure to update all for best performance. So far, I've noted some router and node improvement in each firmware update - mostly in improved node to main router wireless connection along with a slight signal improvement in broadcasting from the main router.

Go ahead and buy it if you like paying return shipping, sure. Ran through the setup and everything acted as if it were fine until it got to updating firmware. Everything went south. Phone app says "Can't Detect Devices", SSID shows up, phone shows connected but you can't get to the Internet. Meanwhile my IoT is connecting just fine via the same gateway. Tried powering off the primary and configuring the second router as the primary, couldn't even see it. I've set up dozens of routers all the way up to actual Cisco gear and this was absolutely the crappiest experience I have ever had.

I bought the ax6600 through amazon. After a few months one of the units got stuck in a boot loop. Got a RMA# from Asus and sent it in for repair. After receiving the XT8 Asus quickly responded that the unit was unrepairable and some would reach out shortly to arrange replacement. They never contacted me. Four calls to Asus and three calls to amazon and weeks latter the result is, Amazon has my money, Asus has my wifi and I don't have anything.
Super easy to setup. Live in a 2-story, rectangular house, that is greater than 3000 sq. ft. My wi-fi comes in on the second floor at one end of the house. My greatest need for wi-fi is on the first floor at the opposite end of the house, where the TV and streaming services are located. The router provides excellent signal throughout the whole house.
I have Orbi AC3000, and my internet plan is 1Ghz speed, my orbi satellite shows me speed of 500mbps and by main router shows me speed of 900 + mbps. After reading lots of reviews, purchased this ET8, 2pack, but i'm disappointed with my purchase, Satellite/Nodes are not powerful .compared to my existing orbi satellite, Asus satellite and router are 25 feet apart and i'm seeing more or less same speed as Orbi when connect wireless. Wired connection from Orbi satellite to my desktop gave me above 280mbps, but with Asus satellite i'm only getting 100 + mbps speed. In my opinion they are not worth $399 price tag. Performance is more or less same as my 2019 Netgear Orbi Ac3000.
The setup took me a bit, I had restart my modem a few times for it to pick up its settings, I am using Arris S33 with this system. I have Xfinity Gig Speed plan and with these I get an aggregated speed of 1300 mbps. The wifi speeds are extremely well too over my old orbi system, the node on this system doest randomly drop off like my orbi did, and this also works really well with my smart home devices. I use Abode for my home security and I can now finally use all the features on the native app cuz of this system, my old system kept blocking it. This has Trend Micro built in so itll block off possible attacks
I bought this router after reading that set up was an easy task. Well I have 26 devices that need connectivity. 8 of them are Smart lights that are on different floors and sides of my 4000+ sq home. The issue I had was the lights kept dropping offline forcing me to re initialize them. Which is a bit of a pain in it self. The others are Laptops, PC's, TV's, Cell phones, Tablets, A Sound Bar with an assistant and a few other assistants. I also have a WIFI Smoker outside and a Tesla in the garage. All of the later connected no problem and seem to work fine. I finally got the Lights working by binding those stationary devices to the closest router. So to calm things down I switched off the Mesh router and everything was working fine but for a few of the smart lights would drop offline on occasion. After some investigating I found the by binding those lights to one of the two routers seemed to fix the problem. After about a week of fiddling. I think I got things working. I should mention that Alexa / Google assistants that control these smart lights may have been part of the problem. Other than the setup issues with the lights. It seems to work fine.
I noticed right after the setup that my upload speeds are horrible (200-300 Mbps) on a wired connection despite being on the 1 Gigabit Fios plan. After some research online, it appears there is a known bug/issue with Asus XT8 & ET8 routers and Verizon FIOS Gigabit connection. Fantastic WiFi devices. They operate in 2.4GHz, 5.8GHz, and 6GHz ranges with multi channel config options. The 2.5Gb port is super as a backbone connection to an edge switch. I do not use these for routing functions but it does look like all the typical settings are there. Recommend this 2pk for anyone looking to setup wireless mesh coverage for a large home.
