Admittedly, I was anxious with the first attempt (and of the breastmilk that may be wasted if it wasn't successful) and imagine my surprise when things went off without a hitch. At introduction, my son was four months old and beginning to discover the world - even while breastfeeding, he would look around without unlatching. The nipple on the Philips Advent Natural bottle is flexible and allowed him to stretch the nipple and pull it just as he would if he was nursing. By far, this was both mine and his favorite feature. It did not have the thick, rubber feel that other bottles usually have, but instead was thin, soft and pliable. Not to mention how seamlessly the nipple flowed into the rest of the bottle, for a baby that generally has a deep latch they would be able to go beyond the nipple without any noticeable difference.Cleaning has been a total breeze for a bottle designed to reduce colic. We had previous experience with another bottle for our oldest son that has several parts to prevent colic - and cleaning them daily was a time consuming pain. I loved the ability to wash just three pieces, plus it took up a lot less space on the drying rack. Not to mention not having to need special cleaning brush, any bottle brush works. As for the effectiveness of the anti-colic vent with less pieces? My son has had stomach issues from birth and has been labeled a 'happy spitter,' so we were expecting limited effectiveness. However, we were happily surprised when we seen no increase when using these bottles and instead seemed to only have the same effects as when he breastfed.Another ease of use has been how easy they are for baby to hold. My five month old is able to take them when held out to him, raise to his mouth and elevate all on his own. They are prefect for any independent bottle header, and even comfortable for mom and dad (or anyone else feeding baby) to hold. Accessibility wise, they are also easy to toss into a cooler bag without having to worry about leaks - after use for close to a month, we have yet to have a leak occur, which has been a time saver.Overall, this has been the perfect bottle for us, so much so that we have purchased more after initially testing them out (though, I still prefer to use these, because who couldn't resist these adorable elephants?). The only con I could think of would be wanting to buy more - and wishing they made more designs, because I need more of this cuteness in my life.

Because he doesn’t often get a bottle, it is important that the bottle we use is easy for him take. We have typically used a different popular bottle, but thanks to the wee Spring Parent Panel we were able to try the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle. With our old bottle, it would typically take him a couple minutes to get used to the bottle and really start feeding and then there were always several pauses and ā€œunlatchingsā€ during those feedings. With the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle he immediately latched on and fed continuously until the bottle was empty! It appeared as though the wide (1-1/2ā€ diameter) nipple base of the Philips bottle was soft against his lips and looked more like he was nursing from my breast so I assume it felt more like that as well. With other bottles the nipples are typically only 1ā€ diameter and are surrounded by a hard plastic cap that rubs against baby’s lips or nose, nothing like a real breast! The Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle were easy to assemble and use with just four total pieces (protective cap, nipple, collar that surrounds nipple and the actual bottle). There’s no way you could forget a part when you are in a rush! (Yes, it’s possible with others…I forgot to pack the ā€œcoreā€ of our old bottle once and it did not work very well without it!) The only thing I found I had to pay attention to was how the nipple was inserted into the collar that screws onto the bottle. There is a small ā€œventā€ at the edge of the nipple and an indentation on the rim of the collar. If these two are aligned when inserted, you can make sure that the ā€œventā€ is always at the top of the bottle when baby is feeding and there are zero leaks. It works if the ā€œventā€ and indentation are not aligned, but it sometimes leaks a bit if the ā€œventā€ is not at the top of the bottle during a feeding. With just four total parts and wide diameter (almost 3ā€) of the bottle it can be cleaned with a sponge or bottle brush, but no little pipe cleaners or other special pieces are needed. This makes it especially useful if you find yourself needing to clean the bottle somewhere other than your home.My baby does not have colic, so I’m not sure if the anti-colic vent worked specific to that, but it definitely didn’t cause any issues. The anti-colic vent is discreetly designed into the nipple, so there are no additional odd parts to assemble and wash. The ergonomic design of the bottle made it easy to hold for both me and my four month old. The bottle is nearly 3ā€ in diameter and has indentations in the sides for easy gripping. The shape also allowed my baby to hold it and virtually feed himself for brief moments! There were only two things that bothered me about this bottle, and both are minor issues. First, the short fat shape of the bottle wouldn’t fit in the interior bottle pocket of my diaper bag. It will fit in the exterior bottle pocket, so it was a minor compromise. Secondly, the protective cap on the bottle was difficult to remove. It definitely requires two hands to remove (with our old bottle I could hold it with one hand and push the cap off with my thumb while my other arm and hand held my baby). The Philips cap is very wide and almost a perfect dome shape with one small indentation. It definitely took some getting used to and I still find it difficult to remove if my hands are at all damp (like they typically are after washing my hands). I couldn’t find a real solution to this, but in the future maybe they can incorporate a small tab on the cap edge so it is easier to pop off.Overall the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle is great! Thanks to the wee Spring Parent Panel for giving me the opportunity to try it.

The wider shape of the top allowed her to easily latch and the soft breast-like feel of the nipple made her latch seem more comfortable and natural. Our baby seemed to fuss far less when using these bottles and, thus, we assume that the anti-colic vent was very helpful to her. One concern we had as parents was that, despite using the nipple flow specific to her age, she seemed to be able to drink from the bottles very quickly. Occasionally this seemed to trigger her acid reflux and other times it didn't. However, I believe our baby liked the ease and steadiness of the flow she was able to receive from these bottles because she sometimes appears frustrated if the flow seems too slow.As far as the functionality of the bottles, we loved the shape, as they fit more easily in our hands, which made them easier and more comfortable to hold. My husband prefers the 9 oz bottles because they fit his bigger hands better and he occasionally likes to prop the bottles while feeding. I tended to prefer the smaller 4 oz bottles because they fit my hands better and we noticed that our baby seemed to feed easier off the bottles where the milk did not have to travel as far to get to the nipple. However, the larger sized bottles are convenient for our baby specifically now, as she typically takes in more than 4 oz at a time when bottle feeding. These bottles are very easy to assemble--the wider tops seem easier to fit into place on the bottle. The wider-shaped bottles do not fit as easily in the pockets in our diaper bag and take up more space in our cupboards than other bottles but the pros we have noticed in using them have led us to make the space for them, as they result in far less stress during feeding.

I think the wide base and thin nipple was too much for her considering her small mouth and poor latch, and she just couldn't get a good latch onto this bottle's nipple. She would gulp down about the first half of the bottle, but would make a huge mess with a bunch of milk dribbling down her chin, and then would be screaming and need to be burped (something that doesn't happen on her normal bottles). Clearly the anti-colic vent didn't work for her. She would then fight going back on the bottle, and would only finish drinking after I switched to her old bottles. I tried for several days, and it was too frustrating. She clearly did not like the bottle.I so wish she had liked these bottles. I liked them from the moment I opened the box to find three big and open mouth bottles with a beautiful "Love" pattern in pink along the bottle-adorable for my little girl. The parts were easy to clean and fit in my bottle sanitizer. I loved that it only had three parts and the whole thing was comfortable to hold because of the ergonomic shape. I also appreciated the wide-mouth so that I could pour the formula in one-handed without creating a huge mess!I did find it slight difficult to align the anti-colic vent with the lid, and would not have liked to try to do that in the middle of the night or in dim lighting. I also found that I had to squeeze the anti-colic vent to make sure it stayed open, and felt like that was inconvenient. If the vent isn't open, then the whole nipple collapsed in and I would have to pull it out of my daughter's mouth, find the vent, squeeze it, pull the nipple back out, and my daughter was pretty annoyed by that point (this only happened a couple of times, but was still annoying!).I also really like that it takes 9oz of liquid. We use powdered formula, and if we mix 8oz of water plus four scoops of formula, it creates about 9oz of milk. Most bottles only take 8oz of liquid and actually leak if you put in more than that. I appreciated the extra space to mix a full bottle of formula.I am definitely going to hold on to these in hopes that a future kid of ours likes them!

Leaks Constantly
12 April 2018

I typically breastfeed my baby, but there are times when giving him a bottle of breast milk is more convenient. (i.e. in a checkout line, when he’s with Dad and not me, when grandparents just want the pleasure of feeding him, etc.). Because he doesn’t often get a bottle, it is important that the bottle we use is easy for him take. We have typically used another popular bottle, but thanks to the wee Spring Parent Panel we were able to try the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle. With our old bottle, it would typically take him a couple minutes to get used to the bottle and really start feeding and then there were always several pauses and ā€œunlatchingsā€ during those feedings. With just four total parts and the short height (3ā€) and wide diameter (almost 3ā€) of the bottle it can be cleaned with a sponge or bottle washer, but no little pipe cleaners or other special pieces are needed. This makes it especially useful if you find yourself needing to clean the bottle somewhere other than your home. The unique ergonomic design of the bottle also made it easy for my six month old to hold. The major flaw I found with this bottle is the vent system. To make it work properly you need to align the nipple and the "collar" to line up at a specific point. The spot is not clearly marked and there are no instructions that mention this. Once the pieces are aligned properly, I had high hopes that the leaking would stop, but it did not. It may have something to do with the 9000' elevation, but I'm not sure. The only solution I found was to keep the "vent" at the top of the bottle when feeding, but this is rather unrealistic in most situations (i.e. baby holding his own bottle, feeding in the middle of night in the dark). There were two othere things that bothered me about this bottle, and both are minor issues. First, the short fat shape of the bottle wouldn’t fit in the interior bottle pocket of my diaper bag (a Skip Hop Messenger Bag). It will fit in the exterior bottle pocket, so it was a minor compromise. Secondly, the protective cap on the bottle was difficult to remove. It definitely requires two hands to remove (with our old bottle I could hold it with one hand and push cap off with my thumb while my other arm and hand held my baby). The Philips cap is very wide and almost a perfect dome shape with one small indentation. It definitely took some getting used to and I still find it difficult to remove if my hands are at all damp (like they typically are after washing my hands). I couldn’t find a real solution to this, but in the future they can incorporate a small tab on the cap edge so it is easier to pop off.If they could fix the vent system so it wouldn't leak, the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle would be great! Thanks to the wee Spring Parent Panel for giving me the opportunity to try it.

One of the BEST Bottles!!
9 April 2018

My daughter is currently 5 months old & exclusively breastfed. She does bottle feeds when being babysat by grandparents or other caregivers . I was given the opportunity to review the Philips Avent Natural Bottles- Special Edition elephant design & I’m so glad I did! First off the design was just perfect- my daughters nursery theme is elephants so seeing that the design of the bottles were elephants & hearts made me so happy! Contained in the box were three 9oz Bottles with level 2 nipples, instructions & a booklet containing information about Philips Avent Sippy cups that also included a $1 off coupon for any sippy cup. (score!) After taking apart the pieces in order to sterilize, I was so amazed by how easy it was to clean considering we mainly use other bottles ...Ā MoreMy daughter is currently 5 months old & exclusively breastfed. (score!) After taking apart the pieces in order to sterilize, I was so amazed by how easy it was to clean considering we mainly use other bottles that consist of many pieces to clean with tiny brushes. So seeing that the wide neck design helped with the task of cleaning the 3 parts (bottle , plastic neck & nipple) & cover sold me because after pumping , feeding & putting baby to sleep the last thing you need to worry about is cleaning a billion parts! Plus side for breastfeeding & bottle feeding is that the wide neck makes it easy to pour the milk from the storage bag into the bottle without losing any little drops of milk (of course our liquid gold means a lot !) At first I was concerned about the provided nipples because my daughter is still using level 1 (slow flow) nipple since she tends to eat fast causing her to choke. I did need to buy level 1 nipples separately since the provided medium flow nipples caused her to choke a few times but at least I’ll have the level 2 nipples on hand when we’re ready to upgrade to a faster flow! The thick silicone breast-like nipples provided her comfort & provided me relief. I couldn’t have been happier with our experience with these bottles. She has less colic (big issue since she was born) & wasn’t spitting up or choking as much as before, in my book that was definitely a thumbs up! I would recommend this set for anyone looking for a bottle that has a breastfed baby with colic or issues with latching- give this bottle a try & see if the transition is easier between breast & bottle! Thank you WeeSpring Parent Panel for giving me the opportunity to try out these bottles in exchange for this review! (:

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple set. My baby has always preferred a certain style of nipple so I was nervous that he wouldn’t be interested but definitely willing to try and so glad we did! First night he wasn’t really sure what was going on. By night two, he took it like a champ. I really like how the bottle is made and there aren’t very many parts. It was very easy to clean and quickly put together. I also enjoyed the no drip design helping him have more control when he drinks. There are different nipples to choose from depending on what your baby needs. Quality Bottle and Nipple

Before my daughter was born, I was hearing conflicting advice when it came to an artificial nipple, whether it be for a bottle or pacifier: "No nipples until breast feeding is well established" and "Using a pacifier for sleep reduces the risk for SIDS" - I had made up my mind to not introduce a pacifier or bottle nipple until breast feeding was well underway, but that came to an end when my daughter lost weight in the hospital and we decided to supplement with formula. Long story short, we ended up using the pacifier and bottles from day one. It was important to find a bottle with a nipple that was designed just like the natural breast. Long story short, we ended up using the pacifier and bottles from day one. It was important to find a bottle with a nipple that was designed just like the natural breast. Breast feeding did come along, and now that I am back to work, it's more important than ever that my daughter takes easily to a bottle. I had been using another brand prior to receiving the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles. Breast feeding was almost going too well, as my daughter was being a bit stubborn and was resisting the bottles. Because of that, I was excited to try the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles, hoping that she would take to them better than the other bottles. The bottles are easy to assemble and the fact that each bottle only has 4 parts makes sanitizing a breeze. I did find that the tops were hard to take off, and almost impossible with one hand (which, being one handed is a common occurrence!). Unfortunately, my daughter did not immediately take to the bottle. This set came with the level 2, which is for babies one month and older. At the time, my daughter was 2 months and 2 weeks old, and she was born full-term. It seemed like the flow was much too fast for her, as she would constantly cry and gag. The nipples are, however, soft and flexible. They are also wider, like a natural breast. I did not notice any benefit to the anti-colic vent. As for the ergonomic shape, the bottle is easy to hold in one hand and easy to maneuver into a comfortable feeding position.I think the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles would be perfect for a parent looking for a high-quality bottle with fewer parts to keep track of. The nipples were my favorite part of the bottle, as well as the large, easy to read numbers on the side for measuring. Thank you to weeSpring for sending me the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottles as part of the weeSpring Parent Panel!

Surprisingly, he took the bottle like a champ (unlike my two oldest children who suffered from acid reflux). We tried two different nipple sizes that were both easy to latch onto; newborn and the slow flow nipple. The slow flow nipple allowed him to drink his milk at a controllable pace that satisfied him without causing stomach issues. After testing each nipple size, he was more comfortable with the pace of the slow flow nipple. Having two children who suffered from acid reflux and constantly in discomfort after a feeding it was important to find the right bottle that would help eliminate discomfort. The Philips Avent Natural Baby bottle has an Airflex vent technology that is integrated into the nipple that helps reduce colic and discomfort. My son is becoming very interested in grabbing and holding onto objects including his bottles. The Philip Avent Natural Baby Bottle slight curvy ergonomic shape makes it very easy for his tiny hands to grab/hold. I also find the shape easy and comfortable to hold unlike Dr. Brown's bottles that are straight and narrow. Also, these bottles have a few pieces that make it quick and easy to assemble. The 4ounce is the perfect size for smaller babies where the 9ounce bottle is for bigger babies who consume more than 4ounces in a feeding. I would highly recommended both the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle and Philips Avent Natural First Flow Nipple to my friends, family and any current or parent to be. Thanks to the weeSpring Parent Panel for providing me with these products.

She seemed more comfortable since her mouth was on the smaller size. She tended to always gag and choke with her old bottles but these nipples completely resolved that for her since it is much slimmer and has a more natural form than most other brands.Three parts, yes I said it THREE parts. Probably my most favorite feature, because as an exclusive pumper, I have enough parts to wash everyday. The parts are so easy to assemble especially in the middle of the night when you're half asleep, holding a screaming baby in one hand and then fixing a bottle in the other. One of my top most hated things to do is wash clothes, especially ones covered in spit up that is typically projectiled at you. My girl was an expert at it, so when I noticed her vomiting seem to almost disappear within the first day or so I was absolutely amazed and exstatic. This sold me even more on fully transitioning over to these bottles. My only drawback was the shape and only for one reason. Since the bottle has a wider shape and my baby girl is so tiny(8th percentile group) it was hard for her grip and elevate the bottle enough for her drink the milk on her own. But with this being the only drawback I still give it a total buy.
