Aveda Men Pure Formance Grooming Clay, 75 ml

Tried this grooming clay as soon as I received it. On first impression when I open the lid, the product smells really nice. The hair clay is matte but not dry, it also holds well and styles my hair to the textures I want. Hair stays prep up and strength is good. Most importantly washes off easily. Came with a pack of samples ranging from hair masque and shampoos. I do like the product, one minor feedback is the scent can be toned down a bit more. I can smell my hair after application but fortunately it is a nice neutral scent not floral. Will purchase again!

15 years and going strong!

Must husband has used this exclusively for at least 15 years. I hate the price point but he's loyal so I always take advantage during 25% off specials and cash in ridiculous amount of reward points for myself on random volume products since he goes through 1 jar a month. Reminder: you must warm this or rub between your fingers or you get white spots or small flakes in your hair.

A Staple in Styling

I have been using this product for nigh on a decade now, and I will most likely continue using it for a few more. Having experimented with various products from different brands over the years this grooming clay eventually became the primary product that I use for my styling needs. It offers great hold without making your hard, sticky, greasy, or anything of the sorts, and best of all it has virtually no scent. I apply this grooming clay along with an oil from one of my other favourite brands to my hair to give my hair great definition and a pleasant aroma.This product works surprisingly with my thick, coarse, and curly hair.

I like it

I've been familiar with Aveda products, but didn't know about grooming clay. I've used mousse, but this has a more natural look and feel.My hair is very thinning - male pattern baldness, but still enough that I style it. You only need a small amount, especially in my case, and it definitely adds volume. Difficult to work with if your hair is dry, but damp definitely easier. I like the smell. It's a minty (I think the tea tree) and a little floral, but not perfume like. Almost a bit like sandalwood. Doesn't look or feel like you have product in your hair, looks natural, not stiff or sticky, very flexible.It's a bit expensive though, so something to consider.I would recommend it to guys looking for a nice hold that adds volume and has a nice scent.

Not just for men! Amazing texture, volume & hold

I have been using Control paste for years for my hair. My problem is even though I have a lot of hair, it's fine. I am always struggling to get the most from my shorter style. I decided I wanted more volume and thought why not look at mens products?? I was amazed by the volume and how amazing my hairstyle looked, even though it was a bit overgrown! No helmet hair, just great volume & style! Not sticky or smelly. I love Aveda and this is my new go to product!

Overall good texture, styling and smell

I keep my hair on the shorter side. Just long enough on top to where it'll fall and mostly stay put if I don't use product. When I want to style, I like to use a little bit of medium hold products that won't make my hair feel too stiff or greasy, with a matte finish.This grooming clay checks most of the boxes of what I'm looking for. It feels tacky in the hand, but not too heavy or greasy when it's in my hair. It has a very nice, pleasant smell. Not overly perfumed, just enough. It's also flexible enough that I can fuss with my hair quickly throughout the day if I want to freshen up the look.I'm a big fan of this product overall. SMELLS LIKE QUIET LUXURY

Maybe you're an heir to an international media conglomerate. Or an Italian racing car dynasty. Or maybe founded a tech unicorn in silicone valley. This grooming clay is how I expect your entire life to smell. Subtle, distinct and expensive. The best clay

This is a brilliant clay styling product. Not greasy or heavy, a little goes a long way. Holds a style with an undone texture, matte finish but not dulling. Holds many different short styles in place. I worked in an Aveda Salon for over a decade and in the last 4 years tried many products and this formula is just not like any others. Also the smell is incredible.

The best product, but...

I've been using this favourite of mine for years and years. Unfortunately, it seems that the formula is a bit inconsistent sometimes. Sometimes the clay seems harder and sometimes softer. I prefer the harder formulation. I'm not sure if this inconsistency is true in every batch but I've used this product so much and there's definitely a change in texture between products I buy which affects the performance of the product in my opinion. I wish this didn't happen.
