BabyDan Premier True Pressure Fit Gate White

Great gate!! We needed a wide but short gate. This baby gate is perfect. It is very secure and user friendly. We didn't wait long for delivery either. Would definitely by this brand again and would recommend purchasing through Temple and Webster. With them what you see is what you get!

Awful Design

I Spent A Long Time Convinced I Was Doing Something Wrong With The Installation As It Couldn't Possibly Be This Rickety And Flimsy. However Looking At Some Of The Other Reviews It Seemed This Is The Design With Only 3 Points Of Content. Despite The Appropriate Pressure Being Used (With Red Indicators Gone) It Easily Falls Or Of Position When The Gate Is Open. I Tried Overtightening But This Has Now Damaged The Wall. I've Purchased A Replacement Which Was Significantly Cheaper And A FAR More Solid Construct With An Easier Handle. I'm Quite Upset At Having Spent This Much On Such A flimsy Gate.

Awful product

Not sure why this has such glowing reviews as you seemingly need a degree in engineering to work out how to assemble this as the instructions are completely useless!?The parts are poorly identified and the instructions minimal to the point of being unhelpfulGlad I didn't need to consider using the extensions as would never have been able to work out how to fit them ...Took everything out of the box, tried to work out what to do & put it straight back in the boxThe locking mechanism didn't seem especially robust so wouldn't have been confident of its longevity even if I had worked out how to fit this in the doorframeReally unhappy with the product and returning for a refund

Difficult To Open & Close

HiWe bought this pricey gate to fit our wide kitchen opening. However it is tricky to open/close and needs to be lifted each time due to the "stopper" at the bottom.Additionally both hands are needed to open/close the gate door, which is disappointing & inconvenient since we won't be able to carry stuff in or out without having to place it down beforehand!The last Lindam gate we had was way easier to use...Wouldn't recommend!

Disappointed

I bought a Babydan gate nearly three years ago and was pleased with it. It was strong and secure. They've apparently changed the design so that the securing pressure point opposite the catch is released when the gate is opened, meaning that the gate is then secured at three rather than four corners. The gate is therefore less stable when it is left open or unlocked. It is annoying to have to keep it closed and locked even when there is no need from the point of view of baby safety.Incidentally, the installation instructions are very poor.

Once fitted easy to use

Fitted this to stop my 18 month old granddaughter from going up the stairs. It fits nicely between walls and very thick skirting at the bottom.You have to remember that once unlocked you have to lift the gate to open it another security aspect. Really good to use, a far cry from the gate we bought 36yrs ago, nice not to have to step over, which at my age would be difficult.

Poorly designed gate only secured by three pressure points

As the title says, unlike other baby gates (even by the same brand), as soon as you use the door the pressure is released so only 3 points are holding the gate up. I own another gate from the same brand which is 6 years old now and doesn't have this design flaw.If you have a wider width at the top of the gate than you do at the bottom, this basically guarantees that the gate will then fall down or collapse if using extensions.Poor design choice, given most baby gates release the pressure on the internal part of the gate while maintaining 4 points of contact. Save yourself the hassle and pick another design!

Sturdy but take note if your space is less than 86cm

Sturdy and does the job. Note: that if your space is less than 86cm the parts needed to reduce the gate aren't included in the pack. Even though in the product specifications of the gate it states that it would fit from 73.5cm. I emailed BabyDan direct for information on the reduction kit and they kindly sent out, for free, the two parts we needed to reduce the gate.

I rarely write reviews but have been so pleased with this gate that I wanted to let others know about our experience. I purchased this to replace an old similar pressure style gate that use to keep the dogs out of our hallway/bedrooms. My son is about to start crawling and I want to ensure the floors in that area stay clean for him. I was very hesitant on the other models that drill into the doorway since we just had our house painted a few months ago. Based on the size of the doorway, I ordered this and two extension pieces. Once everything arrived, we put everything together to try them out. It was confusing, but we ended up not needing the two separate extension sets since the gate came with two...so I'll be returning those. The instructions have you adhere the pressure "feet" to the doorframe, but we purchased the Wall Nanny on Amazon for $10 to protect our paint. This gate is everything we had hoped for. It is incredibly lightweight but the most sturdy out of any we tried. It was well built with all the pieces welded clean unlike the others we tried. Also, my favorite part, this gate is incredibly quiet. It does not make any sound whatsoever when opening or closing which is huge. The previous one we were replacing would wake up our son nearly every time we opened/closed it, which had us constantly on edge. This gate solved every problem and we could not be happier!

Well built gate that fitted.

I'm not sure if our house has particularly wide or odd sized doors, but it was difficult to find a gate that fitted the width. This one does the trick and keeps our Spaniel in the kitchen when needed.It is also quite a nice design that the door easily swings both ways (for when a furry friend is sleeping in front of it) and has a fairly wide opening vs other gates I've seen. Would recommended.
