Audio-Technica AT-LPW30TK Manual Belt Drive Turntable

(184 reviews)

The AT-LPW30 is a fully manual, belt-drive turntable designed to give you optimal high-fidelity audio reproduction from vinyl. The two-speed (33-1/3 and 45 RPM) turntable features an aesthetically pleasing anti-resonance MDF (medium density fiberboard) plinth with simulated wood veneer to limit low-frequency acoustical feedback. The turntable includes a straight aluminum tonearm with adjustable tracking force and an AT-HS4 universal ½"-mount headshell with an AT-VM95C Dual Moving Magnet phono cartridge. Audio-Technica has been a leader in phono cartridge design for more than 50 years, and that expertise shows in the versatile, high-performance AT-VM95C cartridge, which comes with a 0.6 mil conical stylus, but is also compatible with any VM95 Series replacement stylus, offering a wide choice of options for every budget and application. The AT-LPW30 is equipped with a built-in selectable phono preamp and a detachable dual RCA output cable to enable direct connection to components with or without a dedicated phono input.

Awesome turntable

AwesomeAwesome turntable, bought it as open box . Not even a scuff mark anywhere. Works perfectly sounds even better through my Yamaha surround sound system. Very highly recommend this turntable over a lot of those so called high end turntables. Don’t waste your money on a high end turntable, when you can get this for a whole lot cheaper. Or go ahead and spend thousands on one, so you can say “ look what I have”. This one will work just as well or even better. It really all depends on what kind of system you are running it through

DO NOT BUY!! AUX OUTPUT DOES NOT WORK!!

My boyfriend bought this for me for a Christmas present. We were excited to start a record collection. We bought a soundbar with AUX input since this has an AUX output. The soundbar works with other electronics, just not this one, so we know it's the turntable. Best Buy told us to go take a hike when we asked if Geek Squad could repair it. Audio Technica is routing us to EUROPE to try and get it fixed. No return allowed, no exchange either. Now we are stuck paying an external repair person with our fingers crossed that we didnt waste $300 on a LEMON.We do not recommend this!!

Excellent upgrade

I’ve been slowly adding to my vinyl collection over the past few years and I decided it was time to upgrade from my “starter” all-in-one record player. I did a lot of research and went with this turntable after seeing a lot of positive reviews for the brand. This turntable is an excellent upgrade for anyone who just wants a high-quality machine to play their records. Assembly is fairly easy, but I would recommend finding the more detailed instructions for this player online if you run into any issues. Audio quality is incredible. I can hear a huge difference in the quality of my records. This is how they were meant to be heard!

Noisy...
20 July 2022

Beautiful turntable, but like one of the other reviewers, I am also getting hum, and a bad signal to noise ratio. I have eliminated everything I could, connected to multiple sound systems (Klipsch The Fives, and Denon AVR-X6700H). Using both internal and external phono amps, and multiple cables. I reseated the cartridge numerous times. No matter what, I get an unacceptable level of noise when turning the volume to a loud (but reasonable) volume.

Not as pictured
10 December 2021

Very disappointed aesthetically, sounds great but it isn't as pictured. I bought this model to match an old stereo console I have. I have many audio technica products and they are great. The problem I have here is it appears there is a veneer on the sides but not on the top as pictured. It looks like cheap pine. If you weren't paying close attention you wouldn't know it. I hope this is in error and audio technica reaches out. It looks more like Bob ran down to home depot and had them cut a piece of plywood than a $300 high quality turntable...

Recommended for Novice Music Listeners
29 January 2022

I am beginning to rebuild my vinyl record collection after years of CD listening. I wanted a turntable that would not damage my records, and deliver an enjoyable listening experience. I purchased the Audi-Technica AT-LPW30TK Manual Belt Drie Turntable just about one month ago, and I am pleased with my purchase. The turntable came securely packaged and included easy-to-follow instructions for assembly and tone-arm balancing. The Audi-Technica spins at the right speed to produce a pleasing sound when music is amplified through my speaker (a very compact Marshall). I would recommend this turntable to novice music listeners.

The Record Player Review of the Minute
20 January 2023

This record player is pretty awesome and amazing. I love playing the music on this record player. Why, thats its entire purpose, yes? What makes this record player stand out is its cool wooden design and silly adjustable anti-weight. We can also say that all the other doodads and doohickies are also cool. Oh and theres a needle too, thats sweet. This is why this record player is cool and sweet and full of funny wonders and sounds.

Turntable review

Almost ready out of the box. All I had to do was install the drive belt, stylus, counterweight, platter and lid. Has both a phono and line output. Needed to use line output for my amplifier as it does not have a phono input. Item worked perfectly on startup. Very easy to balance stylus arm. Favorite features: ability to lock arm in position when not in use and device to hold up arm while moving it over the record to be played and then gently lowering it place

Upgrade
30 October 2022

Purchased this turn table as an upgrade to Audio-Technica LP60X. I could not be happier with the upgrade. The sound from LPW30TX is markedly better. The bass and vocals are clear and more vibrant than the LP60X. Part of the reason for purchasing the LPW30 was the ability to upgrade the head unit in the future.Setup was slightly more technical than the LP60X, as that was pretty much plug n play. Being a novice to turntables, I did not know about setting tone arm weight or anti-skate. A quick youtube search fixed that problem. As to appearance, that is completely subjective. I prefer the warmer faux wood finish to the LP60X's plastic look. I also love the fact this turntable is completely manual. More of an old school feel for me.Over all I would recommend this ... MorePurchased this turn table as an upgrade to Audio-Technica LP60X. I could not be happier with the upgrade. What can I say? I'm in love.

Okay, so I'm a tiny bit obsessed with my new turntable. We've had a small Crosley record player for years, and were looking to upgrade. We finally settled on this AT turntable paired with the Edifier - R1280T speakers. And WOW - what an upgrade this proved to be! We no sound experts - just record enthusiasts - but we've been blown away by the swoon-worthy and deeply vibrant music coming from our new setup :)Plus, this turntable looks sleek as heck, and I feel extra fancy/cool having it out on display in our small space. As for the "some assembly required" piece, I'll admit that I'm a total neophyte when it comes to musical setup (or machinery of any kind), so I was pretty nervous to tackle the set up (worried that I'd do it wrong and destroy all our records). BUT the instructions were pretty straightforward, and I just did everything baby step by baby step. Even the balancing portion proved very doable (dare I say fun?). I even pulled out a level to check it, and definitely felt a sense of accomplishment once it was all finished! One final note: the Audio-Technica customer service team was wonderful, prompt, and oh so helpful when we had an issue and were missing one of the tiny plastic bumpers right out of the box. Shout out to Lori Campbell for being awesome!!
