Firstly, I know that the Bamix is top quality, highly recommended to me by friends who use the gadget. So this is my first Bamix and I love it already. Love the colour but more important, the entire set is amazing. I already threw away some old gadgets as the Bamix replaces them all. Saving space, being a multi-purpose kitchen workhorse. It is also my first time shopping with Peter of Kensington and I am amazed by the professionalism and efficiently of sales. I got my delivery well on time. More importantly was that Peter Of K called to double check my address, which is impressively given that most other shops never bother. Hence I will definitely shop with you again, great service and value for money. Thumbs up!

I do not know what came over us - spending so much money on it - may be the long guarantee - the reviews here are like Trip Advisor, one person says a place is fab - the next says the food etc was awful - do NOT buy this product - there are less expensive options - so we have now asked John Lewis to replace it: here's what we wrote to them :We wish to return a food blender, bought before Christmas, as it is faulty : the blades keep coming off during use, despite being fully secured. If the blade does remain intact, it takes ages to blend what you're working on.Yes, we have the receipt......... etcThere are not enough extras - bowls - blades.I am serious, I'm doing you a big favour, do NOT buy this blender. end

Blades are too difficult to put on and off

I bought this item as a long term investment but I am having difficulty using it. The blades are too stiff to put on and off. Once they are on it is near impossible to take them off. I am weary as blades are sharp and you can easily cut yourself trying to get them off. I only used it once and cannot see myself using it again. I am in the process of returning it hoping for a full refund. It had so much promise with all good reviews but it has a major design fault.

Essential in my Kitchen
29 July 2020

I am so happy with my Bamix! I use it everyday. From preparing nice lattes to amazing omelettes and crushing nuts and so many other things in a couple of minutes. Cooking became much easier and it is so handy. I'd say that the only downside is not being completely dish washer safe (one cannot detach the metal part and place it in the dish washer), but it has not been so much of an issue for me.I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking for a good hand blender. I also bought the Slicesy attachment, and it basically substituted well the standing blender and a food processor and is it handy and easier to clean than these appliances. Oh yes! I must mention that doing mayos is a bliss with the bamix!

Good quality
19 May 2014

I purchased this to replace an old, generic brand hand mixer that was on it's last legs. The quality for this is amazing. It runs very quietly and sturdily. The only peeve I have is the fact that you have to continually hold the button down for it to work and the length of the stick is a tad short if you want to blend a batch of soup straight from the stockpot. Having to clean it with the power cord attached is a bit as fiddly as my last hand blender allowed removal of the stick for safe rinsing. The processor attachment works very well even if it is a tad small. Handy for grinding small amounts of nuts or garlic, ginger etc. I'm overall impressed with the quality of the unit as it doesn't seem to overheat as quickly as my last stick blender and blends extremely ... MoreI purchased this to replace an old, generic brand hand mixer that was on it's last legs. The stand is a bonus and looks very presentable to leave out on display in the kitchen. I wont ever be changing back to a different brand though, despite my peeves as the quality of the motor is superior to any other brand of stick blender I've used in the past.

High quality is evident
17 April 2018

The Swissline stick mix is smooth quiet and powerful. It certainly saves a lot of cleaning up and allows processing of small amounts and quantities in comparison to a blender. We have not had the Bamix very long but it can transform foods from runny liquid into creamy or even semi-solid consistency very quickly. For example, be careful how long you whip fresh cream; I did some to top off my wife's dessert, and it was turned into butter in about 10 seconds. It is great to process soups from chunky into creamy in the pan in a minute or so, and I am sure we will find many other ways to benefit from having this machine in the kitchen. For $400+ I think the mincer blade should be included; that is my only criticism. All the best

I would definately recommend a bamix
24 July 2022

I am very happy with my swissline bamix stick blender, ihave found them to be the best stick blenders. Prior to dropping my previous bamix blender, which upset me very much as i had it for over 20 years.I originally replaced it with another cheaper brand which was totally useless. I am much happier with my Bamix.

My Favourite Kitchen Item
13 May 2020

This is my absolute favourite kitchen gadget. It's so easy to use, easy to clean and comes with its own storage station. It has a load of gadgets and accessories, so you can whip, chop, blend, etc. I've used it almost every day.I recommend watching the videos that show you how to use it, because it shows you all the things it's capable of to justify the purchase cost, because it's not a cheap item by any means. I was swayed as soon as I saw it though, because my parents had a Bamix which lasted well over 30 years, I just needed a bit of a nudge.I definitely won't regret buying this.

Works well but some weaknesses
15 April 2021

I thought long and hard before buying this tool, having never had a stick blender before. In terms of blending it works well. But it is scary: taking off the tiny blade from the main part of the machine is fiddly and if you touched the switch to 'on' by mistake while you were doing it, you could shred your fingers. And from a practical point of view, cleaning the 'stick' part which is permanently attached to the motor handle is problematic, you can run it under the tap, but does it really not damage the switching mechanism? And the suggestion that you run the machine under the tap while switched on, to clean it, breaks all the rules about not mixing electricity and water. I guess the Swiss are either more organised or more relaxed. The stand is a bit plasticky, but ... MoreI thought long and hard before buying this tool, having never had a stick blender before. The instructions are pretty useless, too.

Worth every penny
9 May 2021

My grandma used to say, "You buy cheap, you buy twice". This is certainly the case here. I bought a cheap hand blender and it lasted just over twelve months, so decided to splash out on this and boy was it worth it! This solid, well made machine is everything you could want and more from a hand blender. It does so much more than whisk and you can feel the quality. This is an investment worth making. So far I've made delicious mayo, next is peanut butter and guacamole.
