Avene Cleanance Cleansing Gel 400ml

I've used The Avene Cleanance Cleansing gel for a few weeks now. I enjoyed it, but it's not my favorite. The first mistake I made was using it 3 nights in a row, it left me dryer than I'd like. (It wasn't clear to me how often it was meant to be used, so it could be user error. I also could just be running drier than usual & didn't realize before hand.) This cleanser has a light scent, nothing offensive. The texture/thickness of the gel is really enjoyable, very luxurious feeling. I noticed it doesn't foam much, which is fine with me, often a sign of a sensitive formula. I do think this a good cleanser, the trick is to see how/when it will best serve your needs to use it. For myself, probably mornings & before applying makeup would be most beneficial. Pros: This facial cleanser cleans really well - it did a good job of getting off makeup left over from the night before! The texture of the gel is light and smooth, and the fragrance isn't overpowering. Cons: Doesn't lather too much, burns my eyes, and only provided oil control for a few hours. I received a small sample size bottle and it was really hard to tap the product out into my hands - opt for a bigger size that can be squeezed or comes with a pump for easier dispensing. I've currently replaced my normal cleanser with this one for the past week, and I've really enjoyed it. I've found that Avène Cleanance Cleansing Gel has a wonderful consistency, it is in fact a gel as it says, but this has been enjoyable for me due to switching from a more liquid based cleanser. It leaves your skin with a bit of a matte finish to it, which for me creates a perfect base for moisturizer and night time skincare routines, or is a fantastic base to apply makeup. It's also good for sensitive skin as sometimes cleansers are irritating to me or cause redness after use. I've noticed it's been beneficial in helping to clear a few acne spots I currently have just within a week of use, and I notice my face is less oily the morning after using it. All in all it's a great addition to a skincare routine for anyone whose skin might fit these parameters.
