We recently had a baby, and we were putting off using pacifiers for the longest time. We had heard so many myths about how pacifiers are bad for teeth development, babies get too attached, and its hard to get your baby to stop using pacifiers.We had a great time using this with our baby which we only used at night. Baby wouldnt take any pacifier because the nipple would make her gag. This one is shorter and flatter than any other on the market and trust me I had bought SO MANY. My babes is exclusively breastfed so it can be harder. The nipple itself is soft, which is more like the breast. They are super lightweight which is a bonus (making them easier for new babies to keep them in).. and less falling out is a HUGE plus. The carrying case for the two pacifiers is also a sterilizing case!!!! I had no idea until I saw the instructions imprinted on the bottom. And its ridiculously easy to do.. especially if youre traveling around with baby on the go.Recommend!!!

We have been using Philips pacifiers since birth, so we are not surprised by the quality of the Ultra-soft soother that we were able to test recently. These soorhers are flexible and soft, so they fit perfectly to the baby's face without irritating it. Apart from that, my son really likes the nipple, but it may also be a matter of getting used to it because the only dummies we have used since birth are Avent soothers. They have a great design, they are smooth and shiny, resembling glass, which gives them a unique character. Due to the fact that the colors are universal, they suit both boys and girls. The dummies are also easy to clean and can be placed in a steriliser without fear of being damaged. I recommend it without hesitation!

I found it easier to carry and access the pacifier in the pocket of my diaper bag.

Before giving the pacifier to the baby, I tested the sanitizing process, which was quick and easy.When I first gave the pacifier to the baby, she immediately spit it out just like every other one before. Sigh. But I kept trying, and eventually she gave it a shot. She was able to keep it in her mouth longer than the previous pacifiers, so I think she at least tolerated it. After a few minutes of using it, I can confirm that it left no marks on her cheeks. Score! That night, after she nursed, I popped the pacifier in her mouth, and she used it to soothe herself back to sleep each time. I was so excited that we finally found the right pacifier for her. Since that night, she’s loved it some days and not so much other days, but takes to it better than any other. So while it’s a great product and the best one we’ve tried, she doesn’t accept it 100% of the time.One suggestion I would have for Philips Avent is to include a pacifier strap with this product. I used one we already had, and it was fine, but it would have been a nice little bonus for a basic holder strap to come with it.

Many pacifiers do not come with a case so this is a huge bonus for me! I usually stick the extra pacifiers for my baby in a ziplock bag in the diaper bag while we are out and about. Having the case makes it easier and more convenient to grab the pacifiers out of the diaper bag when needed. As for using the case as a sterilizer, I did not try it. Even though it’s BPA free, I don’t like the idea of using plastic in the microwave. I choose to sanitize using the top rack of the dishwasher or hand washing with soap and water. Overall, my baby is happy to have the Philips Avent Ultra Soft 6-18m Pacifier in her rotation and I am pleased with the functionality and thoughtful design.

Our son has sensitive skin (especially getting sweaty during the summer months!) and he is also very drooly. That combination with most pacifiers that have less flexible shields and the little vents leads to major irritated skin and a nice red clown circle around his mouth (this also happened all the time with our older sons). The Ultra Soft Pacifier helped our sons skin to be less red by irritating it much less than other pacifiers. Our son took to the pacifier super easily and it helped him calm down.
