I was given this to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. My husband and I are first time parents to an almost exclusively breastfed 9 month old. We’ve tried giving him bottles numerous times but he rarely takes ones unless there’s something other than milk in them. He also tends to get gassy when he does take a bottle. He now uses sippy cups for all other beverages but we still have a hard time getting him to take milk from anything other than the breast so we were more than happy to test out these Amit-Colic Flow 4 nipples but our hopes/expectations were low. To our surprise, he seemed to love it immediately. He actually looked surprised himself at first. I don’t know if it’s because he was getting more milk than he’s used to out of the bottle or what ... MoreI was given this to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I don’t know if it’s because he was getting more milk than he’s used to out of the bottle or what but he loves it. We stopped bothering to buy/try new nipples because it seemed like a waste to us since he never took to any of them. I’m so glad we got these to try. He’s never drank so much from a bottle before! He also doesn’t seem to be gassy after drinking from it which is great! We’re leaving him with my mom for a couple days next month and were so afraid he wouldn’t drink milk the whole time but now I’m confident he will with these nipples. Highly recommend to anyone with a breast-loving, bottle-hating 9 month old.

I received this bottle nipple set from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. After having tired several different types of bottles to relieve my little ones excessive gas discomfort I was very discouraged. I was very pleased to try the Philips Avent Anti-colic Bottle With AirFree Vent and the flow 3 nipple 2-pack. Not only is Philips Avent a well known and used brand but their design was quite different from others I have tried. The AirFree vent is a singular piece that once you tip up it locks the formula or milk in the nipple for the rest of the feeding. This allows for paced feeding without the nipple emptying and allowing air into the babies mouth, resulting in more gas and discomfort. This is the winning feature in my book!! For reference (although every baby is different) we have not yet been able to transition to the size 3 nipple at 5 months old. I do see it in the future but the flow is so fast that I definitely see it more suitable for much older infants. The only part I was disappointed in was the the packaging. It isn’t a deterring factor as I will still continue to use and purchase the product, but having to buy nipples in increments of 2 when the bottles are sold in increments of 3 creates extras which are not needed.

I used Tommee Tippee bottles with my first and have been using Dr. Browns Options+ with my new baby. Both of my daughters had colic and reflux, so I would have tried anything to help soothe them. While Dr. Browns seems to provide some relief from gas & colic, the downside is that there are SO many parts and we sometimes experience leaking.I loved that the Avent anti-colic bottles were just the bottle and the nipple. They are also larger bottles, which is great when you’re making 8-9 oz bottles as they’re not filled to the very top. We didn’t experience any collapsing of the nipple or any leakage. It feels almost impossible to over-tighten the top, which is nice. It’s like the top just locks into place. Sometimes our Dr. Browns nipple will get clogged with a speck of formula that’s not completely dissolved. We haven’t had that issue with the Avent bottles. We did not experience any change in gas while using these bottles and my daughter took to them right away. I would definitely purchase these bottles in place of the Dr. Browns as they’re still manufactured to provide relief from colic/gas, but they don’t have the added parts to clean. Every minute counts with a new baby.

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple set to test out!My little one is 6 months and started out as a breastfed baby, but due to being premie and not latching, turned into a bottle baby with breast milk. When we were continuing to try and breastfeed and bottle feed, I learned a lot about bottle nipple flow rate and correct bottle nipple shape and latching. This nipple shape is not great for correct latching to avoid air getting into the baby’s mouth. The top of my baby’s lip would curl under and it took a lot of effort to get the correct latch on the nipple which left my little one frustrated and me feeling defeated that it wasn’t just an easy and great bonding time during the feed. The top of my baby’s lip would curl under and it took a lot of effort to get the correct latch on the nipple which left my little one frustrated and me feeling defeated that it wasn’t just an easy and great bonding time during the feed. With the base of the nipple being so large and the nipple being small and not having a natural and slow slope to it, it doesn’t give a natural feeding feeling for the babies so it is really not great for a breastfed baby. The flow rate was great for my now exclusive bottle fed baby, but the flow rate isn’t great for a newborn, or breastfed baby that will need a slower flow rate. The nipple shape also makes it hard to clean really well when washing since it is a drastic change from the base of the nipple to the top. The nipple material was really sturdy and would not be broken down easy for teething babies, so that is a plus! It is also very helpful to have a variety of flow rates to choose from for each stage of feeding!Overall, this nipple may work for some babies and parents, but I wouldn’t recommend for breastfed babies, or parents looking to get a natural and easy latch and easy to clean nipple.
The Philips Avent Anti-Colic Size 4 nipples work great and have substantially reduced my daughters reflux and gas symptoms. You can hear the excess air actively being released from the bottle as your baby drinks. A great feature with the nipple design is that they seem to be an easy transition from breastfeeding to bottle feeding. I breastfeed and bottle feed and my baby took to these nipples seamlessly, making feeding a breeze. When it comes to assembling the nipples to the bottles, they create a super tight seal preventing leaks from happening while baby is eating. As for cleaning, these nipples are very easy to clean whether cleaning them with a standard bottle brush or using the dishwasher. My only complaint with the nipples is the recommended age for the nipple ... MoreThe Philips Avent Anti-Colic Size 4 nipples work great and have substantially reduced my daughters reflux and gas symptoms. My only complaint with the nipples is the recommended age for the nipple size seems to be a bit off. The nipples have a faster flow than other brands, which is a plus, but my baby was definitely not ready for a size 4 nipple at 6 months. She just turned 9 months and the size 4 nipple is finally the perfect flow rate. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with the Philips Avent 11oz Anti-colic baby bottle flow nipples size 4.
Avent have always been my favorite brand of bottles to use with both of my children although we typically use the naturals version. I love that there are only minimal parts with only the ring to hold the nipple in place. The nipples are soft and flexible. I was unable to tell if there was anything special to the design of these nipples versus other brands or versions. My baby is past the colic phase as she is 9 months old but still spits up regularly. I do not feel that these bottles helped her to spit up less but neither do other bottles that we have tried. I do appreciate that there are various flow rates to use based on baby preference, needs and age. We did try the size 3 flow nipples and this seemed a little fast for our baby but she is used to a slower flow to help reduce her spitting up. Based on her age she was recommended to use the size 4 nipples but we did not try those due to the size 3 seeming a little fast for her but this may be just our baby's preference. She did take to this bottle very easily and did not seem to mind that the nipple was a little smaller than her typical ones that have a wider base. I did receive these bottles and nipple set to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I received this product for the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Unfortunately, my baby was not very fond of these bottles/nipples, just due to the fact that they were a bit big for her mouth, which is small due to growth issues. This is not the first bottle we’ve had this issue with, and in no way do I hold it against the product. So, I am not able to speak on how well the bottle worked for my baby, but I can speak on how it looks and things I found that my first child would have benefitted from. The nipple that comes with the bottle is a size two, which for my first baby would have meant that I’d have to buy separate nipples starting out, since he was breastfed and used a level one flow for a while. The good news is, they have plenty of options on nipple flow. Starting with a level one nipple, which is the slowest flow they have, and going to a level four at the fastest. This level 3 is a good in between and is marketed for babies 3 months and up. With my first child, he wouldn’t have used this flow until he was probably closer to 8 months old, since he was a breastfed baby and preferred the slower flow for a while. So these options would have given him plenty of time and use with these bottles. All of the nipples for this bottle are the same size, which is an issue for my LO due to her small mouth. But, they are very flexible and very much comparable to a breast, which would make going back and forth between breast and bottle feeding much easier and not cause as much nipple confusion. I do think this nipple and bottle combo would help with reducing colic in a baby, just because of the way it works.
Big thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these Philips Avent Anti-Colic size 3 nipples. I was very excited to try the Philips Avent Anti-Colic bottles (again, thanks Stellar!) and appreciated having a few nipple flow rates to choose from. The bottle functioned exactly as promised and I was able to easily pace-feed my little guy. He had no trouble latching to the wider nipple, even though he is used to drinking from ‘standard’ sized nipples. Nipples come in a variety of sizes (1,2,3&4) and are easy to swap. Size 1 has one hole, size 2 has two holes and size 3 has three holes. The flow rate is written clearly on the side of the nipple, to eliminate any confusion. The nipple size provided (size 2) with the 9oz bottles was a bit too fast ... MoreBig thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with these Philips Avent Anti-Colic size 3 nipples. The flow rate is written clearly on the side of the nipple, to eliminate any confusion. The nipple size provided (size 2) with the 9oz bottles was a bit too fast for my baby. An easy switch for the size 1 nipple slowed the flow for my little guy. He has always needed a shower nipple than most - as a full term newborn using ‘preemie’ flow nipples and as a 4 1/2 month old continuing with a size 1 slow flow nipple.Because of this, we were not able to utilize a size 3 nipple - as the size 2 provided with the 9oz bottles was too fast. That being said, I appreciate the ability to easily swap the nipple to adjust the flow rate. Just as my baby needed to slow the flow down to a size 1, there are babies needing to increase the flow - and these nipples would work with any size Philips Avent anti-colic bottle (4oz or 9oz or 11oz). They can be used with or without the anti-colic vent in these bottles, and provide venting when used on their own. Upon a quick online search, these nipples are easy to find and purchase - same-day in stores or shipped to your home.I have no hesitancy recommending these anti-colic nipples to any bottle feeding parent. I look forward to continuing to utilize these in our bottle feeds.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bottle nipple set. I have twin 5 month olds who have very different feeding styles and both are picky when it comes to what type of nipple they will eat from. I was pleasantly surprised to find that both of them loved the Phillips Avent Anti-Colic Bottle Nipples. My son loves to look around and move while being fed so I often struggled with making sure he was not just sucking air out of a bottle nipple. With the Phillips Avent bottle I just had to tip the bottle down once and the nipple would stay full of milk regardless of the gymnastics my son was performing while eating. With the Phillips Avent bottle I just had to tip the bottle down once and the nipple would stay full of milk regardless of the gymnastics my son was performing while eating. My daughter has struggled with excess gas and spit-up since birth. These nipples helped significantly decrease how much she was burping and spitting up. She seemed much more comfortable after eating when we used these nipples.Additionally, we found it very useful to have three different nipple sizes to choose from. We tried Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 nipples to see which one worked best for each baby. It was like Goldilocks. Level 1 was a little too slow and Level 3 was a little too fast but Level 2 was just right for both babies.
Since day 1, our daughter struggled with reflux and having a hard time getting a good latch. The Philips Avent bottles have been a miracle product! We received the bottle set and size 1 and 3 nipples and it has made adjusting the flow rate super easy. We actually use both sizes of nipples at different times during the day. When our daughter is more awake and alert, we use the size 3 and when we’re putting her down for a nap or bedtime, we use the slower flow since she’s sleepy. My favorite part about the bottles and parts are how easy to clean, sterilize and reassemble they are- mom win for sure! Makes clean up super quick and hassle free.In my opinion, some of the 9oz bottles can be bulky and hard to get a comfortable grip on, but these are lightweight and easy to ... MoreSince day 1, our daughter struggled with reflux and having a hard time getting a good latch. When our daughter is more awake and alert, we use the size 3 and when we’re putting her down for a nap or bedtime, we use the slower flow since she’s sleepy. My favorite part about the bottles and parts are how easy to clean, sterilize and reassemble they are- mom win for sure! Makes clean up super quick and hassle free.In my opinion, some of the 9oz bottles can be bulky and hard to get a comfortable grip on, but these are lightweight and easy to hold. The anti-colic valve is really neat and allows the milk to fill the nipple ensuring that there are no air pockets for baby to ingest- a gas free baby is a happy baby!Prior to using these bottles, our daughter could never get a good latch on any other nipples. She has a really high palate and would lose suction creating a huge mess by the end of the feeding- also meaning she wasn’t getting every last drop of milk. She never makes a mess anymore and has had less spit ups occurring.Thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for gifting us this set of bottles to test and review. We now have piece of mind knowing our baby is getting every last drop of milk and that she’s comfortable.
