I have found these socks to be very effective in preventing blisters. I had a recent cellulitis as a result of an infected blister and have gone to great lengths for this not to be repeated. So far so good, as I initially purchased these some months ago.Also, I wanted to thank your staff for the seamless manner in which I had to return an order due to my error in purchasing the wrong size/model. Kudos to all!

I bought two pairs of these socks 5 years ago for mother/daughter backpacking trip (2 weeks) on the John Muir Trail. I've used them many more times as boot socks over the years. I've also hiked on the Tahoe Rim Trail (1 week), in Hawaii with Teva's in rainforest and lava rock areas, and up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (day hike) in 115 degree heat from the Colorado River after rafting in those same socks! I discovered Balega training for my first marathon as a 49-year old runner. I've never had a blister in Balega socks nor lost a toe nail (did lose a big toe nail after cycling from Montana through the Canadian Rockies in another brand). I am an ultrarunner and while the socks I received appear to be of the expected high quality, I will not again buy from Balega.com. In this day of modern ecommerce, there is no excuse for the lack of communication from this company.Once I received my order confirmation (immediate), the status sat for more than a full week listed as "processing" with no other communication from Balega. I tried to reach someone to find out if there were out of stock or whatever but to no avail. Other brands I've used will ship within 24 hours and keep me automatically in the loop with updates the entire time. It's 2024 Balega ... get with the program.
I purchased the bundle a month ago. After the first time wearing them I took my shoes off and took the socks off. There is one place in the foot that I will not allow blisters as they are almost impossible to cure . That is at the Achilles tendon. In this sock at that position there is a ridge of about 1/8" due to the material changing and that is the culprit. Please be careful I would like to send them back, please let me know how to do that.
I own a pair of Balega socks that I've been using for 6 years and look like new. I bought 5 pairs of Balega socks a month ago and I was very excited to try them on but I was disappointed when I received them. Thread is coming off from all the pairs of socks and they do not feel sturdy as the one's I've been wearing for years. I am not sure if the quality of the Balega socks changed but that would explain it.
I ordered 12 pair of the blister resistant quarter socks but never got them. I ordered those 12 pair along with 6 pair of hidden comfort. When I received the hidden comfort, I had to call customer service to find out that because the blister resistant were not in stock they just canceled that part of the order. No notice, no email, left me high and dry right before a 2 week hiking trip.

What I felt was a let down was the Balega Blister Resist-Crew, and I will tell you why: For an XL they were definitely not. Tight, uncomfortable, and I usually size 12. I asked for Maximum Cushion, and what I got was mostly a thin sock, with some areas thicker. The whole exercise to help you find the right sock based on my preferences backfired drastically. I wanted/needed thick all over but I got a tight, perhaps Bluster Resist, but I found these socks did not meet the description. At the tune of $21+ I had no room for error, and I am not the type to return something I wore, even if it was briefly. Took a variety of sock options on a recent multi day hike; toe socks, merino and these. These were the only option that gave me NO blisters. The only issue for me is that the synthetic component does increase the foot odour. But when you're hiking, it's all about reducing damage to your feet and these are ideal in that regard.
I love these socks so much! i used to always get blisters on my feet when running. I ended up going through 5 different pairs of shoes before thinking to try better socks. these socks have fixed all of my problems!! they feel so good on my feet. they are soft and cushy! the best part, I have yet to get a blister in any shoes since getting these socks. 10/10 would recommend.
