Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturising Lotion Fragrance Free 1 Litre

I've been using this lotion for all parts of my body for several years. It's gentle, non-irritating and sufficiently moisturizing for basic and everyday use. There are a few cons that are unique to this product and brand. Aveeno uses oat kernel flour in most of its body products. This causes skin moisturizing products to be prone to clumping if you rub a little at the applied skin. This can make using the skin products as a moisturizing layer underneath sunscreen or cosmetics more difficult, and applying the product to wet skin just leads to the product going to waste because it will never sit correctly after clumping into messy bits all over the applied area. It is fragrance free, but has a very light lingering scent. It's a bit nutty, and I assume its from the Shea butter. A little goes a pretty long way. It also leaves my skin feeling nourished and moisturised for a LONG time! I have others that absorb so quickly and have disappointing results, leaving me wanting to apply more lotion within minutes. I have always liked Aveeno products, especially in winter when my skin is drier or when it's having a sensitive moment. This triple oat formula is amazing, so hydrating but never greasy. My skin loves it, calms itchiness down instantly and you can get dressed immediately without your clothes sticking to it. My only gripe is there is no fragranced option. I know everyone goes on about wanting fragrance free but for me that is so boring. The only fragranced body lotion in the Aveeno range is the stress free version and essential oil smells aren't the best even though the stress free one isn't the worst of them. I stopped using Aveeno because there is no fragranced option and no matter how good it is I will always go for pretty smelling lotions over this. Sorry Aveeno.

I have to admit, i thought i would read, ugh, my body smells like a foot for five minutes (okay, maybe not a foot) but definitely that smell on the first day walking back into grade school (u know, that smell) after being off for the summer but to my surprise, no complaints. I thought surely someone would have noticed the medicinal smell that makes your nose crinkle for a sec. I mean, my cat certainly notices the smell, with her nose in the air, she gives me the once over b4 jumping off the bed while thinking, "And you wonder why you can't get a date" but what does she know, stupid cat. The upside to all of this is the unscented scent disipates quickly and the creamy lotion leaves my hands and body soft without any residue or oily feeling like some brands can cause. I have tried some "chemical" free unscented brands before, whatever that means and found them to be extremely drying or their "lightly" scented formula caused me to smell like the lady at the Macy's perfume counter. Sooo, who knows, maybe my skin doesn't mind Petrolatum or Benzyl Alchohol. Is that really that bad anyway. I was just surprised to find no one was complaining about the smell of the unscented scent so i thought i would give my unwanted two cents. If you don't mind the unscented scent or have never noticed the unscented scent, Aveeno does get the job done and for the size, you can't beat the price, if price is something you look at. I have never been able to justify paying $25 for 2 ounces of the supposed "healthy" cream and for that price, it better leave my skin looking like Mariah Carey and we all know there isn't a product on the market that could produce those results but hope springs eternal. After reading how awful another unscented brand smells, i guess my cat and i can deal with my smelling like a foot for a few minutes, okay not a foot, but u know, medicineeee since the end result is soft, lovely looking skin like Mariah Carey or just me.
