Amazing for the price. I've listened to high-rez streaming for 3 - 5 hours at a time with no "digital fatigue" or musical boredom. I really like that it plays MQA, as it makes Tidal completely usable on the road. You won't regret this purchase.

I love this little gizmo, but EVERY time I go to use it, I plug it in, and my iPhone 13 Max Pro tells me that this device is not compatible with my phone. The light on my DAC3 flashes really fast blue/red/white then no light at all and the message pops up on my iPhone. The ONLY way to get it to work is shut my iPhone off completely and re-boot it. This should not be so. Tech is baffled also.

I would have given this DAC a 5 star rating except for the fact that I usually have to plug/unplug the thing into my iPhone multiple times before it will realize a good connection. It will cycle through all colors of t he LED and then go blank. Upon the 3rd or 4th try, it will take and I can listen to my heart's content. It's not a lightning connection issue so not sure. Otherwise, a great product.

Small, elegant, well made, cute, alldescribe the DAC3. But its sound is what counts. Compared to a Chord Mojo andA Cayin RU6 it does the following: better detail more power more information. Preferable to the Mojo but different from the RU6. The RU6 ladder DAC is softer easier but the DAC3 is more accurate and incisive. $149 is silly cheap. Put it in your jeans coin pocket- connect it to CTM IEM’s or Emotiva GR1 headphones, no Bluetooth headphones will come close. A winner from Brett & Brady!
To start, I am just getting into higher quality audio. Using Qobuz music service, iPhone SE 2020, Amazon Basic 3.5mm cable and Philips SHP9500 headphone. The Philips headphone is 32 ohm and 101db sensitivity. The iPhone does a more than adequate job of driving this class of headphone. However, adding the DAC3 increases the depth and signature of Qobuz music at same volume settings, especially the higher res selections. Listening mostly to Jazz, classical and occasional popular music. Have about 40 hours on both the DAC3 and the Philips.DAC3 Pros: small footprint, build quality, volume control, LED light, lightning connector cable. No notable cons.Am pleased with the DAC3 and if I obtain higher end headphones anticipate additional benefits.
Perfect size and versatile design with cable choices depending on device requirements. Outstanding performance and value. Only issue is my unit came directly from Audioengine but the box was unsealed.
Does what it’s suppose to very well. Outstanding sound for a portable. They include both connectors for iPhone and iPad which is nice. No worries about having to buy something additional.
Really enjoy the ability to adjust the volume up and down as needed from the dac. The quality of the dac is excellent as it is well made. The sound is unbelievably good. The dac makes so much difference and is quite noticeable to what my smartphone puts out by itself.
The DAC3 is used primarily on my iPad and iPhone. The sound improvement is stunning on my Sony WH-1000XM5’s. Most audio is from Apple Music and I have purchased a few high res downloads. The included cables were too short for me so I replaced them with a 1.6 foot Atom-Studios flat cable with multiple connectors. I would highly recommend the DAC3.
I use headphones with my HD3 speakers and love the improvement in sound that the included digital-to-analog converter makes. When the portable DAC was announced, I bought it immediately. It fits in my pocket with an iPhone. In the portable version, the sound is better. In the DAC included with the speakers, the fine volume control is better.
