Babyliss Pro GoldFX Clipper (Fx870g)

So I’m a barber. I’ve owned lots of clippers. This one is too large for my hands, I am a petite female though. I wanted to return it and screwed up on timing so I couldn’t. But I will keep and continue using. A huge issue for me is the battery life. I have the gold trimmer like these, I have no issues doing 14 hair cuts over an 8 hour period and it last just fine. Not these clippers. I’ve gotten to where I have to charge them when I leave for lunch or they don’t last. Other wise they cut great. They are pretty quite. Oh the guards are flimsy and cheap but luckily all my wahl guards fit it or else I’d be screwed cause one broke a few days after use. I’ve never had that happen in my career. I miss my wahls. : (

Favorite clippers, hands down! These are a beauty and a total beast. Purchased on Amazon, I immediately zero gapped them when they arrived so I could get the closest cut. They came with a toll that helped align the blade. I may have to realign it soon because there is an area on the blade that may be cutting a smidge too lose, otherwise these are great. I love that the blade is positioned up and away from the body, which overheating is never an issue. It’s cordless, which is another plus, and charges at full in roughly 3 hours—a full charge may last me a full month or so of 2x weekly 20-30 minute cuts. #HairCare #MensGrooming #SelfCare

Bad clippers

I had bought two of these clippers and they were great , at first ! My gold one has no problems whatsoever , but the black ones , 2 weeks after purchase , were cutting off in mid cut and wouldnt turn back on! I thought they were dead , but they were fully charged and still do it. This company now wont fix or replace them! The clippers I got happen to be bad , but overall , the babyliss clipper is a good clipper for anyone interested , just be careful who you purchase from. I will NOT be buying from these people again.

hairdresser of 12 years, I wanted to step up my game and purchase a cordless clipper. I bought these because of the great reviews. LOVED LOVED LOVEDDD These Clippers for a good solid month. after about a month they were starting to get really loud, not understanding why the change. I cleaned these after everyyyy haircut. they were too pretty not to! no visible hairs in the blades! ..... so I finally took my clippers apart, which I hate doing! I couldn't believe how much hair was inside the clipper! there is no barrier to keep the hair from getting inside the clipper! I wish I could attach a picture to show you how much hair was allowed inside the clipper :-( :-( I cleaned it out as best as possible without taking the whole thing apart. but I believe there is hair so ... Morehairdresser of 12 years, I wanted to step up my game and purchase a cordless clipper. Good and Cheap

Everything is good, saw some reviews that said you could get a used one that didn’t work… so I bought the insurance with it since it’s still like 70$ under Amazon. Got it and it felt like someone else had it but it was way too clean and everything was packed nicely. Had some charge on it that lasted for like 20 minutes without charge… everything seems to work fine so far. It’s been like 2 weeks and used it like 3-4 times already so all good. Better prices than Amazon or anywhere else! (They are original not replicas)

Great clipper for professional use

I absolutely love these clippers. They are not super heavy, the battery last a long time (Much longer than Wahl Magic Clip) and it cuts very clean. A few cons about them are: 1. Difficult to impossible to 0 gap the blades, so the no guard is similar to an open clip on a 0 gapped clipper. 2. Because it is bulk, it makes it more difficult to cut around the nape area. It is doable, just more difficult. 3. Does not do well with clipper over comb......leaves too many straglers to clean up. Those are minor flaws. If you are a professional and use your clippers everyday, these are definitely worth the price.

Not a fake

So definitely wasn’t a fake. If you’re like me when I was shopping buying for this low of a price is scary. But I will say you get what you pay for. The blade is the basic metal taper blade with the groves so don’t expect the graphite blade. Btw I purchased the fx870s (silver) for exact purchase if that matters to you (it does for me). It’s a good clipper and has a quality feel. The click lever with the notches is a favorite of mine right now since it helps you not get lost in the fade. The shipping was as expected and arrived on time.

Pretty, cordless, and quiet!

Works great! SO quite! It’s great for kids cuts! You do need to oil them after you brush the hair out and also get the warranty because for some reason these clippers start to get loud and not work right after a year. (That’s if you use them daily. I’m a hairstylist)

Replaced the blade and the clippers became unusably loud. Research suggested that I replace the cam follower, but you cannot purchase that part alone.

They are very nice looking and solidly built. The blades are not particularly sharp even new. I liked using them to cut small children's hair. The blade developed a chip and I purchsased replacement blade from Sally's beauty supply. Replacing the blade is pretty straight forward. You remove the two top screws which hold in place the top blade and pins down the bottom blade that is seated in the cam follower. After replacing the top blade, I oiled the clippers and turned them on only to be greeted by an abnormally loud buzzing. My research led me to believe this was an issue with the cam follower wearing down (though this is not likely, as I had only used the clippers like five times). These clippers are EVERYTHING!!!!

I've had these for a week, and they have changed the hair game for me completely. I have the Andis BGRC, with all the blades and they're great but I needed something with a lever. These are so lightweight and so quiet! I love Babyliss products but these are just amazing. Even the more experienced barbers with more expensive clippers that I work with love them and want a set. The only downside is that the run time is only 2 hours and I work in a barber shop but at least I can plug them in and keep it moving. With my other set i have to set the clippers on the charger to get them to recharge and be cordless again. I don't regret this purchase at all. Plus I got a great deal between my professional discount and the 25% off.
