Avène Thermal Spring Water originates from rain and travels through the Cévennes Mountain aquifer for 50 years before being bottled in the village of Avène. Its soothing and anti-irritating properties have been validated through therapies at the Avène Hydrotherapy Centre, effectively helping with atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and burns. Numerous studies have confirmed its benefits, including relief from redness, itching, and irritation, and revitalising skin. It is suitable for babies, children, and adults with sensitive skin or eczema. This water stands out due to its unique mineral composition, which is low in minerals and has a neutral pH, containing bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium, and beneficial trace elements. The Pierre Fabre Laboratories have discovered that it also possesses a unique microflora, Aqua Dolomiae, which enhances its soothing properties. Dr. Webster recommends Avène Thermal Spring Water for its consistent mineral composition that softens skin.

Ok I admit to once calling this 'glorified water in a can', I know silly of me...never judge a product until you've tried it for yourself! Well what a surprise this was. I guess it's the mineral content in it, it calms my skin down whenever Im on a plane, or somewhere dry and my skin feels parched. Where I live (humid land) this isn't something I would ordinarily use, but in drier climates - absolutely yes! I can spray this on bare skin and I can also spray it over a full face of make up without ruining anything. The mist is very fine and doesn't disturb my foundation nor eye makeup. I did attempt to fill a empty spray bottle with tap water to see if it would have the same effect (it didn't!) which goes to show there's definitely something in here that's beneficial ... MoreOk I admit to once calling this 'glorified water in a can', I know silly of me...never judge a product until you've tried it for yourself! The only reason I've knocked a star off is because the nozzle became clogged up after a few months and instead of a fine mist I now get a miniature jet stream that ruins my makeup and whatever else is in its path (not impressed!). Ended up binning the 2/3rds full bottle and got myself a new one. Hoping there are no issues with the nozzle this time around. -- My Top 10 Beauty Must-Haves

I was skeptical at first, but after buying a bottle at Ulta while they had a nice coupon going on I’m convinced that this will be an essential step to my skincare routine! Your skin absorbs other products better when it’s still wet. I love how fine the mist is from this bottle, and it’s literally just nice water. After patting it in it dries within a few minutes minute and leaves my face feeling baby soft and smooth. I also spray before putting on skin soothing toner, then my face lotion, layering while my face is still wet. There’s also no smell to it, so it really is perfect for people with sensitive skin.

This water spray really surprised me! It was super hydrating and calming. I love to use this morning and night after cleansing for a smooth hydrated base before I apply my other skincare products. My sensitive skin had a reaction to another product, and after spraying this I definitely saw a visible improvement in the irritation and the redness completely went away. The spray is so refreshing, I love having this bottle on my bedside table to really wake me up in the morning or spray during the night to cool down. I can already tell this is going to be a staple for me in summer. Although the bottle is quite large, it’s easy to hold and use and you get a lot of product! The mist feels amazing and distributes the product perfectly across the face. This is definitely a ... MoreThis water spray really surprised me! It was super hydrating and calming. Meh, what can I say-- personally I think it's a bit of a gimmick to sell water in a spray can. Not only is it wasteful for our environment, but it's not really a necessary step in your routine. I get that water in spray format might come in handy with makeup, and that's about the only time I've found this to be truly helpful. It is nice to spray a bit on your blending sponges or on your brushes to help the product 'stick' provide a more 'translucent', even finish. Other than that, this product doesn't contain any ingredients that are going to 'tone' your skin or provide really any beneficial skincare progress. Instead of adding an unnecessary product to your routine, just dip your brushes/sponges in tap (or filtered) water for the same effect. I personally prefer to stick to a true 'toner' that is pH balancing and meant for treatment vs. niche. I don't hate this product by any means, it's just not necessary. Recommend? Nah. Save the money ( environment)

I bought this because I needed something water based to spray my face with when I am doing microcurrent at home. The conductive serums and gels required for microcurrent devices to work usually dry very fast and you need to keep re applying them (they are very expensive) - instead I learned that you can spray this water to soften and prolong the serum/gel as it dries. It works amazingly. On its own it is also amazing and hydrating. You can use it after the shower or any time during the day to refresh your makeup. It is so fine it won’t ruin or wet your makeup. Just go from very far! Little word of caution though… kids love this thing… I have to hide my bottle. They think it is a toy! 😂 you need to try this!

Fell in love with this water spray. Comes out as a fine mist which covers your face rather than big splats of water. Really hydrating, I use this AM and PM throughout my routine. Great if my skin is having a sensitive flare up. Doesn’t irritate it at all. The bottles last a long time and I love this comes in a large size. Great for the increasingly hot UK summers too, cools you down and hydrates dry skin. Have purchased multiple bottles and will continue to do so.

Most repurchased beauty item

Only the other day I realised that this is one of my most repurchased items in my beauty routine, it’s so multifunctional and soothing. I normally use it after I’ve cleanser to soothe my dry skin and it ensures my skin is damp to ensure optimal absorption of my skin I care products. I also use it for dampening cotton buds to sharpen my eyeliner, or small make up corrections. I even spray it straight in my eyes when they’re feeling dry from staring at computer screens. I love that it comes in differing sizes and I honestly can’t go without this product. It has so many uses and feels so nice on the skin.

Soothing and hydrating moisturizer

At 42, I began to deal with cystic/nodular acne. So, my dermatologist prescribed me acne treatments (Doxycycline, Clindamycin topical gel, retinol) to treat my acne. The treatments caused my skin to react by becoming dry, flaky and itchy. Redness on my cheeks also appeared. This moisturizer targeted these reactions amazingly well. It soothes my skin - reduces redness and itchy skin and hydrates my skin - removes my dry and flaky skin! After applying this moisturizer, I can easily apply my makeup without any of these skin irritations. All of my skin's reactions from the treatments are gone - like magic! I use in combination with the Cleanance Hydra soothing face wash and thermal spring water toner spray. The scent of the products are amazing too!
