The side arms are all tubular steel including the front bent corners to ensure strength and durability. All Austral Fold Downs are supplied with pre-assembled side arms to make installation a breeze. Austral Fold Downs may be reduced in length by shortening the front bar during installation. Whether you have a large or small space available, there is a Fold Down to suit you.

We have only had the lone up for a week or so and it is great. It is actually bigger than expected and can carry a huge amount of washing. Thanks, however to our landscaper who had concreted the bottom 300mm+ into the ground, but still allowed for a 1.0m clearance above the deck. We recommend anyone buying such a large clothesline do this so that the the mounts can handle heavy towels etc at the end of the line. Perfect as the reach to the line is perfect for someone with a height of 160-180cm. A great, semi compact line for families.

Wonderful! Waited a bit of time for delivery but the product was worth the wait! I love the fact that it's an Australian company. My line has been just great. No more spinning in the wind and sheets are so much easier to place on the line. The space it saves in the yard is so convenient. We enjoyed chopping down our old big rotary! Just perfect! Thank you Lifestyle!

The austral units are good value and last well, but here’s some suggested improvements:1. Wall plugs are useless for items of this size and weight, so pls include dynabolts they only cost $1 ea2. The hinge point impedes the main arms so when the unit is folded it doesn’t sit flush against the wall3. The side arms flex too much when the string is tensioned. Would recommend a thicker profile steelHope someone in product development reads this
Best choice! I’m one to look and research and see what’s out there and I found that with Lifestyle clotheslines the variety of sizes and styles is fantastic. Was able to easily find what I needed. Staff at lifestyle were extremely helpful when I called and changed mind. I also had purchased a removal of old line and paid for removal then didn’t need it and they processed the refund quickly and pain free. Purchase was easy and the gentleman that came to install was a delight. I didn’t have to wait long to have it installed either!! Real happy with my line and glad I went with Lifestyle clotheslines. I’m currently looking at getting another one in garage for the winter months. If your looking for great service, great price and all round easy this is it!!!
Great clothes line with a great discount at EOFYS. Sturdy clothesline. Great size. Great colorbond colour range. Great communication from clothesline store and allocation of installation day. However the installer was unable to give me a time frame until the day of installation (which is messy when trying to organise kid drop offs etc) and then showed up with the wrong clothesline. Was unable to give me a time for the next day to rectify until 5-10 mins before arrival. Which was after 4pm. Waited all day for a time. I recommend the product and the company. Just not the installer.
Love my new Austral 28 Standard clothesline. Easy to assemble and fold away against the wall when not in use means no more unsightly clothesline when visitors come. The variety of line spacing means there is plenty of air circulation for drying clothing, towels and sheets. I’ve used other clothes lines in the past but definitely recommend this one if you are considering purchasing a new clothesline.
Super satisfied with the quality and how super easy it was to put together and mount to the ground on my own. Only downfall is the guilty feeling I get when I look at it while putting my washing load into the dryer.I’m sorry Mr clothesline. YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH. YOU ARE BIG ENOUGH. YOU ARE ATHEISTICALLY PLEASING TO LOOK AT. ITS NOT YOU ITS ME.I’m too lazy to use you!!b
Given the limited external space directly outside our laundry, we decided to mount the clothesline on our high wooden boundary fence. Whilst this gave us a suitable height to fix the clothesline, it did mean that we had a requirement for a 2.4m length clothesline to fit the main fence post positions. After various searches online and at the "big green shed" we found our solution at Lifestyle. Surprisingly 2.4m is not that common in a standard configuration. To ensure our selected Dune colour was in stock, I called the help line and received pleasant and helpful advice. I was advised to allow 1 -3 weeks delivery. Hey presto, the order was delivered in three days (we live on the Sunshine Coast). We installed the clothesline ourselves and only required us to purchase suitable wood screws rather than the supplied masonry screws. PS. The 2.4m length has that added benefit of extra hanging space which is a boon and we certainly recommend the sizing.
I self-installed the clothesline including the Ground Mount Kit. I'm pleased with the finished result. The supplied instructions were a bit short on detail, the emphasis appears to be on fitting the instructions on one double-sided A4 sheet, one sheet for the line and one for the ground kit. I reduced the width of the line from 2.4 to 2 metres following the instructions. It ended up OK but the two spacer bars had to be reduced in length by 225mm each, not 200mm each as per the instructions. This was because both spacer bars were supplied 25mm too long. They would have needed cutting even for the full width line. The frame ended up nice and square, and I only cut after careful checking the frame laid out on a garage floor. The instructions for fitting cord to the line seemed to suggest starting at one end, but I found an excellent video made by Austral showing installing the cord from the centre which avoids dragging the full cord from start to finish - much easier.John
