Aveeno Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion

Skin Relief is the heavier end of the Aveeno range, and it exists for skin that the standard daily lotion does not quite reach. Very dry, tight, itchy skin that flakes and never seems to settle regardless of how much moisturiser goes on it. The formula is built on Aveeno's triple oat complex, which uses three forms of the same ingredient for three different jobs. Oat flour, finely milled colloidal oatmeal, holds water at the surface and acts as a prebiotic supporting the skin's own microbiome. Oat oil supplies lipids, the fats a compromised barrier is short of. Oat extract is rich in avenanthramides, the compounds behind oat's long reputation for calming. Shea butter sits alongside them, and it is what makes this noticeably richer than the everyday lotion. Petrolatum and dimethicone seal, glycerin draws moisture in, and vitamin E provides antioxidant support. Despite the density it absorbs quickly and finishes non-greasy, which is what makes it usable in the morning rather than only at night. Unscented, dye-free, hypoallergenic and formulated to minimise the risk of allergies. The current formula contains no animal-derived ingredients. At 50ml this is the travel size, which is useful given dry skin tends to worsen on flights and in air conditioning.
