Love the power and quick is blends. But heavy to hold, and the speed buttons don't self hold, you have to keep holding them down.

I already own a 1973 Bamix 100w that is still running as new. This new, longer one clearly has the same build quality, but with the extra power. With the Bamix Wet/Dry food processor, I have a fine combination of tools. The 240w works effortlessly and effectively. I had bought a stick mixer recently, to update the 100w model, made by Electrolux. A 600w unit no less! It burnt out after four uses. Lesson learned! Back to Bamix - thus the 240w purchase! This model does the work that the E/lux model was burnt out on! What does that tell you about Bamix products?

Great product, great price. We had the smaller version, the wand came away from the body, Bamix replaced it no questions asked. The gastro is definitely more powerful. We are happy to have both blenders of such quality.

I owned a Bamix blender for nearly 30 years and it finally quit running, so I purchased a new one. These are the best hand blenders on the market. I also had a Cuisinart stick blender which was only one speed. It didn't get as close to the bottom as the Bamix and only had a fixed blade, where the Bamix has 3 blades.
Have had one before and absolutely loved it - only replacing as the old one was submerged in water! It had lasted 13 years, so hoping this one survives for longer.
I chose this model because I wanted the longer arm for blending soups directly in the pot. With the longer arm I can get right down to the base of the pot without getting soup all over the handle. Large batches of soup are a breeze as the 350W gives me the power I need and doesnt put a strain on the mixer. I also use the mixer in long narrow jugs for making frappe. I think its worth spending that little bit extra to get a more powerful bamix.
I Binned my KitchenAid hand mixer, bits of plastic broke off so wouldn.t stay together I had a Bamix years ago in the 1980s I should never have changed. I bought the Professional model for the stronger motor , didn't need the longer shaft but I will get used it .So well made and strong, The KA was like a toy compared.
I loved my Bamix SwissLine Cassette 240W White so much that I just had to have the Gastro Stick as it has more power and a longer stem. DH said to me "You already have a Bamix, what do you want another one for?" I replied "Well, now I will have one for each hand, and I will give the more powerful one to my less dominant hand". LOL. Bamix make the UGLIEST looking products, but it does not matter as they are beautiful on the inside. Strong, powerful, fast, quiet, no splashing and hard working. Thanks KD for the great price, service and the way you package items with care. :) Happy return shopper. :)
I'd previously owned an Italian, powerful stick blender for 20+ years. Finally time to move on...this one is longer and even more powerful than my old one. I've bought a tall, round, spaghetti container to whip sauces/mayonnaise. Lifting it up and down repeatedly through the ingredients is what creates perfect results. Also avoids spillages as I put a lot of liquid into my daily smoothie.
Upgraded to this after my household Bamix finally bit the dust after constant use over 30+ years. Took a little while to adapt to the heavier weight and having to hold the button in constantly, I know this would be a safer way than the old button. Very happy with it so far, hopefully it will last as long as my previous one.
