The product lasted 15 minutes before it broke and now I have to figure out how to send back a large product to be looked at. I has to buy an alternate product from a well known brand to finish the work I was commissioned to do. I would never recommend this product, it is useless and not worth the money, spend a bit more and get a brand that is known.

As a person who has worked the building industry for 40 plus years now, I've experienced a wide variety of cheap to costly petrol powered tools. Yet no experience of Baumr-Ag's range except for a tree lopper I met, who had a Baumr-Ag chainsaw. Saying it was the best chainsaw he'd ever had including some very expensive ones. His Baumr-Ag had as he put it, 'taken a thrashing' over several years of tree lopping yet still started first go every time. When I saw the Baumr-Ag long reach chainsaw and hedger for sale at such a good price from Edisons, who are local to us, I decided give it a go. To buy it and take it back if it was rubbish. Well, rubbish it is not. It is heavy. And powerful. Starting first go each time. The chain for the chainsaw was missing from the box. Dropped into Edisons to let them know. Immediately a chain was sourced and given to me. Couldn't be happier. Great value for money.

This tool is unbelievable, how they can make it for the price is beyond me. It is very easy to start and very powerful, I have 2 tools made by Baumer and they are both fantastic. It cuts and hedges great, obviously you need to be strong to use it when fully extended,,,one thing However, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is not handy as I had to fix a few tiny things, I had to shorten 1 of the extension poles 10mm because the drive shaft inside wasn't connecting, thats a simple 5 minute fix but not for everyone. I am very impressed with everything else about it.

This tool is not particularly light in weight. It seems to have sufficient power for cutting. It is relatively easy to start. I would prefer that the chain-saw head was on a short pole shaft so that it does not have to be dismantled for packing and travelling. I would prefer that the chain-saw were at an angle of about 15 degrees to the pole, in line with the blade, so that the weight of the tool holds the saw in place, rather than having to apply pressure from below. [The Ryobi battery powered chain-saw on a pole does this.] Also, I would like a saw blade that is at 75 degrees to the pole, with the blade on its side, so that I can cut those shoots that grow straight up.
Ive used it twice so far and its more than up to the job for home use. The good: 1.) Easy to start and setup is straightforward 2.) Ample power for the job 3.) Excellet reach (good for palms) There bad:issues 1.) throttle handle assembly eventually comes loose no matter how much you tighten it. 2.) The quick release system isn't very advanced so sometimes the securing nut falls out if there isnt enough pressure on it. (Thats probably the operators fault...) 3.) Fuel pickup likes at least 1/4 of a tank otherwise it cuts out above a 45 angle. Like others have said it's not 'brand name' quality, but for the price its a bargain. I haven't experienced any perished fuel lines or other issues such as those with the MTM brand but it could be luck of the draw. All I know is that the tool paid for itself in the 2 hours I used it and I'd recommend it for occasional use, or you dont have $1000 for a stihl. Didn't know what to expect with this tool but I was delighted with the quality and finish. Engine started first time. Everything went together beautifully. The online Manual was excellent and not of the usual Asian standard. Also, like the fact the spare parts and service is available locally. How do they do it for the price? excellent value. Only a minor problem - its a bit heavy to handle and you certainly need the shoulder strap.
Nothing wrong with the quality for the price paid - awesome really. The design however is not as easy as you would imagine, especially when using the extension poles, the more you lengthen it, then harder it becomes to hold, handle, start even. The motor is powerful enough, the adjustment nuts etc seem of low grade steel so will wear over time. I think the same issue with usability will apply to any of the similar products which is why the reputable brands only make shorter versions. Probably still of good use for some situations and it will be handle but wouldn't recommend the chainsaw extension for use in most home/garden situations. As a single/double length it works fine, but is still on the heavy side to control easily.
Too heavy and unwieldy when using extension shafts not helped by the motor unit being displaced off-centre relative to the shafts on my unit. Well made and engine starts reliably but I would look to a recharchable battery unit next time. I was able to prune a high tree with the chainsaw but it felt dangerous due to difficulty in balancing it.
- its far too heavy and unwieldy- need to be Arnold Swarzenegger to use.- trigger start operation fell apart second time I used it- no parts assembly figure / spend 3 hours putting it back together- but spring kaput.-plastic parts and loose springs the safety bar only lasted one use.-chain saw blade cover poorly secured.-chain tightener weak/ beds easilyI spend more time putting the chain back on than time working/cutting
Within an hour of using the item it died a rattly death. Sometimes products fail and things like this happen, I understand that. But it is Edison's response that is rougher and dodgier than the dead item itself. They simply told us to return the item to them and then falsely accused us of using the incorrect fuel ratio. A lie. Then said any further repairs would not be under the warranty as the item had been deemed misused. What a scheme! We have 4 motorbikes and a shed full of machinery. We understand small engine mechanics and a flaming lie when we hear one. They have no intention of honoring the warranty and refunding us our money. Save yourself the trouble of dealing with dodgy businesses online, walk in to a store, pay a little more money and guarantee yourself ... MoreWithin an hour of using the item it died a rattly death.
