Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 2nd Gen Portable Bluetooth Speaker Grey Mist

Beautiful, High Quality, Well made product that delivers as promised. A product that will exceed your expectations. One daughter owns the original and just bought the 2gen for our other daughter. The quality of the sound will exceed your expectations. It’s robust for teenage handling, it’s compact in size. Warning the sound is loud!

Out of the box, this feels like a quality item. There's a surprising weight to it, suggesting that the inbuilt speakers are substantial, and of high quality. The sound, which can be adjusted to your preferences via the B&O app, is clean with an authoritative bass. All types of music shine, and nothing seems to trip up the delivery, there is substantial enough power in the amp to deliver a sound that amazes for the relatively small size of the unit. The only downside is that they need to do some work on the functionality of the app, which is somewhat less than intuitive, and can be a little troublesome. However, this is a minor irritant when set against the quality of sound this unit is capable of producing.

We bought this to play music at a family occasion. It did the job and for such a small speaker it has a good sound, picking up the bass notes as well as the higher register. It's surprisingly heavy for its size but still very portable. Very easy to connect to Android phones, iPhones and our various laptops. We got more volume when we connected a Samsung phone to it, the iPhone didn't generate nearly as much. It's likely this could be down to settings on the iPhone (yet to investigate).I chose this speaker because it has a microphone too so I've been able to use it with my PC for meetings over Zoom. Works very well.
