As someone who has used Bose for a number of years, I opted for this up-grade which was very competitively priced. Wow ! what an improvement in performance ! Yes they feel bulkier, but that is worth the enhancement in listening pleasure, and sound separation. I have not used the Bluetooth facility as I employ them with my old school I-Pod Classic, but lend life to my sound collection. So pleased I bought.

Very good. There is something off on the strings when listening to WAV files of Night on Bald Mountain or Gustav Holst The Planets. The delicate quiet parts sound great but I was expecting more when the strings are playing a quiet retreat to a violent brass part, or the quiet ting of a triangle. Sounds better than my Bose phones I bought at target for $300 a few years ago but was expecting more. In my 20s, I owned two carver 1,000 watt 8ohm amps, a high end Yamaha pre-amp, super fat monster cables, and high end infinity speakers. That produced a very real sound stage with extreme realism in the quiet parts, and perfect reproduction of loud parts. These headphones make the mark except the sound stage depth with your eyes closed, which seems good but not breathtaking. ... MoreVery good. If you are only using these for rock, it wont matter they will be amazing, very very good drums, realistic. I think with high quality sound files, so not MP3s, and with symphonies or with John Williams movie soundtracks, they are very good and you would need to go up to the $1,500 range to really hear a big improvement.

I am a major fan of Bang and Olufsen and Bose, too. I already have the Bose 35 ll and thought Id try these. I love the sound, a bit more rich on the bass but equally clear and lush like the Bose. My issue - I dont find these to be user friendly. They connect to devices easily but the touch controls on the right ear cup are a major nuisance. Finger swiping up, down, around, side to side is not concise for controlling the music. Its too aggravating. As a result, I find myself using the Bose more frequently. I think the B&O is a poor design but the sound is great. Id also stay away from the white ear cups - difficult to keep clean - from makeup, hair colour, etc.

This is a quality set of headphones with great low end bass, One the most solid feeling headphone builds around, and good battery life. I bought these because they pick up the low end bass that other headphones couldn't. Sound is subjective, so not everyone will agree, but I thought the sound on these was too warm. Compared to my Momentum 3's the highs were just mediocre and the Momentums upped their game to catch almost as much of that deep low end. Where the Momentums have great highs and great bass and sound alive with minute detail coming through, the H9 gen 3's missed that detail and were not as alive and clear. They sounded great, and if you listen to them by themselves without comparison, you may be perfectly happy, but for me I ended up keeping the Momentum ... MoreThis is a quality set of headphones with great low end bass, One the most solid feeling headphone builds around, and good battery life. They sounded great, and if you listen to them by themselves without comparison, you may be perfectly happy, but for me I ended up keeping the Momentum 3's and selling these. I don't discount these for my decision because again, sound is subjective and many people will love the sound of these. I was happy with them as well but didn't need two sets of high end headphones. Comfort wise, the padding at the top reduced in size as it touched your head and could cause some annoyance and pain after hours of wear (I often wore these for most of a work day between listening to music and taking conference calls. The BT was fine, nobody complained they couldn't hear meand I never had connection issues. The app was also good for setting up the headphones just how you liked them. Touch controls were almost worthless as it was very difficult to register the right action. That, the headband and me liking the sound better on Momentum 3's is why I rated 4 stars.
Amazing sound, love B&O stuff and this was exactly as advertised. Good ANC but mainly the quality of the sound and sensible design decisions made it an easier choice. Things like not having to always be on to run (B&W PX7's), options for replaceable parts like earcups and battery (stupid in this day and age when products, especially electrical, should be designed to last as long as possible). The soundstage is just a lot of fun has enough detail for me and my library of 320kbs songs. Only gripe is it doesn't come with a hardcase for transport but 3rd party ones can easily be found. All in all a brilliant product
Even though the Sony 1000m3 gets all the attention when it comes to noise cancellation, IMHO its ugly as sin. The B&O H9i offers very good noise cancellation, and uncoloured natural sound. Between the two, the H9i sounds more authentic to the recording. And the looks, well no contest. The H9i are simply gorgeous. Some fun things about the H9i - expensive quality impression - ergonomic external user interface for all functions - playback stops when removed from head, and resumes when returned - replaceable battery - beautiful fit and finish - 18-21hrs is Playback - there is an external 3.5mm jack to keep listening if the battery is dead - ANC works great, good enough for most situations - balances natural sound - phone app to tweak the sound profile for your ... MoreEven though the Sony 1000m3 gets all the attention when it comes to noise cancellation, IMHO its ugly as sin. I have the B&O H6, H7, and H8 too. Purchased when they were first released respectively. And while all are great in their own right, the H9i has all the functions you could want. I will most likely sell them now that I have the H9i. TL;DR - the H9i is headphone perfection.
Good Points: Attractive, stylish design and very comfy for me to use having been used to on ear headphones in the past. Great lows when listening to dance music and when used in conjunction with the app you can set the sound up to suit whatever it is you are listening to. They are not headphones that only audiophiles should use and sound great when listening to music on your mobile device.Improvement Points: The price is high assuming that some people will end up paying the full price for the current model. My advice would be to opt for the previous model where the only difference is that the music won't stop if you lift the ear piece away from your head. If that feature is worth the extra hundred quid or so then no problem. Superior sound quality, amazing comfort, excellent style, the ability to CHANGE THE FRIGGIN BATTERY... I love these headphones. The question about light weight? My previous bluetooth headphones were Bose AE2W's (which I lost in Copenhagen) THEY were light weight. however, they were NOT noise canceling, they did NOT have the sound quality, and while the battery did not die completely, it was on the way out.. (it lasted about an hour before they disappeared...) Anyway, maybe my psyche wanted an upgrade? who knows... However, I DO know that these have great sound, I ran them for about 15 hours before they needed to be charged. My only other suggestion is that you connect these to your computer and perform the software upgrade once they arrive, AND install device ... MoreSuperior sound quality, amazing comfort, excellent style, the ability to CHANGE THE FRIGGIN BATTERY... The H9 3rd generation of wireless headphones really are the pinnacle of build quality, materials used, and overall sound and comfort. They are pricey but you definitely get what you pay for. Im so thankful that I got these new ( you could still smell the new smell) for such a bargain price ( theyd been listed as the older H9i model) of 125 . They are 450 normally so the mislisting done me a big favour as no one bid at the end. Anyway the sound from these is already awesome but theres endless variations using the B&O app. They also have google assistant, and touch controls on the right earpiece. The comfort has improved from the H9i model with more plush leather earcups. Overall a fantastic buy and highly recommend.
Once I adjusted the AirPlay volume up they had much improved volume. They are especially awesome listening to a Dolby ATMOS source. Tremendous sound stage, and each instrument is precisely placed and has punch. Wonderful noise cancelling. I sometimes have a fan behind me when I work and you simply cannot hear it at all when noise cancelling is on. Highest quality materials. You can even buy a separate battery and replace it in 60 seconds while you charge the depleted one. Touch controls on right side metal housing are only ok. I can pause, and advance to the next song, but can't seem to adjust volume, so I do that on the device I'm using. Once I turned that up whoa, those reviews suddenly make no sense. I really like that the headphones automatically pause the song or video when I place them on my desk and resume when I put them on again without me doing anything. Comfortable even when you where them a couple of hours. I wish B & O made a sturdier one I could wear outside doing chores with the same electronics but washable contact parts.
