After reading the reviews, I thought I would try this make-up remover. Although gentle, it did not completely remove my eyeliner and/or mascara (Trish McEvoy brand). I even tried holding the cottonball with product on my eye for a minute or so to see if it would work better, and I still had traces of the makeup under my bottom eyelashes. I'm going to switch back to clinque's eye makeup remover or Lancome. I hope i can return this although disappointed i have to pay to ship it back.

I love the line and use other products. This eye make up remover is terrible, didn't remove mascara and I don't even use heavy mascara! If this had come through another distribution channel (like Amazon) I might have questioned if it was watered down. Useless, have to toss.

I've been loyal user of another brand for probably 20 years (comes in a blue bottle) but this was on sale so I decided to try it. I was pleasantly surprised. It easily removed my water resistant mascara. I don't wear waterproof so I don't know if it would remove it. It has a light pleasant smell and really isn't greasy but does the job.

This is very efficient at removing mascara and eyeshadow quickly, gently and without stinging. Left no oily residue or film across the eye. No stinging,burning. Just great. Haven’t tried it on waterproof mascara but being bi phase I would imagine there would not be a problem. It’s the only thing I can use. Spent a lot of money on expensive brands in the past and this is by far the best. I applied it to damp cotton wool and then gave my eyes a bit of a rinse
Avene is known for being extra gentle for sensitive skin and eyes. But I found this eye makeup remover stings my eyes and not very effective. I shake the bottle and put generous amount on cotton pad and put light pressure against my eye make up(mainly mascara). But the mascara does not come off much, and I end up have to rub my eyes quite hard! And when the product gets in my eyes it stings!
I'm a loyal customer of Avène brand. Use it more than 5 years and never complain. It is my first purchase of their MU remover and I like it. It removes even waterproof maskara and heavy foundation.
My Avene Intense Eye Make-Up Remover is the best I've ever used. I always buy it and nothing else compares to it for removing eyeliner and mascara. Get some and you won't be disappointed. I have sensitive eyes and it's non-irritating. Great product.
I bought this product specifically because I have sensitive eyes. This product stings like crazy if it goes anywhere near your actual eye. I can't believe how harsh it is on the eye especially given that it's a "sensitive" product. I would never buy this again. In terms of the effectives in removing eye make up, it does a decent enough job if you can get past the sting and stream of tears lol...
I've used Lacome's eye make-up remover, and though I found it effective, it left my eyes too oily. The intense eye make up remover takes off all my make up including mascara completely without an oily residue seeping into my eyes. Mixing with the Avene water, the remover soothes the eye area while cleansing it.
i wear waterproof mascara and liquid eye liner - with most make-up removers you have to rub or it doesnt get all the mascara off and you still wake up with left overs on your pillow or under your eye. NOT WITH THIS! Just press and hold on your eye lids and your eye make up is off! My lashes greatly appreciate it :)
