This is like a bag of dusty grass bits with a few corn kernels and sunflower seeds. My chooks go crazy for food, but this is not food! Its like powdered greens and about 2% grains.

My 3 backyard chooks, 1 Australorp and 2 Isa Browns, LOVE this mix. They have always been stable and average layers, but since starting Barastoc Grains and Greens, they are laying every day and the eggs are much bigger! It looks unusual compared with the previous grain mixes I have given them- looks like a mix of grains and grass. But it is obviously good for them. They have never been so healthy :)

My girls love this brand, but especially love this feed. They do pick out their favourite parts first, however there's far less wastage than the other feeds.
At first I was disappointed in this product as it seemed very dusty. I saw a reviewer that suggested they mix it with water, so I tried it and my girls are waiting for it every day. They prefer it over other feeds I have. So who would have thought.I think it is worth mixing it with a bit of water to stop the dust flying away.
I've tried changing their food several times but they only seem to eat this food! They go crazy for the sunflower seeds in the food. Absolutely love how fast the delivery is as well!
My feathered pets just love this. They are free range and get fed separate greens, but I put this out for them, and it's gone in no time. The lucerne is important if they do not get enough greens.
Bought this because I thought it was healthy. The product is rather powdery and lacking substance. Some of the "greens" look like brittle and sharp hay/lucerne or something?? This can't be good for a chicken's crop?? Better to stick tofresh greens! Doubt I'd buy this again.
My chooks love this stuff but a good 10-20% of the bag is just dried up hay/grass which they can't even eat! Shame cause when I'm buying 20kg of feed, I want 20kg of actually eatable feed. May consider going back to this brand if they just got rid of that darn grass.
I ordered two 20kg bags of this feed based on 1 review that loaded up on my screen. There is nothing but powder a few black seeds and grass grass grass. It also smells bad and sour when it gets wet. My hens hate it and I've lost money because they refuse to eat it. The baby chicken licks the powder and the two older hens cracked it at me for giving them "sweepings off the factory floor" and stopped laying, so I have had to mix their other sunflower seed treats that usually last 1 month per bag with plain yoghurt and fruit to get by until next pay. I wasn't going to say anything, but I am very disappointed.
