This product smells nice, but otherwise it's hard to find anything redeeming. It isn't cheap and it barely lathers. This means I have to use 5 times as much of an already expensive product. I end up with greasy patches in my hair because the shampoo hasn't spread across my whole scalp. To make matters worse I find my hair gets greasy within 24hrs of washing with the product - almost three times as quickly as my cheap Boots shampoo.I have always respected the Aveda brand, and the conditioners are great but they really need to reconsider this product

I use to buy this when the children were at primary school; I would add Tea Tree Oil, quick shake and it was ready for use. No issues with scalp problems or head lice for that matter either. However, stopped using when my daughters wanted to try more salon types. Flaky scalps, sore scalps etc has been the result. So back to the tried and tested, slowly the scalps are showing a definite improvement, it smells lovely, you don't need to use a lot and it just feels better on the scalp too. Yes, it may be more expensive that the typical shampoos you can buy but when you factor in scalp treatments etc, this is definetly worth it. Obviously it might not work for everyone but it definetly works for my family.

I love this shampoo. It's really gentle using natural products. It also smells wonderful. I've been using for a long time. I've tried other shampoo but you can't beat this. I give it 5 stars and won't use anything else.

Having never used the old formula, I am very happy with this shampoo. My hair is very fine and chemically treated. This makes it nice and light and clean feeling. I really like it.
I have been using Shampure for many years now and would recommend it without any reservation. I used to have a very sensitive, flaky scalp which seemed to get worse with 'specialist' medicated shampoos and I was desperately looking for something which would take care of my scalp but ensure that my hair looked its best. Shampure worked wonders! My itchy scalp was left clean and flake-free and my hair was shiny, smooth and soft again. I have worked out that other shampoos were irritating my skin because of the petro-chemical ingredients, sulphates, which were used as foaming agents whereas Shampure uses natural ingredients. A few months ago I tried another shampoo from a very well-known (and expensive!) brand and within a few washes, my scalp was itchy and flaky again. I changed back to Shampure and, lo and behold, my hair and my scalp were great again. I would heartily recommend Shampure as it is a fantastic product to use on a daily basis (I have short, fine, coloured hair which is naturally wavy) as I wash it every morning. My expensive permanent salon colour last ages too because Shampure helps to maintain its brightness! I always buy the litre salon-size litre bottle with the pump and it lasts for well over 8 months so it is excellent value for money. I only need a half pump of Shampure to get a good, dense foamy headful of bubbles. This, is, without doubt, the best shampoo I have ever used for my hair and I will never use anything else again.
I have used and lover this product for years! Since it is more expensive than an everyday shampoo, I would use this for 'special occasions', or, perhaps a day when I was feeling a bit down and needed a pick me up. I'm not very good at styling my hair, but I used to swear to my hairdresser that this shampoo made my hair so easy to manage and style. Well, not any more. As others have said, still love the fragrance, but, it doesn't lather anywhere near the same and doesn't leave my hair feeling the same silky smooth as it used to. They shop I bought it from said, oh you'll love the new formula! Hhm. Won't be buying this again until you put it back to the original.
I was feeling very low & sorry for myself a year after urgent hysterectomy. My spirits were low & hair & skin began to mirror this - dull, dry and lacklustre. After reading the lovely reviews I treated myself to a nice haircut & a sample bottle of this shampoo and conditioner - as a change from 'it'll do' other brands. After 1 use, my spirits rose with the wonderful smell and nurturing quality of the 2 products. My hair is now looking prettier and nurtured. The positive effects on my mood and well being is incredible. Thank you so much JL for stocking this at a time when I really needed some TLC for myself. Xxx
I have used this product for many years now, being an Aveda products fan. I always purchase the large One Litre size and decant into a smaller sized bottle. (for holidays/ longer weekend breaks, home or abroad). The pump doesn't come with the bottle so would need to be purchased if using direct.Having fine hair I find it really works well and is not heavy, although there may well be even lighter products out there. When hair is dried it gives a lovely shine and manageability to it.. I tend to purchase goods that have natural ingredients rather than chemical. Which is probably why I have stayed with Aveda. Highly recommend.
Like many other reviewers I have been a happy user and great fan of Aveda's shampure for many, many years, probably 20+. It used to be a fantastic product which smelled divine and was quite simply the best shampoo I've ever used. Then, out of the blue, the formula changed quite dramatically. The lovely smell has been replaced by some chemical odour that is nowhere near as nice..I noticed Aveda's customer service team does sometimes respond to questions but they are avoiding this one which has been posed by many in the UK and elsewhere (I noticed) like the plague: Can you please bring back the old formula? There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Why on earth was it changed?!? Is it a cost consideration? Surely, no one on the Aveda team thought they were ... MoreLike many other reviewers I have been a happy user and great fan of Aveda's shampure for many, many years, probably 20+. Please advise.
Aveda Shampure is a great shampoo that all the family can use. The large one litre bottles are a worthy investment and last for ages, even being used by three people every day. Shampure is an effective shampoo for all hair types.
