Item was delivered in reasonable time. The assembly instructions were precise and easy to follow. I assembled the hoist with very little difficulty with some assistance from my partner. After allowing two days for the concrete base to harden, she had the hoist in full operation, I mean "full".Very happy with purchase, AND Australian made.

I love my new clothes line. The service from Lifestyle was fantastic and my new line arrived quickly and easily. It was quite easy to assemble too. Winding it up is so easy and the clothes dry so much quicker. The Hills Hoist is not only an Australian icon, but a must in every backyard in this country. Thanks for the pegs too :)
I'm loving my new clothes line but I think the installation video needs updating. We followed it to the letter and found that digging 800cm hole put the handle at my knees so raised the level and did a hasty trip to the hardware for more quickset.
I picked this hoist to replace a vintage version of the same brand and dimensions. By vintage, I'm talking close to 70 years old. Do they make them like they used to? I'd say they make them more efficient now considering how heavy the old one was to hoist up and down. Whether it lasts 70 years is another question but considering it comes with a 10 year warranty and having examined it closely, I think it's a safe bet we'll get at least 30 years out of it with good care. It certainly appears that solid to me.The size is fantastic, needless to say, chosen largely for the wider dimensions to accommodate blankets and quilts. Even if you're only washing for one or two people, don't be reluctant to consider this one as its size alone may prove handy for such large items.
After 20+ years of the old clothes line I chose an Austral Deluxe 4 Rotary. It was Australian made and had seen one where I work. I installed it myself and found the written instruction great plus the video made the whole process easy and the end result was a great new clothes line which works really well. I look forward to the next 20 years of a great solar dryer.
The first Austral clothes line we installed was not great ..It was fantastic! So, even before we shifted house I rang and placed an order for the same clothes line to be delivered to my new home. Hubby installed it (he is becoming quite experianced by this stage) easily and it not only looks fabulous it makes wash day a pleasure. It really is strange to think that I actually enjoy hanging out the washing. Because it has many wires it makes hanging the washing easy and drying the washing quick. Once dry clothes are easier to fold and pop straight away. Not much ironing to do!! That also makes me happy :)
It's a clothes line so does the job. Newly installed so unsure how long it will last without rushing or wires breaking but it seems fairly good quality and will probably last as long as we live here.My husband was able to quickly put it together. However, the wire is bundled with cable ties. It should be on a spole as it took longer to untangle and straighten the wire than doing everything else. This is the only reason why I didn't give 5 stars.Note that the poles and wire are coated with a fine grease. This is probably to prevent rusting in the box. Make sure you wash the poles and wire with hot soapy water (I did it 3 times) before using, especially white items, or they will be covered in grease.
It's only early days, but so far I'm very happy with this clothesline. It was easy enough to construct, seems sturdy. I can see it lasting a long time.
