BAUER Vapor X3.5 Skate Senior D / 7

Warning: blades need to be sharpened before first use Bauer Vapor X3.5 are basic hockey skates from Vapor line, intended for both recreational and amateur play. Vapor are intended for narrower, low volume feet, so if you find Supreme boots too spacious, these are for you. They have also became a favourite among freestyle ice skating enthusiasts, thanks to their tight, performance oriented fit. X3.5 boot is based on polycarbonate quarter package, which is both lightweight and offering good trade-off between ankle support and flex. Furthermore, this material allows you to achieve a better fit by heat-moulding the boots, just like in case of higher end models. In contrast to Supreme M1 equivalent, the X3.5 boot's padding has not been increased in thickness - this is due to slim fit nature of the boot. It is made out of memory foam, still super comfortable out of the box and covered in microfibre material, doing great job at absorbing excess moisture. A traditional, 30 Oz felt tongue sports an additional reinforcement, protecting your foot and shin as well as participating in the way skate locks your heel. Symmetrical toe cap gives you more room in front part of the skate, increasing comfort even further. The Lightspeed Pro II blade holder used in X3.5 does not allow for swapping blade, but other than that, it is of design very similar to one found in higher end models, preserving the benefits like rigidity, precision and level of control. The blade has a standard hockey curve. The blade is not pre-sharpened, so be sure to take care of it before first use! Bauer Vapor X3.5 come recommended to anyone who is looking for a decent pair of hockey skates to get into the sport, but doesn’t want to drop much cash and is not yet ready for high-performance oriented models.

My son loves these skates. We had a terrible time finding skates that fit him properly. We tried Bauer Supremes and CCM Tacks. Neither fit well and a wonderful store associate suggested this pair. Along with some fitted inserts we have a winner! Can always count on Pure Hockey to help us find the perfect gear.

The skates are fantastic. The challenge, especially for younger kids, is the break-in period. They have been heat molded twice and she still finds them a challenge to tighten the top two eyelets. We may need a third molding period.

My son is absolutely over the moon with his new stuff (skates, stick and helmet)We visited the store at a really busy time and appreciate your staff were really busy .. it did take ages to get what we needed and we were on a tight schedule as my son was playing a game that day … it was a little bit stressful and could have done with a bit more help but next time we visit we’ll bare that in mind.

Fit slimmer than old vapours
30 October 2017

I've only worn the skates for about 6 hours now, but I've found that they fit tighter than the last pair of Bauer vapour skates I owned which were perfectly comfortable, and I wore them for 10 years. The reason I stuck with the brand was to keep the fit, so that is a bit frustrating. I also noticed that the red trim on the tongue of the skate has bled off and made the laces red in spots, which doesn't affect the performance, but looks pretty messy - something I wouldn't expect in a skate of this price. Other than that, their light, and feel great. (I mean, the fit is mostly my fault!) Good skates, just a little disappointing.

Great Value
18 August 2019

Thse skates often go on sale at Canadian tire and when they do they become one of the best deals on skates you can find. Based on the x500 skate with upgraded steel from the x700 and tounge from the x600 they combine value with performance. My son has been using them for 2 years now and loves them. They have held up very well playing about twice a week on average.

Great fit for this female skater
16 November 2019

I am a female skater, and wear size 8.5 / 9 in street shoes. I have narrow heels, but need an average size toe box.. I tried three models of Bauer skates, all size six. The Nexus were too roomy (wide), but both the Vapor and the Supreme were good fits. I found the Vapor to be a bit more snug in the heel, which is what I needed. Try a few styles until you find what works for you.

Great for the price!
23 December 2022

Just getting back into hockey at 28. Picked these up a couple of months ago for stick and puck and pick ups. Pretty light weight. Broke in after just a couple of skates. Haven't had any issues. Boot is definitely on the basic side, but for the price these are great for the casual or beginner skater.

good skate for the price

This is a great skate for the price. It is more for the beginner hockey player out there just starting out. The quality of the skate is great, Bauer has been a company around forever and is very reliable and know for making a great product. I wouldn’t suggest this skate for the experienced hockey player as you might want a skate that is a litter lighter, and also performs a little better. You cannot go wrong about this skate at this price, based on my usage of the skate I would recommend this product anyone who wants a good quality skate that is just starting out learning how to skate as this will be the skate for you. Bauer makes many different types of skates one for the experienced hockey player and one for the beginner; I personally believe they made this skate ... MoreThis is a great skate for the price. Once purchased if you fit in that category you should not have any problem and will enjoy this skate.
