Upon opening the package, the batteries that came with it were MASSIVELY eroded and left the battery ports rusted and filled with residual debris. The xylophone part doesn’t even fully work unless you hit a specific spot at a specific pressure. Just get a real xylophone

The Magic Touch Xylophone Wooden Musical Toy is wonderful! We love playing with this and the fact that it has beautiful, rainbow colored lights on it is an extra plus! The xylophone is lightweight and the perfect size for little ones (I even love playing with it!) There are 3 different modes so you can free play, have it play a song for you, or direct you which key to press to play one of several different songs. The keys are very easy to press and take very little pressure to respond to touch. The lights light up with each press of the corresponding colored key and there's an attached rubber coated wand to push the keys with (or you may use your fingers). The wand can store easily on the underside of the xylophone. The xylophone also has 2 sound settings and an off ... MoreThe Magic Touch Xylophone Wooden Musical Toy is wonderful! I love how portable this is and perfect for travel or even taking on long rides in the car! The songs are all classics well recognized. I really love everything about this xylophone, but I'd love if the cord for the attached wand was just a tad longer. Otherwise, this is perfect and my girls love playing with this!

I wanted to love this toy. I love all wooden toys but am also a fan of the nicely made plastic ones as well for safety reasons. This is a perfect combo of both features and is very cute. My 18 month old thought it was fun but quickly gave up the wand because the xylophone has trouble noticing the bangs and fails to play each note. She loved the musical variety and improvised playing it more like a piano in the free play mode. I let my 4 year old play it and she liked the other mode where you follow along with the notes played. She thought it was lots of fun but also found the rubber stick to be touchy and hard to use. We have a classic xylophone and this does not compare even though it is fun as well. My kids do not get the same satisfaction banging it and rarely ... MoreI wanted to love this toy. I love all wooden toys but am also a fan of the nicely made plastic ones as well for safety reasons. Great concept, however drumstick may be an issue
15 December 2021

My baby enjoyed this toy very much. It has fun music, lights to keep baby interested, and it's colorful. The only concern I have is that the little silicone drumstick that is attached was easily chewed up by my teething baby. The inner part is hard plastic, so no concern for the safety of that piece, but with the silicone being so easily chewed up, it could possibly present a potential for swallowing those pieces if you're not watching closely enough. If you plan on supervising your baby and playing along with this toy, it's great. I just would not recommend leaving baby alone with it because of this experience.

Great lights and music entertainment

The Magic Touch Xylophone Wooden Musical Toy is a great toy for a child that is learning to try to sit all the way up through childhood. I received this product in exchange for an honest review. This is one of the better xylophones I have ever seen and the flat surface responds quickly to touch without any hesitation. The sounds are beautiful but better than that is the colorful lights that light up a different color each time it is touched. The child can play one color and sound at a time and it also responds well when the wand is dragged across all the colors at once at any speed. There is also a button on the side that will play musical songs and the lights for each sound will light up without continued touching, and I have found this feature to keep the ... MoreThe Magic Touch Xylophone Wooden Musical Toy is a great toy for a child that is learning to try to sit all the way up through childhood. The only downfall to the Magic Touch Xylophone Wooden Musical Toy is that the strong connecting the wand to the xylophone is too short, making it difficult to play. It there was an extra inch or two inches added to this toy, it would be a top rated toy but the lack of length for the string makes it difficult for a child and even an adult to hold the wand in a placement to play the instrument.

Great quality toy!
29 October 2019

We received this product a couple weeks ago and it has been played with daily since. We love the Hape wooden toys and including Baby Einstein was a great bonus! This has the high quality characteristics of a great wooden Xylophone with many interactive features. My one year old loves the music modes and my four year old can follow along to play the songs herself. We will definitely by buying more of the instruments!

Love these Magic Touch Music Toys
5 November 2019

After we were wowed with the mini magic touch piano, I was excited for my little one to try the larger Magic Touch Xylophone. This one is just as fabulous with cool play along feature. That's our favorite....following the light and playing the xylophone along and actually playing a song. I have to admit everyone in my house has played this toy a time or two. Adults and older children. My 18 month old really loves being able to play and be creative with her own sounds/songs as well.

Pros and Cons
31 October 2019

There are definitely many things to like on this- especially that the keys are flat and that there are two sound options with neither being too loud (like many similar toys). I had a Hape xylophone and this one is definitely better made. Having the wand attached to the instrument is another huge plus. My four year old likes this more than my smaller children, and I wouldn’t really consider this a small toddler toy due to the instruction piece. It is very difficult to navigate between the instruction and allowing you to ‘free play’. Also the instruction song is fast, and it’s not possible to play it back with the lights that quickly. I do like the concept of having the instruction led by lights, and even just having it as an option in general. Waste of money
7 January 2021

What a waste of money. This thing barely works. You have to tap pretty hard on the keys just to hear a sound. And I’m an adult, so I can’t imagine a little kid making this thing work with their normal strength. My kids love xylophones but this was a complete dud and will go in the trash. I threw the box away, so I can’t go get my money back unfortunately. Just go on Amazon and get a normal one for $10!

Wonderful creativity!
7 November 2019

My 3 year old son absolutely loves the Magic Touch Xylaphone from kids2! He uses it all the time. As a parent I can say I love how there are two sound levels! I also love how it makes my 3 year old use his creativity by creating his own music or by following the light up keys to play popular classical tunes. I really love how it is constructed out of wood and plastic. It is super sturdy! I also really enjoy how when each key is pressed it will light up in that color. My sons favorite thing to do is make a "rainbow" by swiping the mallet across all the colors. This toy would be great for babies as well. It plays all of the classical tunes that Baby Einstein uses in their videos which was a major plus for us!
