Babyletto Hudson Dresser - White

I purchased the 'natural/white' look Hudson changing table for our baby's nursery. While I liked the overall style of the product and the size, there were two key issues that I had.1. The 'natural' look was not natural at all. Based on the pictures, I thought it was going to be a natural looking pine or birch wood look. What this turned out to be was a white-washed wood look veneer with a pinkish undertone.2. Quality in our opinion was very low. Big THANK YOU to Target for providing exceptional service and letting us return the product to the store. I was very upset that this did not fit our needs for our little one and stressed about what to do, but it was a relief that my husband could take it back even mostly assembled without the original packing. We had our registry through Target and will continue to supply our little one via Target going forward because of this!

Cute and Functional

Long (deserved) review coming in: I purchased this to go with an espresso colored crib I already had, but loved the two tone so I could incorporate white into the nursery as well. Over all I give it 4 stars! It definitely took my husband and I 3-3.5 hours to get it completely together, but honestly it wasn’t hard at all. Lots of steps and when we opened the directions there were no worded instructions, just pictures. We were a little scared after seeing that, but honestly each illustration tells you exactly how to do it. We aren’t very handy people, but overall we thought it was pretty straightforward and easy to build with only just a screw driver. Also, if you nick it or aren’t careful enough, it is easy to scratch or have small areas of damage if you’re not careful, just be careful and careful when removing from packaging and you should be ok. I wasn’t going to use the tray on top of the dresser, but what is really nice is that there are little rubber rests on the bottom of it, that not only help hold it in place but help so it won’t scratch the top of the actual dresser. I haven’t decided if I will use it, but it’s nice to have the option to take it off or put it on if you want. To build this, you definitely need 2 people and the instructions do tell you this, and I will definitely agree with that. Most you can do by yourself, but you will need 2 people for a couple of the steps. The drawers were smaller than I expected, but the cabinet was bigger than I expected and I think that helps make up for the smaller drawers. Overall, I am happy with the piece. The reviews were not the best on this piece and I was hesitant to buy it, but I think it’s a good product worth buying and it’s easy to put together. Don’t overlook it! Also, so glad I bought it a couple weeks ago. The price just increased $100 and I got it on sale before the price increase! That’s a win win for me!

Disappointed in scratches and Porch assembly

Modern, nice looking dresser with spacious cabinet and drawers. The changing table with sections for diaper changing accessories provide additional (welcomed) functionality. While I expect to get good usage out of this piece of furniture, I'm really disappointed in the number of blemishes in the wood and especially the white front doors. The manufacturer has agreed to send me new parts, but what an inconvenience to have to disassemble and reassemble certain parts after having paid for assembly by Buy Buy Baby's partner, Porch. Speaking of third party assembly, I'm most disappointed in the lack of quality and professionalism of the handyman sent by Porch. Do NOT buy this!

Do not buy this table. Its a ridiculously sized. It needs to be much deeper. Google it. At fifteen months, the average girl is almost 30.5 inches (77 cm) tall; and Boy is 31 inches (78 cm) tall. This is not a cheap item. When you add the padding on the side and the top it will be even worse. There are much better designs than this one. In addition, it is NOT "Light ASSEMBLE REQUIRED". Short of cutting the boards and putting the holes in, all the rest was required. It took hours to assemble. It is NOT an IKEA-easy-assemble peace. I would not recommend it to anyone. Only one positive, fully assembled it look nice. We took the natural finish.

Good quality

Great for a small nursery. We love that it doesn't have handles, just a place to grab and open. The shelves are very spacious, and you can move the one shelf to change the size of the two areas. Although this dresser came in SO MANY PIECES, it wasn't terrible to put together. I put it together myself at 34 weeks pregnant. Just needed help every once in a while picking up the larger/heavier pieces. Very sturdy and does not feel like it would tip over is pulled on, but still comes with anchoring hardware. Matches our Babyletto Lolly crib perfectly. Bonus that it comes with the changing tray that you can remove later without leaving any noticeable screw holes.

It's bigger on the inside.

The changing table is natural wood in white/natural and attaches without drilling a hole into the top of the dresser. Design: Unit is very visually attractive without being overpowering. It was very easy to design the rest of the nursery around the white/natural version of this dresser (and the matching crib). There is a crazy amount of storage and I have no idea what I'd do without it! Stability: The unit is extremely stable after about half the assembly is complete, including two horizontal crossbeams and two heavy back pannels for diagonal support. After the full assembly unit is a solid piece of furniture that I expect will last until our daughter is ready for a teenage dresser. Even before earthquake proofing, the unit was very difficult to tip. Assembly: 40 minutes, but you'll need some helping hands at points (lifting partially assembled frames onto bases etc). Almost all fasteners are screws or cam bolts, so have an electric screwdriver handy. IMPORTANT: DRAWER BACKS ARE COMPRESSED WOOD THAT WILL SPLIT AND SCREW HOLES WERE NOT WELL DRILLED ON MY UNIT. You may need to use a drill to ensure the drawer back doesn't split. Changing table is securely attached by two brackets that drill into the back of the dresser. Downside: They won't let you ship it to a target store, so you have to rely on Fedex to deliver a piece of furniture. There were huge gashes in the packaging (though luckily the great packaging protected the furniture).

Safety Baby Concerns

We purchased a modern expensive crib ONLY to realize how poor quality this product is. We are extremely disappointed, the crib has very sharp edges which are very dangerous to our baby’s hands. The sharp edges are very rough and you can easily see the difference on the paint. In addition, the crib came with scratches.. this is a safety concern.

Wonderful! Fantastic amount of storage space given smaller size

We bought this to match the Hudson Crib in white and while it is on the expensive side compared to some other changing dressers, it really is quite nice and very sturdy. It looks great in the nursery with our crib and our other furniture and decor. We are very, very happy we opted to splurge on the matching changing table/dresser.We did not expect the drawers to be as deep and wide as they are---it's wonderful! Also the non-drawer shelf portion is huuuuuuuge. We fit our entire stock of diapers on the bottom section (over 300) and then put a little basket on the top shelf and fit 3 packs of 32 diapers with the little plastic opener inside the basket and on the shelf to easily pull out, push in for access. The amount of storage that comes in this small package is really great.I am about 5 foot 4 inches and the height of the changing portion is nice for me and fantastic for 6 foot 1 inch husband. It might be hard for someone shorter than me to comfortably lay their baby down and change the diaper, but it definitely works for my height and above.We have built a lot of furniture from this one Swedish furniture store in our time and so we are very versed in putting together boxed furniture---this particular piece was slightly more painful than other pieces we have built because some of the identifying stickers were missing and there were a couple of holes that were supposed to be there that weren't. It was not the end of the world for the missing holes because we just drilled some ourselves and the unlabeled pieces just slowed down the process because we had to triple check before moving to the next step. All in all it was not terrible to put together just annoying at times. It took just over an hour to finished.

few defective pieces

we liked this when we saw it in the store, it is soft close and would fit in our small place. it took us 5 hours to assemble the drawer. it is easy to assemble, it just takes time. however, 2 pieces came damaged and one piece (the cabinet divider) was longer than should be so it destroyed the backboard when we put it in. not worth paying full price for this. hope we could get partial refund or something.

what a terrible mistake!

Unfortunately, I ignored the reviews & decided to give this dresser a chance! Its so disappointing to say that while it “looks” great if not in use. It is a terrible product. The drawer fell apart within A WEEK of assembly and i hired someone to put it together for me. Thankfully, my baby was not on his play mat where he normally hangs out on the floor. While i put laundry away etc in his room. Buy-buy baby & this vendor are horrible with customer service. I will now have to pay someone to unassemble so they can have this poorly made product back in order to process my refund. Save ur time, energy& money and pick a different furniture piece for ur baby!
