Bowers & Wilkins B&W 805 D4 Stand-Mount Speakers Gloss Black
Excellence. Evolved. This is not just another speaker range. Each new generation of 800 Series Diamond is a landmark event for Bowers & Wilkins. This is their benchmark, their icon; the most advanced range of loudspeakers they know how to make. For Bowers & Wilkins, the 800 Series Diamond is everything they know, and everything they are. The 805 D4 stand-mount loudspeaker is the most compact model in the 800 Series Diamond range, but it's still packed with advanced technologies, including that all-important Diamond dome tweeter and Solid-Body Tweeter-on-Top. It's proof positive that small can still be beautiful. Features Diamond tweeter Solid-body Tweeter-on-Top Continuum cone bass/mid-Matrix Anti-Resonance plug Flowport Solid-Body Tweeter The iconic Solid-Body Tweeter-on-Top housing features an elongated form with a longer tube-loading system, creating an even more free and open sound with high frequencies. As before, the carefully decouples housing is milled from a single solid block of aluminum to better resist resonance. Rear-Mounted Crossover All stereo models in the new range now use rear-mounted crossover designs mounted on stiff aluminum spines. This isolates the sensitive capacitors from the effects of air pressure within the enclosure.

Heard them at bestbuy and compared them to the 805 d3. They are good but within tge same reslm as the d3. Say 10-13% better Not eorlds apart.

I have to recant my previous ratings in comparison with the D3 805. Both series are great but the D4 is a big step forward in its lows and improvements in the high frequencies. They are not harsh to me and with all tge improvements made to tge D4 series its a noticeable step forward. For my needs they are great for a small to medium large room. Have them set up with tge proper gear and placement and they will reward you with an amazing listening experience highly recommended 5 stars

I wouldn’t say they are worlds better than the 805 d3 possibly 10 to 13% better. They are very similar in many ways but also different physically Reaser bigger than the past generation my only problem with the speakers is I feel they don’t justify the $8000 asking price and that’s not even counting the investment of the speakers stands from bowers and Wilkins. I feel that the 805 D3 is a great alternative if you’re looking to be in the 800 series but at a lower price. If you’re going into the 800 series and you want their best bookshelf and current generation this would be it otherwise the 805 d3 is a good viable option

I own the 805 D3 and have auditioned the805 D4. It's not a night and daydifference. l'd say it's a 10-13 percentimprovement in aspects of the soniccharacter. If you're coming from the D2generation or before I'd say there is a 4060 percent improvement. That would beworth it. Consider the $8500 price and$1250 stands. Almost mandatory becauseyou'll want to bolt these down for such aninvestment. My opinion if you're comingfrom a D3 it's not enough to justify theprice of the improvement. Id also consider the durability of thw leather as well.
